Star - I Love it!
Here is one. It really is for someone who lives in Western NY, but some of it is universal for any snow bound city.
You're From Buffalo, NY if:
1) You've used your back porch or the trunk of your car as a fridge/deep freeze.
2) You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
3) You have used a down comforter in the summer.
4) You drive at 65 mph through a raging blizzard, barely flinching.
5) People say they live in Buffalo when their mailing address is West Seneca. (suburb)
6) There is a mini mall every 1/4 mile, if not, you're in Niagara County.
7) You carry jumper cables in your car and your wife knows how to use them.
8) There are 7 empty cars running in the parking lot at the Wegman's (grocery store) at any given time.
9) You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
10) Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
11) You think sexy lingerie is tube socks and flannel pajamas. (it's not?)
12) You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, construction.
13) You don't consider what Domino's or Pizza Hut sell as real Pizza.
14) They only call it a Snow Day when it's over 7 feet of snow in the ground.
15) You can spell and say Cheektowaga, Lackawanna and Tonawanda. (3 of our suburbs)
16) When the most common vehicle in town is the Salt Truck
17) You actually understand these jokes and forward them to all your friends from NY.

Haahahaha! Those are so true! I can pronounce those cities names too!! And I'm a west coaster!!! But...here's why...
My whole mothers side of the family is from Tonawanda. Born and raised. When they got old enough to move, they all moved to California cept for 1 sibling. My aunt. She's still there along with my cousins. Brrrr....I told her it was cold here 1 day...she goes "whats cold to you?" I said 75°. She busted up laughing!!! She goes, "Thats T shirt & Shorts weather for me!!!"
Somewhere there in Buffalo there is a little coffee shop on a street corner called "Michaels". My grandparents were the original owners. I'd love to see it again!!! Someday...

Hmmm... not sure where that coffee shop is.
It confuses a lot of new people around here that there are 3 Tonawandas. (the town, the city, and north).

Me either...but if I ever get back there again I plan on hunting that place down. It can't be that hard...I mean how many "Michaels" coffee shops are in Buffalo?? (with my luck it will be 200 or so... )

Thanks, Squeak... I could totally relate to most of those.
There's a billboard here in Ottawa with an ad for Columbia clothing. There's a big picture of a parka, and underneath it says, "In the Yukon, this is lingerie."

I wear longjohns around the house at night. Total comfort, warmth, no waist. With big socks....life is good.
