Shy Moment - There is nothing wrong with them if you can control them, but I would buy them and eat four of them in a day. So whatever I have control issues with I keep out of the house and only bring in occasionally for a treat. I'm fine with these things most of the time, but it's those moments when my head hunger hits (not real hunger) that even low-cal treats become dangerous for me.
Diva - (Our adopted Red member!) Hope your doing well. Sorry I havent gotten that running info yet. Do you still want it?
Lets see as for me... my bike came today. Dropped it off to be assembled but it won't be ready until next week because I took it to a really good shop. I guess I'm not in a hurry since it's still pretty cold here. It looks GREAT though!! The guy said I got a really really great deal.
I did only 45mins of exercise today. I was on the rebounder for 45 minutes and I popped in my #s and it only burned 288 calories? OUCH. So I'm a little over for the day for my goal calories, but still under maintenance at least although I'm hungry I might have a grapefruit half before bed.
I've noticed the quality of what I've been eating while in calorie range has gone WAY downhill the last month or so. I'd hate for a nutritionalist to see what I ate today!! Like today I had left over sweet potato fries, a kashi bar, 2 small bagels, 2 pieces of pizza, a latte and 2 cookies. What the **** was I thinking? Especially with the way I exercise I need to fuel my body properly. Hello Veggies? I don't eat that bad every day but I need to get on track more it's not JUST about the total calories anymore. I can't live that skinnycow/100caloriepack way of thinking because that's how I coped all the other times I lost weight and eventually failed. No risk of that happening here and now, but I just want to get away from that. Treats are fine but you know one or two not half of my calories for the day.
-muse
Good morning everyone.
Muse, whenever you get the schedule just drop me a PM. I am in no hurry. I had to quit running for 2 weeks due to a foot injury. So I started back doing C25k, 30 minute thing this week to get back ionto it. It's amazing how much momentum you lose in just 2 weeks of not doing anything, geeeez. I was suffering yesterday on the TM.
I got to where I am steering clear of the 100 calorie pack and stuff anymore too, because I DO want more than just 1. Especially the "sweet" ones. For snacks I like to have fruit, or nuts or something like that. I'm trying VERY hard to keep trigger foods out of this house. I only have 13 weeks left to try and get 30 to 40 lbs off. I don't think it'll happen. It does on TBL campus but not in REAL life...O'well.
It's a good thing that I ate healthy during the day yesterday, because I totally pigged out at dinner! Drinks were fine - I had white wine and a FEW sips of a pear martini (didn't even drink half - it was too strong for me). So that's not bad. For my appetizer, I got shrimp cocktail. Let me tell you, if you are out to dinner and getting an appetizer, it is FANTASTIC! Only about 100 cals for 4 jumbo shrimp and 1 tbsp cocktail sauce. Even better than salad because usually they put cheese and nuts and dressing on the salad. For my entree, I got the kobe beef, which... I was actually kind of disappointed by. (But of course, I still ate the whole thing - I am still not good about leaving food on my plate). I couldn't find the proper calorie info for it, so I just logged it as steak, but kobe is supposed to be lower in fat/calories than other cuts of beef, so that's good at least.
The problem came when I got the "truffled tater tots", which I had been told were to die for. And they were. We got several of them for the table, and I had about a cup of them, which is a LOT. Then for dessert, three of us got desserts to share with each other, but we got three desserts, so it wasn't really "sharing" so much as everyone eating 1/3 of different things, so it added up to one dessert. Oops. I felt SO sick to my stomach after all that food; in fact, I'm still feeling full and bloated and awful this morning. For breakfast I'm just going to have an orange to try to get the nasty feeling to go away, and in general I'm going to try to eat lightly today.
The good news is, I "only" went 900 calories over (600 over if you look at net calories). I know that is a lot, but it's not nearly as bad as a big splurge would have been a few weeks ago. I ate 2500 calories total yesterday, which is certainly not on plan, but also is not that far from what a normal, non-dieting person would eat. And the day before I was at 571 net calories (at least, if you believe that running 5 miles at a 9 min pace burns 600 cals, stairstepping for 5 mins burns 40, and spinning for 45 burns 300), so averaging it out isn't too bad. Now I just need to stay on plan through the weekend, which should be easier because I'm flying out tonight and will be home where I can cook! Hurray
Have a great day everyone - will check back in later.

Good morning! Weight is at 194 and change this morning, so that's almost a complete pound loss. Woo hoo! I am currently about to jump on my treadmill since I don't have to be at work this morning. How exciting, a morning workout!
I forgot who asked but the Crystal Methos is like techno music. There are words but not like regular lyrics. If you go to itunes you can sample the track for 30 seconds to get an idea. The track was designed for running, so it has a slower warm up then a faster beat for the running segment then a cooldown I haven't heard yet since my ipod died haha. And for the record I didn't do the entire thing running
Well I work until 5 today so I am going to try to rush to pick my kids up, then rush back to meet my trainer for her 5:30 group training class but we'll see. That's why I am getting in a workout now.
Oh my, it’s been so long since I’ve done personals. Work has been crazy the past 10 days or so, I have been struggling with a cold, sore throat etc. I don’t have the sore throat anymore, but I’ve had a terrible sinus headache for a week or so. I probably won’t get everyone, but I’ll try to hit the highlights.
DK – It’s nice to do some non-traditional exercising like walking the dog, yard work, etc. Time flies by quicker which is nice.
Cassie – Congrats on the 3.5 lbs. That’s awesome! I know it’s frustrating to not reach your goal by the time you want, but you are so close. And look where you’ve come from. Don’t dwell on the 7 pounds to go but on the 83 pounds you’ve already come. You should be so proud! Good luck on all of the schoolwork.
Tina – Congrats on doing so well with your OA. I’m glad that it is helping you so much. I hope your eye gets better soon.
Catsgetnhealthy – Congrats on making it into the 230’s. It’s a great accomplishment and it’s great to celebrate our accomplishments. Spring Cleaning….I need to do that too. Think of all the calories you’ll burn!
Danielle – I’ve enjoyed your MPMU page! You and Melissa are going to have to give Bob a big hug from all of us when you get to meet him in person. (the power of positive thinking, right?!)
Kari – I hope you can overcome the desire to stress eat. I’m a stress eater so I understand the struggle. You have to try to remember how you feel after you’ve done it. I always regret it which leads to more stress. Hang in there! I’m glad you could throw out the temptations. I hope your life becomes less stressful soon.
Hun.e.B. – I just have to say that I really enjoyed the updated hula hooping video. Count me impressed! We’ve missed having you around as much as usual. You are truly inspiring and I enjoy hearing from you. I hope your life tames down very soon!
Jen – Don’t let the scale get you down. You’ve got a great perspective to keep going. I’ve been starting my days with exercise, too. While most of the time I would rather stay in bed, it’s nice to have accomplished something before my shower or breakfast.
Andi – congrats on the 3 pounds and during TOM no less. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Terapet – Sounds like you’re doing great with the exercise. I just started some strength training and have been using 5 lb weights. I’m so weak that I cannot imagine using anything more. I can’t wait until the day that I look at 5 lb-ers and think how light they are!
Counting – I hope you have a wonderful trip! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Melissa 73 – Congrats on the 25 lb magnet and 10% key chain. That’s so exciting and I know how you were looking forward to it! I’ve looked at your weight numbers and now your inches lost and you are doing amazing! You’re a rock star!! Thanks for being an inspiration to me and so many of the rest of us!
Cat – Your Nike + track sounds great. I’m not a runner but have been trying to find some music to play on my iPod during some of my exercise videos that I’ve done so many times I can recite every word. The BK is done and over. Way to go to moving on and not let it deter you. Yeah for having your trainer say you are smaller in the belly area. That’s so rewarding!
Diva – thanks for the encouragement. I’m a little freaked out by the cholesterol levels, but I’m proud that I’ve been doing things in the past 3 months to improve my health.
Laura – ditto on the encouragement. Thanks! I’m glad you could resist the cookies. I know you’ll compensate for the extra calories from last night! You’re so good at the exercise! Any marathons this weekend?
Emily – It’s great to hear from you. I could echo your sentiment on (stupidly - meaning me not you ) playing around for too many years in losing weight. This is my time to do it, and it’s yours too. Let’s make this our year! Congrats on resisting the cupcakes!
Rennie – Your husband sounds great! I need to buy some new clothes for my vacation in Florida this summer, but I’ve been holding off hoping to be a different size.
Muse – They had a special machine that they put our blood work in. It only took 5 minutes to get the results. Your bike looks cool. I have never been much of a bike rider. My parents didn’t let us ride much when we were little because they were afraid of us getting hurt by cars, etc. I’ve never been that good. When I was in high school, I started a babysitting job for the summer for 2 very rambunctious boys. On the first day, I rode their mom’s bike and we all went on a bike ride. Half way through the ride, the boys looked back and I was lying on the ground because I had fallen. Way to gain their respect on the first day! Boy that was a long summer! I hope you can get your eating back to healthier selections. I really have to limit my treats or I can go overboard quickly.
Just wanted to check in with you all. I've been sick the last couple of days. Today, I'm feeling a little better although it's moved to my chest. I hope I don't get bronchitis. I need to be able to sing a lot over the next couple of weeks. On Easter, I'm in a quartet so I can't hide behind other choir members.
I've been good with the exercise until I got sick. As soon as my chest clears, I'll be back to starting each day with exercising.
I'm proud of all of you. You are making such great changes! I love reading about Tina and OA, Muse and her bike, Melissa, Andi, and Danielle and the MPMU, Laura and her races, and all of you who are doing C25K. You are all amazing!
Its been a couple days for me here, you all have been so busy! I love that there are so many active ladies on here, that we have all stayed commited to our goals and to eachother. For that, I thank you!
Karen, I'm so glad you are enjoying our MPMU page! We have had a lot of fun with it and it has definitely kept me motivated, taking me out of my comfort zone a bit. Melissa & I are gonna have a "hula-off" soon, I gotta practice a bit more, she's got a few weeks on me. That is fantastic that you got to get some screenings done and were able to find out results almost immediately. You ARE doing great things for yourself, you have alot to be proud of!
Laura, you are doing a great job with everything. I, for one, could not handle all the eating out you do!
Cakses, hope you enjoyed that morning workout! Your numbers just keep getting better and better!
Diva, glad to see you getting back into the C25K. Those 100 cal. packs are a slippery slope with me--especially the "grasshopper" ones! Too much like Mint Girl Scout cookies!!! You're doing yourself a better thing by choosing fruits, veggies, & nuts.
Emily, who needs those nasty ole cupcakes anyways, right? Way to stay strong and true to yourself!
Muse, you are doing so well with the run/walk thing! I had to giggle to myself that you mentioned you "only" did 45 min. of exercise..... and here I finished 45 and I'm wiped out! lol I can't wait to hear how much fun you're having on your new bike!
Renny, dh gets a gold star for being so supportive and excited about your journey. Bathing suit shopping... Nope, not gonna happen in this house!
Tina, again, I am so thrilled to hear how much you are enjoying your OA meetings. Its wonderful to hear you talk about feeling relief from obsession--something that I tend to fall into as well-- its comforting when you know you're in control, isn't it?
Good morning ladies! Well I am doing good today. Need to really focus on getting my water in. Haven't been journaling, haven't been losing. Hmmmm see a trend? lol DS gets to ride the school bus again, arggg he keeps getting kicked off. And he is in ISS for the next 3 days. I tell ya, TEENAGERS! DD is sick, I think she has strep. The rapid culture they did yesterday came back negative, but they sent it to the lab. The dr thought she had strep too. So he was surprised that it came back negative. Her glands are huge and have white spots on them and she's got a temp. So I am keeping her home today too just in case she does have it, don't want to contaminate everyone at school. Well hope everyone else is having a great day!
Well I just finished a 3mile WATP dvd and some weights. I have been having alot of fun with the dvd's lately, I'm glad because I was sort've starting to fall into the "I don't want to exercise" mode again! I am shopping around for a treadmill as well, I think it will motivate dh to "move" a little bit each day as well. That's my hope, anyways! LOL
Jen, we must've been posting at the same time! I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Hope you're feeling better quickly so you can sing your heart out. I grew up in the east valley of SD, near Rancho Bernardo? I lived on my own tho in Carlsbad for a while and LOVED it!
Have a fantastic day ladies, you're all superstars!!!
Hope you all ladies are doing well! I am still job searching so life is pretty crazy still.....I am up a bit from TOM coming but should be done by time for weigh in!!!!! Well my son is calling me but just wanted to check in!
utah
Hope you find the job you are looking for. Not much around here. I have been looking for four years, since they closed my warehouse down.
Danielle
I love Leslie. Her videos are so fun. He has always been this way. He is supportive of everything I choose to do.
Ideal
I do the same thing. There are a couple of things I just don't have in the house at all.
ksk
I am a very lucky woman.
Diva
This has become my favorite snack. 1 cup 0% Fat Free Skim Milk ( only thing I use this milk for ), 1 serving Yogurt Low Fat Soft Frozen ( 1/2 cup ), 1 serving Breyers Double Churn Light Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream ( 1/2 cup ), ( has more fat than fat free but less carbs than fat free ), 1/2 a banana. All tossed into the blender. Fills some food groups, tastes great. Is only 290 calories, 5 grams fat and 49 carbs.
Kari
I want to say thank you for keeping your sick child home from school. I don't even know the times my children got sick because someone sent a child to school so sick they couldn't sit up at their desk. Hope it turns out to be nothing to serious and feeling great happens soon.
Okay let see if I can catch up a little, I'm gonna miss tons and I'm sorry but for the sake of time I'll do my best! Ya know, I'm about meeting'd out! I dont even have a job and I think I've got more meetings going than an exec! LOL! Really stinking up my food choices though to be on the go go go so much. This is where planning is KEY and I've not been doing it. I've also noticed that being so busy, keeps me from my support group and another reason I've made lousy choices! Its almost spring break though! I cannot wait!! Okay here we go:
Laura - way to go on skipping those cookies!! Its good to set that goal, of course a cookie or 2 never killed anyone but we gotta pick our indulgences. I've managed to avoid the Girl Scouts and I didnt buy any cookie dough from our fundraiser! Keep up the good work!
Aww Cat...all your hardwork is showing!! Enjoy those compliments girl you earned them!!
Muse...7 minute runs!! Girl you are rocking that program! I died out! But just seeing where you are at now makes me want to get right back out there! Excellent job!
Emily...excellent job saying no to cupcakes!! But maybe not going to bed hungry. I know if I do that the next day I'm in for a world of hurt, it always catches up to me.
Andi...yes Danielle and I will be continuing to do our MPMU site, I love it! I think since we are so far apart its important to keep ourselves in check with each other. Thanks for asking and we'll be visiting your site as well to check out your successes as we go along!
Diva...I hear ya I havent ran for over 2 weeks I think, I'd be lucky to do 60 seconds but I'm gonna try tonight! I cant start with 100 calorie packs, I'm not sure if its the sugar or what but it seems like once I have one of those my eating for the day takes a nosedive, I start to get REALLY hungry. I'm better off with some fruit or yogurt or a whole wheat pita w/ laughing cow cheese.
Laura...what is a "net calorie" I've never heard that term before. I know net carbs but never a net calorie, my understanding is a calorie is a calorie, its based on the energy it takes to raise the temp of a gram of water by 1 degree or something like that. Just curious!
Cat...WOOOHOOO 194!! Excellent job!!
LOL Karen...I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I enjoyed doing it!! Just check it out in a month or so I'll really be hooping LOL!!
Jen...I so hope you are feeling better! My dd just got the crud last night its not fun! Take good care of you, you'll get back into the swing of those great habits as soon as you are well!
Danielle.... been practicing?? LOL!
Kari...got that water bottle handy?? Drink up girl! LOL! I hope dd is feeling better soon!
Barbara... I hope AF leaves you alone and in one piece LOL! I have a feeling she is gonna wreak havoc on me this month...I'm scared! LOL!
Rennie... How's everything going with you? You are so great at supporting everyone else and doing personals!
Good evening ladies! It's so nice here today It's 60 degrees and I'm getting ready to go for walk with my SIL. I'm so excited to walk outside again. My eye is still swollen...whatever! I swear if this is pink eye and two doctors told me it wasn't I may very well freak out. I mean if it is pink eye I'm sure the rest of my house will get it. This is just frustrating me. I don't understand what it could be, and I'm sick of being house bound because of it. The kids got to play outside today after school. They really enjoyed that. I was having jump rope challenges with the kids. WOW that is a workout! I smashed Joey though... He thought he could beat his old mama, but I whooped him!LOL! What else is going on with me...oh today is day 18 of no binging YAY to that! My OA meeting last night was interesting. It was just me and one other lady, and I swear she was falling asleep while reading aloud. Finally I said "would you like me to finish?" I felt really bad for her. She said she was wiped out when she arrived, boy she wasn't lying!LOL! Good meeting though and again I left feeling good. I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday already. This week went by pretty fast for me...how about you all? So all in all things are going really good here. I like this little tease of Spring we're having. I bracing myself for the last big snow that always comes in March. Feels good though to open the windows and air the house out some. So that is about all for me. Hope your all having a great day!
Melissa- You need a little get away it sounds like
Utah- Good luck with finding a job...that is pretty stressful!
Danielle- I've been taping a bunch of shows of FitTv and like you they kinda got me back into wanting to exercise. It's fun to mix it up every now and then Great job
Kari- My daughter just got over strep...hope yours feels better soon
Jen- Feel better soon hun!! It's good to give exercise a little rest though while your not feeling well, especially when it's in your chest. That is just miserable! Sending (((((healthy vibes)))) your way
Karen- Sinus headaches are the worst! It sometimes helps to put a heating pad on my face...on low of course Feel better soon hun~
cakses- I love working out in the morning. I can't wait till all my kids are in all day school, so I can hit the gym right when they get on the bus. Just having it done for the day is a great feeling~
Laura- With the way you work out girl I don't think going over your cals for one day is going to make a dent in your progress
Rennie- Hello...how is your day going hun? Have a nice evening
Roni- Hey girl...you sound like your doing so much better. That makes me really happy. I was worried about my girl for a while there Hey I saw that your close to breaking a pretty cool mildstone...breaking into onederland! Congrats now because I know your going to make it this week
Muse- I was scared to death to go to OA...it took me months to even make the phone call! It was really hard for me to finally admit to perfect strangers that I have a problem. I hear ya also about eating empty calories even though they are low in calories...did that make sense?!? It's something I'm working on myself. Oh and great job on those runs...that is fantastic. I've said it before on here... I always think oh I would love to run and I can picture myself running, but once I start my butt is hitting me in the back it feels like and 3 min. in I feel like I may cough up a lung! So I give kudos to any runner! Great job
