My "official" weigh-in day isn't until tomorrow... BUT, because of Halloween (UGH!) and TOM (who should be here tomorrow), I am going to take a freebie week. I'm bloated! So, I won't weigh-in again (or for my "halloween mini-goal weigh-in) until next week...yay!

ALSO, a very cool story to tell you all............ It's a long one (I tried to make it short, but there's no way to do that..lol)

Hubby lost job in January. Just recently got a job. We were barely making enough money to pay the bills each month. I kept telling everyone "if anything happened to our van, we wouldn't have the money to fix it....". Our van is very nice. '99 Honda. 78,000 miles. Fully paid for (we bought it after we sold our house). So, we made the decision to move in with hubby's parents. So, from our old place to the in-laws (where we now live) is about a 25 minute drive. This past weekend while bringing stuff down here, the check engine light came on.... talk about perfect timing! Not that I think that God made our van break down, but I did consider that to be a confirmation that we made the right decision by moving in here. One week earlier and we would have been without a van. We now have the money to get it fixed and don't have to stress about what we're going to do about it.

So.....we took it to a car shop in Tulsa Tuesday. They called later that day and said that it was a problem in the transmission and something they couldn't fix. We'd have to take it to a Honda dealership. Oye.
Brett took the van to Don Carlton Honda in Tulsa. They called him with the update yesterday. So, I'm telling you the update now.....

Brett calls and says the infamous line "I've got good news, and I've got really bad news, which do you want first". I said "gimmee the bad news".

Apparently, long story short, the transmission is dying. And, something about a computer that keeps restarting itself. We have to replace the transmission. I ask the cost of this. Brett said "$3500 on the low end". My stomach sank. I thought to myself .... $3500.... that's about 2 1/2 months worth of Brett's paychecks.... not impossible for us though...

So, I said "what's the good news". Brett said that Don Carlton Honda was so shocked that a Honda with only 78,000 miles on it was having this kind of transmission problems that they took it upon themselves to call the bigwigs at the Honda corporation. The bigwigs were flabbergasted by it as well, that one of their Honda vans which has hardly even been broken in, is having to get a new transmission already. So........ wait for it........

Honda has to offered to cover 100% of the cost of putting a new transmission in our van!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will have our van (with a brand spankin new transmission in it for FREE) back later today!!!

God is so good, people!

Julz - That's great news about Honda covering the cost of your new transmission. I hope you get along well with your in-laws. Mine are evil.

LOL... I always thought mine were evil too... this week has gone great. I haven't felt like pulling my hair out (or theirs) one time. The last time we tried to move in with them, we lasted an hour before we couldn't stand it anymore. So, being able to go a full week with no problems is great! I don't want to jinx it saying it'll always be sunshine and roses..but so far so good

DH is estranged from his father, hasn't spoken to him in at least 11 years. And the last time DH spoke to his mom she asked him if he was "still living with" me. Um, yeah, we've been married for 6 years, I'm still here. He hung up on her. My BILs are good though, and I love their wives (and my new neice). DH's sisters never come around unless they want something, but they are okay too. MIL though, is a pain in the hiney.

At least they make my family look normal.

That's a wonderful story Julz - just when you start to think there is no integrity anywhere - you hear a story like yours. I agree with the others - tell EVERYONE in Tulsa this story. What a great dealership! Glad that you got a much needed break.

Hey Red Team!

Need to ask you all a huge favor.... I'm not sure if you've seen the Survey that's stickied at the top of this forum, but its for a project I'm doing at school. I still need about 15 people to respond before Sunday night.

If you haven't had a chance to fill it out and pm it to me pretty please do so before November 4th!

Thanks!

I should be doing homework, but wanted to check in here first. I am BUMMED over TOM...I just can't get my weight to go down! I'm going to hang in there though, because it should be gone in a couple of days. I'll have to deal with a bad WI on Monday though.
*sigh*

Post My Apologies To My Team Mates!!!

(My computer at home was going to slow so I am here at work and will try to post my novel before my boss shows up) LOL

I know I dont have to explain myself but I feel I need to. I have been in and out of the competition and mainly also I just need some help and support (I think that sounded a bit greedy) But I do need help from my teammates.

The past month and I half has one been crazy rollercoaster and just as soon as I think its over BAM! Something else comes my way. So, here is my journey:

It all started when my boyfriends sister wrecked the car. (They share the car) She ran a red light and a car hit her. The car is fixable (excuse my bad spelling) but it can be repaired. The only problem is their dad only had liability and as we all know that only covers the other car NOT their car. So they have to put out about $5000 or so to fix it. At this very moment, my boyfriend is getting fired from his job for always showing up late. His sister started later than him and so since she dragged her feet he was always late. I dont know how many of you are from California or Northern California but he lived in Tracy. (Away from civilization, though its a growing city) and there is no BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) out there which everyone that needs to get around relys on unless you have a car and want to just drive there. And he worked out in Concord so one way it was about an hour or so drive. ONE WAY!

Anyways, so for the past month little by little (without telling his mom) we were moving his things out of his room. Then finally on Halloween (when she came back Nicaragua, Central America) we just told her that he was going to move in with me and wow! she took it better then I thought.

On top of that he got really really sick so I was the one doing all the moving and the leg work (is that the phrase? lol) and NOW ugh! because I was a good girlfriend I'm sick.

On top of that I am the type of person that needs someone there to motivate me and my gym buddy totally bailed on me. So I was by myself. I was doing good until he moved in. *Sigh* I know no excuse.

I found a new gym buddy who has always gone to the gym but didnt know that she also liked going to the same gym I do. So she got her ingrown toenail fixed (I've never had one so dont know what that is about) and am ready to take on this weight loss.

The reason for all this you may ask? I have gained weight I am up to 223lbs as of this morning. (I weighed myself before coming to work) And thats the reason why I took the freebie last week because I thought I was going to have a week to get it back down.

But I just wanted to let my teammates know what was going on and why I have been MIA. I do come in here and check the posts and read what people write so I am coming in but I dont have time to sit and write to my fellow friends

Thank you for letting me vent *slash* explain and I even though I am sick I am hoping that this is a start (or the continuing) of getting down to my goal weight even if I dont make my small goal weight.

Thank You,

Mally!
