I could get a new one but as a teacher and going into summer I think I will wait.

My home scale weighs 3 pounds lighter than our gym scale. I would say if you know how much your gym scale and your home scale were off from each other, weigh on the gym scale and then subtract that number. Does that make sense?

And ladies...... today is......

WEIGH-IN DAY!!!!!
Please have your weigh-in post updated by 11:59 EST tonight!

As for posting gains.... everyone gains. I would much rather you save your "freebies" for any emergencies that arise or vacations you may take, or if you're like me and forget to update your weigh-in post on the weigh-in before last...lol. We have all gained at some point and I don't think of it as "letting your team down" if you have to post a gain. This is a "friendly" competition and there is no $2 million prize at stake. You need to be accountable. This is my opinion (which I value highly :D)

I have another Accounting assignment to finish today and then, I have 2 finals to take (one in History, one in accounting) and I'll be done with school for this semester! :woohoo: I enjoy school and I enjoy learning, but it's rough since the last time I was in college full time was 10 years ago! But there's no time like the present, huh?

AND, for all of you who feel like you just can't get caught up.... please, please, please don't get frustrated! It's a wonderful thing that these threads are SO alive!!! Again, all I ask is that you just pop in and let us know you're here. If you're having struggles or you have NSV's to share...please do! But, don't feel like because you can't address everyone individually that you don't need to be around here. I love it that the threads are this busy - it's a good sign that people are hanging out, and getting support that they come here for.

Good morning Black Team,

Another new week, another opportunity. Hope everyone is doing well. Don't forget to weigh in today if you haven't done so. (Don't want to lose anyone from the team for not weighing in on time). Also reminding people that we have another thread - Healthy Eating on the Beach for posting recipes and such. We had such great momentum on the eggplant suggestions, hope to keep it up. Yeah, I know between this and the exercise challenges and now a food thread - that sure is alot but if you wanted to try a recipe, if they are all in one place it's easier than searching back through a busy thread.

Keep moving and eat well today.

BTW - liked your post Glittericious.

Morning Ladies,

Had a busy family weekend. Got lots done and had some fun! Took the kids swimming yesterday. Today is a fresh week and I am looking forward to being OP and exercise! Glad you are all here and having a great time and working hard to improve your health. TEAM BLACK ROCKS!

happy2bme 05-05-2008 09:13 AM

Purple - I was looking at the Black Team exercise thread and you mentioned Trampoline Walking. What is that?

glitterlicious 05-05-2008 09:37 AM

Ah...so I had a 3 pound gain from my starting weight. I really am not surprised. I only started this 2 days ago...plus I have stupid TOM to deal with. I feel like such a disappointment.

Next Week's Goal: 217. One less than my starting weight.

[QUOTE=dream710;2184374]Anyone heard of Les Mills? I was just checking out the Y's website and they are annoucing the arrival of her programs in 27 days. Just curious if they were worth joining.[QUOTE]

The gym I go to has the Les Mills classes. I like them and there are a good variety. Some of them are really challenging like BodyAttack, it's a really hard fast moving cardio class. I like BodyPump because you get a good strength training workout, it uses a bar that you put weights on the end so you can increase the weights you use as you get stronger. BodyStep is like any step class. BodyJam is the dance cardio class which I really like but the times the class is scheduled at my gym makes it so I usually can't make that one. I also like BodyFlow and BodyVive, Flow is the class that's a combo of thai chi/pilates/yoga and Vive is a low impact class that includes cardio and strength training. I just started going to RPM, the spinning class, once a week and each time my butt is less sore and it's a good cardio work out. The nice thing about these classes is you know what to expect because they are a set routine designed by the people at Les Mills. And each class comes out with a new release every month or two. It keeps me on track knowing I'm going to certain classes on certain days.

Good Morning Black Team. Like a couple others, I posted a gain this week. However, I am commiting to you all that I will do better this week.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Went to Wildlife Prairie State Park yesterday for my early Mother's Day. We had brunch and then walked the park and looked at all the animals and buildings and stuff. We were there for 5 hours total and walked around 2.5 miles. It was just a beautiful day with the temps in the high 60's. Anyway, today and tomorrow are supposed to be in the upper 70's so should be good walking weather when I get home from work. I'll save the inside workouts for the rainy days that are coming later in the week.

Didn't mean to write such a long post. Just wanted to wish everyone a POP and good week. I'll check back in later.

Changes to the Exercise Challenge

Ladybug2680 05-05-2008 10:22 AM

Good morning all. This weekend wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worse by far. I'm looking for a loss this week considering I had a horrible gain last week. *sigh* Time to start back exercising and eating like I should. Gotta stay away from the junk food.

KimL1214 05-05-2008 10:23 AM

Coaching AAU and Varsity Track & Field is really killing my efforts as I find myself with barely enough time to even sleep. My schedule is ridiculously packed this week, meaning that if I really want to stay on track I need to sit down and really map out my meals as well as activities this week. I'm not sure where I am going to squeeze exercise in though. I've seen numerous articles on how overweight people often get less sleep than thin people. How much sleep should I be aiming for? I feel like I have no social life whenever I try to workout every day as it eats up whatever free time I would have. Any suggestions???

Hi ladies -

Hope everyone is rolling along! I want to scan through our past week's weight loss and see how we're doing. I know I had a nice loss for the first week. My losses are usually pretty slow so 2 lbs down is enormous for me.

Today ends week 3 of my P90X Lean routine and I'm loving it!

I did KenpoX this morning. Next week begins my recovery week which means 2 days of Yoga X during the week. I love yoga and my body has missed a regular yoga routine however I'm not crazy about Tony as a yoga instructor. Oh well - maybe I'll turn his voice off and see how that goes (I guess I'm afraid I'll miss the cues to move on since I don't watch too much of the TV when I do yoga and just follow vocal cues).

Have a great week!!

back to black

Hey another P90Xer! Although I can't really say that I am one I have yet to make it past week 6 :o I have to say I too love yoga, but HATE his workout he does the same thing over and over and over again so I have always had to sub another yoga workout in its place. My favorite is the Kenpo. My joints were hurting so I have decided to give the P90X a break until I loose a little more weight so that there is not so much pressure on my knees, but I would love to see you make it all the way through!

smurf2110 05-05-2008 10:35 AM

Hey BLACK team! Hope you all had a nice weekend! I enjoyed mine, but sad to say I could not say no to the yummy cookies that were everywhere I turned. I did limit myself though. I also didn't get the workout I wanted to, but I tried to sit as little as possible and my road trip munchies were healthy ones and lots of water.

This week should be a good one, lovely weather and a chance to get out and do lots. I am going food shopping later today and plan to stick to the plan.

Happy Monday you all, I will try to keep up, but with such nice weather today I might get lost outside :)

Bette k 05-05-2008 11:04 AM

Hi Everyone,
I ended up with a gain this week, but todayis another day and it's beautiful outside, I 'm goint to get out and walk, then garden and go to the woods and look fro mushrooms. At least with all the sunshine today I'll get my Vitamin D. bad news is that it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow, the weather forcast for the last month and next week too has been 1-2 days good days and 5 or more of cold and rainy.
See you all later.
Bette

glitterlicious 05-05-2008 11:13 AM

Ah...I just went for a 1.5 mile run outside.
Towards the end of my run I was a little lightheaded and before I knew it I was on the sidewalk. I feel like such a loser and now my hand has a huge gash on it. Yuckyyy. I think I was dehydrated. Lesson learned= always make sure you are hydrated before beginning working out.

chiquita623 05-05-2008 11:17 AM

Bette - Your weather sounds like ours here in Illinois. I'm making the best of it or at least as much as I can. I too posted a gain but have a new attitude to go with the new week so things are looking up. Good luck mushrooming!! I love those little fungi!!
