OH Kim I am so jealous! I want a bike! My parents live 180 miles away so I doubt I will ever bike to their house, but we live really close to The City of Rocks and it has AWESOME trails I would love to bike.

Angeline I hear you about him as an instructor too, I have never made it past the first 15 min. to really get too annoyed with him, but his personality does not scream yoga instructor.

I had such a great run/walk last night! I think I might try P90X again soon. I want to wait until I see the 150s give the knees a chance to toughen up some more.

I remembered to weigh in today and am pleased to not see a gain, but dissapointed to not see a drop too. With the week I had I guess I will take it and do better next week :)

I am headed out of town again this weekend (3 weeks in a row is killing me) but I am determined to stay OP the entire time, but I don't think I will make the next beach.

Good Morning Fellow Black Teammates!! Hope your Wednesday was a good one. Mine wasn't too bad. Got to go see the newest grandson last night. He is so cute and tiny. Didn't get any exercise in but did manage to stay OP with my eating. So far this week I'm down 1.5. I'm really hoping to see more disappear by our next WI but will be more than satisfied with what I have now. I'm sure this challenge is helping me stay focused. I want to thank all of you for helping me with this. I appreciate all the support and, yes, even the kicks in the behind when I need it.

Have a great Thursday. I'll check back in later.

Morning Team!

dream - you are right....I think I did burn myself out. I was so intense last challenge. I think I need to find a happy medium. Instead of feeling that anything less than 4 miles is bad, I should start seeing that anything more than ZERO is great!

Diva- Look! It's the RED-headed stepchild! lololol! I know, I know, it might be a comfy weight for me - it really hasn't taken any effort to maintain it. I just really want to be able to say I am in the 130's.....it is a weird psychological thing. I even bought a size 6 jeans yesterday (thank you muscles!) but I kept thinking....wow....if I lost more what size could I get into???? Maybe I am just never going to be content, and I need to realize this and fix it??????????

Kim - Biking is so fun!!!! I love pulling my little guys in the bike trailer. I wish it would get a little warmer on the weekends and evenings so I could take them all over. Why is it always sunny when I am working, and raining when I am not???

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Morning All
Its a beautiful sunshiny day here! Just wish I could be outside to enjoy it. Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Morning everyone!

Well, my eating hasn't been so good lately, but my exercise has been awesome. I'm thinking that maybe since I've been exercising more my body has been needing some more calories.

On a positive note, last night I pulled out all my shorts that I haven't worn for 6 months. 2 pairs of shorts that I could not wear last summer fit me real nice now! It was so nice to wear them last night.

Tonight is my LAST workout of c25k! It's so exciting that I am finishing it! I am planning to run my first 5K this weekend.

Have a great day!

KimL: Good for you! I bought one in the Fall of last year and I love riding it. It doesn't seem like exercise, which is always good, right? ;) Wow...an hour...that's great, I usually go about 35 mins and then I'm pooped.

Well, today is going to be pretty busy but I should be able to work some cardio in. I'm trying to talk myself into the weight routine but I'm having a hard time because it seems I can see results quicker by doing cardio. Yes, yes, I know that muscles burn calories when you are resting, but I'm in a hurry, dammit! Well, when school is out, maybe I can do both. :) Have a great day, Black Team, I will check in later today some time.

I went to Palomar/CSUSM - I have a B.A. in Human Development. I originally wanted to get into the CALSWEC program which would have paid my way thru a MSW, but am still waffling. A master's isn't as necessary for social work as it used to be.
Number crunching is NOT one of my talents! Good for you!

WOW! Sounds like you have been just as busy with school as I have! NU is nice b/c I can do it all on my own time, but each quarter length class is crammed into 4 weeks. This isn't a degree mill either, if you don't earn the grade, you don't pass...PERIOD! It has been a real challenge to adjust from the semester schedule, where you have plenty of time to absorb everything to this schedule where you have no time for review, either you get it or you don't! Right now I am taking Quant. Methods...It's a challenge, luckily I am good at math, I don't know how people who aren't ever survive!

It's SO EXCITING to see everybody getting into exercise . . . buying bikes, getting outside walking & running. It's energizing!

Ceegee - It's great to see you here in chat!

I hope everybody with finals did well. Glitter - how'd neuroscience go??

I'm in awe of you gals that weigh in before the last possible moment. How do you do that? I want every last hour . . .

It's lovely here today but I need to pay bills. ICK. I've already started spending my stimulus check so I hope it arrives soon!!

Hi Black Team members - hope you're having a good day.

Our cafeteria at work is having a secret diet special. Lately they've been making food that looks really good but tastes like :p Although it's not doing my wallet any good, it is saving me the calories because lately I taste things and ask myself - is it worth the calories? If not, I don't eat it. That goes for grainy, tasteless cornbread as well as a 100 calorie pack of Oreo Cookie Crisps - if it fits into my plan for the day.

I'm struggling a little bit with my exercise now and find that I have to break it up into bits - a walk around the office at lunch, stretches in the morning, ads at night when I'm watching tv. Not as effective as one solid hour at the gym but I'm trying to put a little more oomph into everything I do, even if if means going up and down the stairs 3 times when I pass them.

Hope you are having a good Thursday. Keep marching on, the weekend's almost here.

hey all well dinner last night didn't result in Dq but I was still about 200 over my calorie limit. Today I woke up depressed I am not even sure what about I didn't do anything but eat all morning I had 2 eggs scrambled, 3 200 calorie cookies my husband bought for his parents for dessert so they wouldn't take us to DQ...they refused to take them home and if I throw them out my DH will have a fit they were expensive, I had 2 sandwichs with peanutbutter and a bit of nutella...then I felt so sick I got sick to my stomach from eating to much I feel terrible I exercised for a bit to my turbo jam but I still feel guilty. I still have mothers day dinner out with my mom I know I am going to have a salad but there is no way of telling the calories form this restaurant but its my moms choice and we have alreayd made reservations. my calories are at about 1200 already!!!!! unless you count the little bit of stuff that came back out...sorry for the crude way of putting it. I already decided I am not stepping on the scale tomorrow!!! this is my first huge binge and I am not feeling to good about it :(

bethbeth 05-08-2008 02:17 PM

IrishFairy~ We all go through this. It's ok. You haven't ruined everything. The important thing is that you let go of yesterday and this morning, start over, and don't give up. You've lost an amazing 46 pounds! Focus on the good things, make a list of things that are better now than they were 46 pounds ago, and think about what you want for your future.
Set backs are normal. We just have to pick up and keep going. You can do it!

Manick 05-08-2008 02:22 PM

Oh Irish:hug: It's OK. Remember how you feel now, and just move on. You can eat healthy the rest of the day and one day will not make or break anything...it's when it becomes the pattern that we have to take drastic action.

As for the salad for Mother's Day, do your best. Order low fat dressing or dressing on the side and dip your leaves in. Go to the thedailyplate.com and estimate the calories of the ingredients when you get home. You can do it!

The freezer is my friend for stuff that I don't want to eat. And if I can't resist it from in there I get rid of it. You and your health are worth more than expensive cookies, but I totally understand, I have a very frugal DH as well. He's big on not wasting anything! Thank goodness for the garbage disposal! I immediately freeze anything I don't want to eat, tell him he has 2 weeks to eat it and if he doesn't it just quietly disappears from our house :s:

smurf2110 05-08-2008 02:23 PM

Irishfairy:  I want to say "don't beat yourself up" but I would then have to eat my own words as I beat myself up too. Beth is right-we all do/will do this from time to time-start fresh this very moment and be proud of how far you have come!

I had a very good yoga workout this morning and have a lot of rocks to haul and weeds to pull and burn this afternoon (maybe I should have done the yoga after the yard work to put everything back where it belongs)

Off to make some lunch-not sure what the fridge is pretty empty :o

blueyedlvrgirl 05-08-2008 02:58 PM

Well, tomorrow is weigh-in day, so my focus is to workout hard and drink lots of water! Tonight for dinner, I am making chicken soft tacos with wheat tortillas, reduced fat cheese, lettuce olives and salsa. I am going to make some vegetarian 99% ff refried beans and some whole grain spanish rice! Mmmmm!

The beach hopping challenge has been great for my workouts, but bad for my homework! I did another 116 mins between lunch walking and the gym last night! I should've done this team's exercise challenge, but just don't have the time to keep track of so many threads! Oh well!

I am off to walk after I eat, hope everyone is having a great day! I'll check in again soon!
