Hello everybody!
12/30: 239.1
Today's plan
coffee, scrambled eggs
chicken, salad
beef soup (meat and veggies, salt, pepper)
fried zucchini, chicken or pork, salad
Yesterday
I stuck with the eating part but added some fried zucchini (love that stuff) but didn't walk the miles I initially planned on walking.
carvinmom
Welcome! That is exactly how I look it at, too: one day at a time!
Good luck sticking with it today!
wannaskipandlaugh
Good job getting back to walking each day!
Exercise is always a struggle for me. Yesterday I was so tempted to make bad choices but quickly got on the forum, read LULU NH's inspirational saying for the day and went and looked at people's pics on the GOAL or MINI GOAL section of the forum. The result, I stuck with it and didn't eat that pasta I was looking at in the fridge. I can't get rid of foods I shouldn't eat because DH is perfectly healthy and fit, so he can eat anything he wants. I just have to be strong and control myself!
jessiegreene
I am so sorry that you are not feeling well!
Your meals always sound good!
I hope you feel better soon!

Bought some beef bones to make bone soup. Holy cow they are so expensive, bare bones comparable to meat cuts!!!! Crazy!!!!
I also bought some zucchini and I love it sliced and fried in oil with a little salt and pepper.
Have a wonderful day Ladies, with good food choices!

Did good today despite immune system rash itching... Missed pt cause of so much snow and 25 below. I have two new knees and degenerative back so my exercising is limited. They let me come in and work on the machines for low impact... my goal is to walk better come spring and get into a healthier lifestyle...glad I've started writing my food log and found great support!!
B. Coffee/cream ,protein drink eas chocolate
lunch. Hamburg cheese taco meat on bed of yellow and red peppers
Supper two chicken patties with veggies

Never good at drinking water.. Got to get more in so maybe I should keep track.
Have a good tomorrow , til check in time. Hugs!!!

I love this thread! Thank you Healthy for starting it!

I was good yesterday.. tho I still had 2 cookies... THEY ARE ALL GONE now hooray! no more temptation. I did walk 5 miles last night and it showed as I lost almost 2 lbs... squeezing out the water/fat !

How is everyone celebrating tonight? I am treating myself to some cheese and maybe a low carb pizza (see Linda's recipes)... or someone had posted a cream cheese pizza concoction months ago (Jessie???) that I have the recipe for... hmmmmmmmmmm or a salad.. LOL either way... I am ending the year weighing less than last year and that is a win in my book!

Today: 1 egg, butter, 2 sausage links and 1 oz cheddar cheese
lunch: 3 oz Boarshead blackened turkey/ mayo/provolone roll ups
dinner.. see above.. depending if I get off of work early.. or if I can talk a friend into going out - then a cobb style salad!

Amended: Lunch = Boss bought - Cheeseburger and fries Dinner a bowl of popcorn.. then Prosecco, pizza, etc bad bad bad

I am so honored and glad to be a part of all your lives! Thank you for sharing and CARING! LOVE YOU ALL!

12/31: 239.3 (.2 gain from yesterday, frustrating!)
My conclusion is that as time passes, exercise is not a choice but a must. I haven't exercised in 3 days, I think, and it can't be good. I also have to be nice to myself and - while pushing myself to stay motivated - not allow myself to feel down and give up. One day at a time!
Today's plan
Food planned: chicken, sausage, cucumber, salads, sautéed mushrooms, coffee, tea, water. I am not good about the times of day: I might eat a salad for breakfast, sometimes and that is OK.
Finish cleaning the house, have it all nice and how I like it. Get something finished for work.
Start the New Year with a clean house, prepped foods, a positive attitude, determination and gratitude for all the blessings in my life.

carvinmom
I am sorry you missed the appt due to bad weather. You have a great attitude and I am sure you will walk comfortably before spring.
I also struggle with water intake. I saw a pin on pinterest recently, where people labeled two water bottles. I have a huge water bottle I bought off amazon but cannot drink properly while at work.
Here is the pic I found and thought was a good idea!

Things happen. I am so impressed that while sick you still had the strength to perform successfully at both jobs and stay positive. You know, enjoy those margaritas and count them as your total carb, if you want. They even make margarita mix low or no sugar, if I think about it like the Skinny Girl version of booze.
wannaskipandlaugh
Congratulations on weighing less than last year. That is indeed a wonderful accomplishment.
I am also happy to have you Ladies as part of my support system. Thank you!
We are not really celebrating today, low key, at home, watching fireworks and the TV. Might not stay up later than midnight as I would rather wake up at a my normal time and start the day right.

TRADITIONS AND CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
Here are some fun and silly traditions that I have witnessed and heard from my grandma and family growing up.
Start the year right: don't over sleep, get out of the house and do something fun so that the whole year you get to do that, wear something new at midnight and have money on you so that you get new things and have money throughout the year.
Do things you would like to do all year: exercise, eat right, be nice to yourself and others.
Eat 12 grapes and make a wish for each of the 12 seconds before midnight. Hard to do and wouldn't because grapes are high in carbs.
Always make a wish and thank God for all the good people, experiences, things in your life that you had the entire year before the year ends (do it at midnight)
Now, I know these are just traditions, but they make me smile and remind of good times and dear people. I tend to follow them though (no grapes this year). Funny, I know!
Do you have any traditions related to the New Year and New Year's Day?

Good luck and have a wonderful day, Ladies!!

I know and I am so inspired by your journey... as well as appreciate the hard nose no nonsense approach to doing it right and being a purist... I was a member of several of them but had to drop all but the one because of all the confusion and misleading information.

Healthy, it really is not ok to drink them at all but instead of chemical laden mixes I will hand squeeze limes, lil orange and quality tequila.... at least that way it is fresh, I am really hoping it knocks the snot in my head loose lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES....

Jessie.. I hope you are feeling better and that the 2nd job did not sap your strength!

Happy New Years to you all! I send you Happy Wishes and Peace and Joy!

I am grateful that I can start each new day anew. The slate is clean. Already had 8 oz of water and threw away some stuff. Intention today is to clean out more of my stuff... throw away old freezer food (that's older than 6 months and there is ALOT of that - storing for hurricane season and its over) Going to dinner at my parents. I had asked for my Dad's lasagna last year (when I was NOT following the plan) and my Dad did not make it... Today he is.. sigh... well.... 1 more meal that I will deal with and enjoy and not feel bad about as I had asked and I am grateful that my Dad is here to make it (He is 83) )... so yes.. working on feeling less guilty for my decisions and just looking forward to the next moment when I can decide better!

Food for the day:
Breakfast - 2 eggs/butter/2 sausage patties
NO LUNCH
Dinner - Romaine lettuce/shredded CCheese/ Ranch and Dad's rolled up Lasagna rolls...
LOTS OF WATER! LOL

Eating today:

Hello Ladies!
Today: 239.1 (up .6 from yesterday)
Yesterday I didn't follow the my personal plan. I had a chicken sandwich and 2 oranges. I don't feel guilty about it and am certainly not giving up.
Today's food choices:
coffee, 2 fried eggs, 1 sausage link
cucumber, roasted chicken, feta cheese
salad with lots of veggies
lots of water

I am doing what works for me and what has worked in the past: 20 or less grams of carbs, not 100% induction.
What I am going to change is this:
I am going to have almonds every now and then and carefully count the carbs and also have cottage or feta cheese every once in a while. I am most certainly not going to be hard on myself, after all these foods are Atkins approved even if not all for induction.
Following what works best for me keeps me from going for the bad stuff like breads, potatoes, etc, etc, etc.
So, moving along and staying positive.

jessiegreene
You are funny about the gym membership. Great job getting rid of all the tempting alcohol and WOW more power to you for having such incredible will power when it comes to foods!!!
Abstracted
Welcome and best of luck to you! It is great to have you here!
mom2threebratz
I actually eat less and am less hungry when I am at work. For me personally, the key is to have lots of food options prepped and ready to go so that I am not tempted to eat bad stuff when I get home.

Have a good night Ladies!

Jessie... Good for you going to the Gym.. Heck.. they take your money, they have to take you!

Abstracted - Temptation is just the hardest and I understand your feelings... I took get that every day and find it hard to throw away money (food). The sooner it is gone (off plan food) the sooner it is not a temptation. I LOVE cheese too and used to snack on it all the time. Its filling which is nice. Such a lesson this life is for us all!

Healthy.. you are doing so great! Thank you for your posts and encouragement. I LOVE IT!

Everyone else! HELLO New Year and NEW YOU! Just think what you will be looking like/wearing/feeling in just 1 month..

Today for me: (ON PLAN!!!!!)

Breakfast - 1 egg/butter/1 oz cheddar cheese and 2 sausage links
Lunch - -0-
Dinner - 2 pieces of Fried Tilapia with melted cheese/mayo and 1/2 a roll. 3 cookies yep.. I succumbed But I did walk 5 miles...

Water with fresh squeezed Meyer lemons from my parents yard
Walk tonight? I got a flashlight for Christmas from my walking buddy.. so gonna get my arse out there!
