Oh I LIVE for my checklists! Without one I would sit around all day wondering what I should do, and in the end accomplish nothing. It is such a reward to cross something off my list and the days I get the list all the way done makes me so happy-Okay I might be a bit of a nerd ;)

So I just saw that the blue team won AGAIN this week-something I also noticed was that they have their 4th chat thread started (a new chat is not started until they reach close to 500 posts)-hhmmm I wonder if there is a connection. I know for me being accountable for my weight loss, eating and exercising really helps. Even in no one is reading my posts and commenting on them just logging on here to post a couple of times a day really helps me to stay accountable and I find that I stay on plan much better. Now I really am not one to talk as I have only lost 2.5 lbs (weigh in is tomorrow so hoping for more this week) so far this challenge, but that is 2.5 lbs less than when I started and I am pretty sure that if I were not being held accountable here I would still have those lbs on me. I don't want to get all preachy, but it seems we have a few regulars and I think we all want a few more!
Don't let us down! Lets win it this week!

Team leader please feel free to kick me off of your box now

OK, so the Blue Team has won 2 weeks in a row. We CAN'T let them keep this up. This is our week, Black Team! Let's beat them!

So I'm stationed out of the learning center at the school I work at and am having a hard time with my schedule today. The other man I work with is out, so I am having to do both his job and mine. Unfortunately his job requires sitting on my butt all day helping students with work, while my job is in and out of classrooms helping students as well as teachers. Since there are already teachers in the classrooms I go to, I have to focus on his students and I feel like I am going to go nuts if I have to sit here any longer!!!

trooworld 05-13-2008 12:03 PM

Morning, all!

Smurf, I for one am reading your posts. ;)

Okay, here's my list for today:

- read 2 things for school
- review all material for tests in both classes
- fold laundry
- either go for a 45 min walk or 35 min bike ride

Might not sound like a lot, but the school related things will take hours and I'll be going crazy, so that exercise will do me some good.

ceegee 05-13-2008 12:22 PM

Go team Go! WE rock!

Lists are an addiction to me. But I keep them pretty private due to the carry over items. Often my lists are never ending. But I dont find that discouraging but others in the house do! So I stratigically place some of the list on the white board while daily planner has a colour coded endless list with stragegy!

Wow you guys are right blue team sure can post. I have to admit that when I dont have something positive to say I would rather not post at all. There have been a few excpetions the past few days. But my general rule thanks to Mom "if you have nothing nice to say dont say anything at all." So when I am in a bad mood I usually shut down. My goal to you all will be to say something good each day. Despite any black clouds hoovering above me!

JuliaDH 05-13-2008 01:30 PM

Ceegee - I love our trail a bike. DD is almost 5 and it is wonderful to help her keep up. DS is 7 and has good enduance and other DD is 11 and well I can keep up! I think after dinner we will go for a ride since there is no baseball tonight! Oh see another thing to add to my check list!

Hannah25 05-13-2008 01:44 PM

Oh I cannot do lists. I make the list, then become obsessed over how the list looks, and end up re-writing my list over and over to make it perfect, then when I do something I re-write the list without that one thing becuase it bothers me to have it crossed off...gosh I'm weird.

I have my last exam today, so excited to almost be done with school. Then hopefully I can spend more time here and get some big loses.

Random rant about outside exercise. I love exercising outside, but gee I don't know how I am ever going to get rid of the nasty tan sock line that I have going already. It is like brown leg to white foot. Can't exercise without socks, but then I look goofy wearing sandals to try to even it out. Ah well, life must be pretty good since I am stressing over my sock line.

Have a good on plan day my friends.

Hiya team,

:congrat: Soulbliss on being the biggest loser of the week

Sally - I think your haircut is soooo cute too.

As for the Blue chat thread being so long - there are some people on that team who's schedules allow them to chat all day long which really adds up the post counts. I do check in as required but if I can be completely honest (and I hope that no one takes it the wrong way) I must admit the chat this time feels awkward. More important than that though, I used to wonder why I never had time to exercise. It occured to me that if I stopped spending so much time on the computer, I could squeeze in at least 30 more minutes a day - so I don't post as much as I once did. Secondly, these challenges have grown tremendously in size with huge teams. It's hard to keep up with everyone. When I post here, I sometimes feel like I am standing in a great big hall of people jabbering away and I'm just talking to myself. I know it would be impossible to post individual responses but it's just different to me to come in, wave drop 2 lines and leave. KWIM? Won't stop me from posting but I don't see this team turning into the chat fest that the blue team is. I do agree with those who said it's important to come here and check in and I apologize in advance if anyone takes what I said the wrong way for any wrong reason whatsoever. No criticism intended, simply a comment on my part.

I will say that I TRULY enjoy the food thread - there have been some delicious recipes for stuff I never would have thought to make before. And the Black Team's exercise thread in particular (thanks Ceegee  ) has got me thinking about moving in any way possible and has on several occasions gotten me off the couch when I would have rather sat there and vegged.

So with that, team. I'm off for a walk before lunch is over.

ceegee 05-13-2008 03:08 PM

yay happy2bme!! I just need to get myself moving more! grrrr....

chiquita623 05-13-2008 03:34 PM

Congrats to our 'Biggest Loser', Soulbliss. You did awesome!! We are all so proud of you!!

Just a quick flyby. I'm kind of in a funk today. I've been staying on plan and haven't just eaten everything in sight but am feeling sort of blue. I'll get over it. Just takes a little time I suppose.

I may not be on here a whole lot for the next 3 - 5 weeks. The auditor is coming in to audit my work for the past 5 years and he devotes a week to each year. Goes through it with a fine tooth comb. That in itself is enough to make me a little depressed!!! So I will be here as much as I can, I promise.

So to each of you - have a good Tuesday evening. I'll check back in later.

smurf2110 05-13-2008 04:03 PM

HAHA Yay other listers!! I am not the only nerd ;) I know that lists are not for everyone, but I  them!

Kim that would be hard to have to sit around-I have heard that kids concentrate if they have periodic bouts of exercise, no need to go run a mile, but 5 min. here and there-not sure if that is an option for you. If not I have been traveling a lot and that requires lots of sitting/driving. I learned to do isometric exercises (exercises that require no movement) while sitting there try these:
push your butt out of the chair without actually doing it working your thighs
push your back into the back of the chair working your thighs
contract and relax any major muscle group over and over until it is fatigued (I do this with my abs a lot while driving)
I also will sit and do heel raises/toe taps

trooworld: Ah thanks! I love that others are reading them and hopefully find something I say helpful at least once in this long process, but regardless I write them mostly to keep me accountable

LondonJulz: I am glad you don't mind. My mouth sometimes gets away from me, but I always strive to speak my thoughts honestly-

JuliaHood: I think that it is great that you only want to post positive things and even better that your goal is to post once a day something positive, but if you have some venting to do this is a great place to release it! I don't know about you, but I am an emotional eater and until I release the emotion I will continue to eat :)

Hannah: HAHA I am the same way-I type my lists (or post them here) with a nice little box out to the side that I can color in when I am all done with the chore-my lists have to stay doodle free and neat with the exception of coloring in the box. Back when I was working a 9-5 I used to be teased because before I could do ANYTHING I had to type up my list. About the tan line, no help here, I am just jealous that you have one. I am pasty white still.

happy2bme: I hear ya about some ladies being able to chat all day, and I totally get that not everyone can sit around and chat. I am also finding myself away from the computer more now that the weather is warm. I also feel the awkward conversation-hopefully the more we get to know each other the easier the conversation will flow. I don't feel bad at all that we don't have 4 threads already, but I do wish that those that rarely post but once or twice a week would pop in more-schedule pending of course, even if it is only to wave and tell us what they plan to do that day or report what they have done.
My thought for the day is "If you fail to plan you plan to fail."
I love the food thread and the challenge thread too and I trying my darndest to catch up to you :)

chiquita: EWW auditors...good luck! How was your walk this weekend?

So I am curious as to what all of your professions are
I am a photographer and mostly stay home with my kids during the day and work in the evenings and weekends when daddy is home

Anyways-break is over...headed outside to get my yard work done
