Just got home form the gym, where I had a good workout and now resting while I drink my vanilla milk. LOL sounds funny to say vanilla milk, so used to chocolate milk but it is good. I only have 1/2 cup for my snack though so don't go over 100 cals...it actually comes to 95 cal with non-fat milk.
Zoe - GFY resisting the cookies! You're better than me...but you are right they aren't really worth it. For a working woman, you are doing pretty well with the exercise, Zoe. I didn't exercise at all while i was working..walking the long halls at work was enough...or so, I thought, but then I got fat too during those years! But exercise alone has never taken off the weight for me....it's my eating that is the main cause and cutting back is the only way for me to lose. Of course, exercise is good for the body in other ways.
BTW, I think I told you all wrong about the Take the Stairs Day...it was May 4th but I think I said it was earlier. Anyway I take them whenever I can. At the gym I have to as both my stretch class and the machines are on the second floor.
Riemontana - I hate wearing a bra, and around the house I don't. I wore them all the time when I was working and now I'm in rebellion. LOL I've heard it's a good idea to get properly fitted and I'm always on the look-out for a comfortable bra.
Well, need to get some things done so better say goodbye....
Morning everyone..rainy day here makes the snow melt and i do see some green grass in the dog pen must be all that fertilizer. im tickeled at all the topics we talk about..bra fitting. a constant battle for me becuz i i hate tight.over the yrs ive tried tons but settled on a sport sleep bra for at home, does nothing for the girls but sure is comfy. when i get dressed up i have a more form fitting one and makes things stand at attention.my dh said oh you do have boobs the last time i dressed up. hee hee im all for comfort now that im a "GG" we are taking our retreiver to the vet..shes lost alot of weight and cant keep food down poor thing, shes still frisky tho for 11 yrs old. Hoping your day is awsome congrats for resisting temptations and sticking to our plans.(((hugs))) rosey
Freda - not sure about a Curves...I really need something that I can do at home, though. And it looks like a blast. I was pricing it on ebay....still considering it. Thanks for the feedback!
I have been kind of lurking the last few weeks, I joined quite a few months ago.
Right now I am not following any plan, I have tried lots of them. the one I have found to work for me is Prism, which is a low carb, kind of like South Beach I think, it has phases which are 6 weeks long and its a Christian based plan, with a work book to use and videos, I bought the whole program a few yrs ago after doing one phase, there are support groups, but I don't know of any near me, I went to one but its a 30 mile drive.
right now I am walking at least 3 days a week with a good friend, she had a vein procedure this week and I have a sore knee so we aren't walking much over 30 mins, but any movement is better than none.
I have dr appt to go over my labs tomorrow. I have high cholesterol, low thyroid (have had surgery and also took med to shrink it a few years ago) also high blood pressure, which I could eliminate if I would lose some weight.
I feel so stuck some days, I have been unemployed for 2 yrs, I used to take care of calves on a huge dairy. I used to post in the other forum that Jane moderated, can't even remember the name of it now, LOL.
I really need some accountablility, so plan on checking in here and posting more often.
thanks for listening, Pam
Good Morning, All... hmm, I guess it's afternoon! I spent all morning at a meeting, so my brain is drained.
However! I woke up feeling GOOD! Someone apparently "took the knife" out of my neck and out of my arm! I guess the pain WAS due to the shingles and not the amiable arthritis!! I'm feeling downright perky! I'm nearly all better, so you won't have to listen to me, anymore!!
Bobbi, yes, that cream seems to work on all sorts of muscle pain. I use it on my neck, shoulders, leg, etc. I hope it works for you... it's been a boon to me!
PT/Zoe, how are the wedding plans progressing? Are the soon-to-be in-laws being more respectful? I hope; otherwise, those two will have a harder road to walk.
Nothing much going on. I'm just feeling good and so am happy, happy! Everyone, have a good day!!
The sun may be shining, but it's still not warm! At least I feel better with some sun, even if I am wearing a winter coat outside! Took the kids to their soccer games last night. The coach had called before game time and told the parents to wear boots because of the mud. He wasn't wrong about that one! But the cold was bad also. I wore my winter coat, hat and gloves and sat wrapped up in a blanket and still I was cold. Today is dance. That's inside. ha...but after dance is baseball practice, so I'm bundling up again.
Donna, I Want, no, I NEED that cream. After I work for 12 hours my legs are aching and I still have back pain from time to time. Where do you get it? I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better. You are one of the lucky ones. Shingles can last a long time and be very painful.
Pamb, welcome. Come back and talk to us often. You will find great support here.
OKAnnie, Do you have a WII? There is a Zumba tape for that. Karen31 has the tape but hasn't used it yet. We're waiting for her input....Karen?????
Rosie, Poor doggie. I hope it's ok. I'm all for comfort too. I refuse to wear anything uncomfortable, no matter what.
Mary, It takes both for me to lose weight, the exercise and the diet. I think you need both anyway, for health.
Z, Good for you, for just saying "NO". it's not easy to do with cookies (or somethign else that you really...really, want) I try to distance myself but that isn't always possible. Sometimes it's just will power. I can usually talk myself out of it, but not always.
Bobbi, I've gotten some pretty strange looks when I pulled low fat salad dressing out of my purse too, but I coudl care less. I refuse to eat something loaded with calories just to avoid embarasement. I'm not that easily embarassed any more!
Lynn, I would have done the same thing. No matter how old they are, they are still our children and we help them any way we can. I'm not talking about enabeling, but true help. We all need it sometimes!
Gayle, OK, I'm an organzier too, and I think the idea of same size boxes just makes sense. And making them pretty is just what we do. We're girls! Do you write on the outside of the box, what is inside? It just saves a lot of time.
Karen, I am so jealous of your fresh vegetables. I did buy some fresh corn (flown in from who knows where) and it was really good. Like you, I can make a meal out of it. Come to think of it, 2 years of corn make a great meal, like, for today!
Rie, Hope your week is going better. Sorry you're having a hard time. I guess what ever you do, it can get stressful. You might work behind the scene, but I'm sure you work to make sure that everyone elses job goes smoothely.
Sherry, have a good time visiting with your family. Enjoy every moment that you can.
Freda

Pamb - welcome, I think I remember you. Wanted to tell you that I too was in the Prism program several years ago. It's a great weight loss program but very strict unless it has changed. I lost 33 1/2 lbs in about 2 months, the doctor said I no longer had a weight problem then so I quit. Don't think I should have but I wasn't losing any more ...guess I plateaued and I was frustrated....but I really felt I needed to lose more. But at least I got down to 146 and I felt great!
Don't be like me because I went back to my old ways of eating way too much and gained 2/3 of it back...and now after all this time I'm STILL trying to get back down! So learn all you can and stick to it after you reach your goal weight. It is much harder to do it again..
Freda, sorry, forgot to say thank you for the link. I will check into it. I need something for my leg. The doctor thinks it is nerve pain and says I will probably just have to live with it. I think belladonna has been associated with bad things but not sure about applying topical. I've never heard of Lachesis Mutus but the blood thinner idea kinda scares me. I do take a few meds too so, I'll ask my doctor about it.
Evening all.....Mumbling a bit tonight Again! Had marinated a small London broil before I left for bridge. Came home nuked the fresh green beans and had the meat in the broiler. Had the corn ready for microwave and the electric went out. The whole area. Back out on the lania and started the grill. So split a spoonful of potato salad, hugh bowl of beans and an actually perfect cooked steak. The stupid county road crew were digging/laying a drainage pipe under the road and cut the power. They are lucky they aren't fried!! You wouldn't believe how fast the house warmed up. Feels like summer here.
My bra story....with the weight I've lost past 2 years have gone from 54D to 46C. I understand the band size but the smaller cup just tickled me no end. We will not speak about gravity....no no no
I box everything, too. Thats why I found a box this winter with great shirts I hadn't seen in 10 yrs and they fit perfect. DH had switched the label on it. It was like Christmas. Still missing box with LLBean flannel gowns.
Survivor night....yeeeeah....i don't care who wins just want Boston Rob gone.
The power came on just about time we finished eating.
Welcome Pamb.....
Freda....Coats! Blahhhhhhhhhhhh or should that be Brrrrrr.
Rosie....Years ago our pointer Buckshot loved to back up to bushes and deposit something. It was funny in the Spring when the snow melted and the tall weeds had dehyrated dog plop on top. Kids wouldn't walk in the back woods. Luckly the snow melt would flood the brook and clean it all up. Guess we were the orginal polluters of the Rahitan River.
I need a new chair to sit and read in. I have used a queen anne chair for years but now my back gets weary. Think I'll totter around tomorrow and try out some chairs....any hints?
Listen send some of the rain down here...it is dry and fires are starting....k3
Hey GGs,
Don’t have time to chat. Just wanted to see what everyone’s doing & say Hi! Been busy all day, & now I want to go & color my hair - all these gray roots are starting to bug me! I’m trying the new Clairol foam in medium reddish brown. Hope I like it. Oh, & Zoe, I have gotten to sit in my swing a little, but not near as much as I’d like - I keep having chores & other things I have to dooo! Unfortunately, not having a job does NOT ensure a life of leisure! (Oops, probably you didn’t want to hear that. Sorry! It is better than trying to get everything done, AND hold down a job.) Bye for now. NCNancy
I was planning to do personals, but I am at my auto dealer getting my car serviced and the computers here (7 available for those waiting for their cars) have ONLY the internet - no word processing programs.
When I do the personals, I always do all the quotes & then cut and paste into WORD where I write my responses and edit. Then cut and paste back into 3FC. Otherwise, I spend lots of time writing responses and it gets lost.
At any rate, today, after I get my car back, I am going to my old college (where I worked just before I retired to care for my DH) to talk with the current Director about developing and teaching an online course for them. After that, maybe a little shopping.
Just dropping in for a bit, I have to work today. Tests, meeting, and then to the floor. Just wanted to say, I'm so sorry Rosie, for your loss. we love them and give them the best home we can. Tha's all we can do.
