Thanks for the congrats, ladies. I think we're going to do a destination wedding in Kauai, HI. I've looked around at some things and I'm waiting for some locations to get back to me about availability. My fiance and I did some pre-planning before getting engaged (setting up a budget and such) which is why I'm already a little ahead of the game.
I won't know until Friday morning if I made it to 199. My siggy is up to date with my last weigh in though (on friday). I think I'm going to weigh-in Thanksgiving morning this week. I'm not afraid of overeating, but I am afraid of the sodium and water retention carrying over to a Friday weigh-in. I'm not sure how much closer I'll get to 199 this week.... if I don't make it, I'll be so close I could stick my tongue out and lick it..........wait....... that sounds disgusting!!! lol. Okay, I'm off to check up on the weigh-ins.

OH and Amber - about the photographers I recommended for your wedding... my husband won't fly...lol - but I will

Cassie, Dixie & Andi!!!!! Such great news ladies. You will be my inspiration this week.

I had another slip up last night visiting friends. Here is my problem - on nights that I'm not working overtime and not meeting up with friends I am AWESOME. I eat directly on plan and work out. The problem is I haven't had one of these days in 3 weeks now!

Sooo. . . I now have down pat how to behave food and exercise wise when I'm spending my evenings at home. NOW the key is to learn how to get my eating and exercise right when I'm going OUT with friends and family or working overtime and dealing with the food buffet.

So, that's my goal this week. (And, what a week to make this goal!!) I will eat ON PLAN when dining out and spending time with friends & family. ALSO, I will fit my workouts in.

How have I made moves toward this goal? I'm going to lunch at PF Chang's today to take a friend out for her birthday. I have pre-checked the menu and am ordering the SHRIMP DUMPLINGS (STEAMED) as my meal. Nothing else. NO SOUP. NO APPETIZER. NO RICE.

I called my fiance and asked him to bring our workout gear when he picks me up tonight. We are supposed to be stair climbing on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays. BUT, tomorrow night we're taking a client of his out to eat and Friday work is closed. So, we're going to work out again tonight.

The next step is to pre-pick my dinner for tomorrow night. Any suggestions? We're eating at NoMi.

*whew* This is hard work!

Lightbulb Helpful Little Reminders

Hello Black Team!
I know I mentioned this to someone before, but while I was shopping at the grocery store today without a list (stupid, stupid me ) and starving like I've never tasted food before , I went over to the pet food aisle and picked up a 20lb bag of dog food to remind myself of what I've accomplished so far in the last 10 weeks. Granted that the weight is not distributed evenly, but it dang sure reminded me of what I was doing this for. I didn't even have to walk with the bag to remember what 271lbs felt like. Just picking it up was like a big old boom of thunder, or maybe like a "you could've had a V8" thump on the head.

I highly recommend these little reminders when...
- you think you've accomplished nothing
- the scale shows a 1 or 2lb loss
- you're hungry for everything in sight and you have a big empty shopping cart, and a checkcard

I think the smallest sized bag is 4 pounds, but you can always go and grab several 1lb bags of flour. I know it helped me, because now I'm at home having a normal, healthy dinner.

Julz:
I know we didn't make the 22lbs goal this week, but I love that you are so uplifting and motivating and supportive. for being you!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

at the "could've had a V8" comment! I've had those!!!! I like your suggestions though. It's nice to have a reminder of what you've lost (that sounds funny to say). Our son weighs about 36 pounds - and everytime I pick him up I think about that I've almost lost 36 pounds.... and he is a solid little man.

Congrats to everyone on thier weight losses so far!! And to those who gained like me, this is a new week, so keep your spirits up!!

Amber congrats on the engagement! I am so happy for you. Just think how amazing you will look in your dress. I think a destination wedding would be so cool!

I did gain some but I expected a little but not quite that much after comming back from vacation plus TOM being there. But what I don't understand is I think I actually ate better on vacation than I normally do. I was trying my hardest to eat good, and I thought I had. Plus all the walking we did, I haven't walked that much in a while. We walked everywhere!! I am going to chalk the gain up to TOM! Since I don't believe I would have gained had I not been on my period. So I will just behave myself and hopefully *fingers crossed* I will have a better week this week!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! I keep telling myself I am not going to deprive myself of anything, just have a smaller portion of what I want.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Did you see that? Did you see that? That's what I saw on the scale this morning!!!!!!!!!! I am about to pass out! That's a 4 pound loss for me this week and now I can go into Thanksgiving Dinner and enjoy every minute of it. I'll have one week from tomorrow to undo any damage I do today (which, one "off" day) won't set me back too terribly bad, I don't think. I kicked myself SO STINKIN hard this past week to be able to meet my Thanksgiving goal, and holy cow, I did it!

I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!! Enjoy it!!

PS, I took the picture with my camera phone and then couldn't find the cord to connect it to the computer - so I took a picture of the phone with our regular camera...lol
