Morning all....Wind has died down and having a blue bird day. Kinda funny the entire East coast has had such an awful winter and when visitors come down to Fl they complain how chilly we are. Sure the temps have been cool, but you all above us keep sending those darn cold fronts down here.

Wow so many pretty cats. Good thing don't have smellacomputer. Dash would be inhaling the screen. He loves cats and wants to own one. He is a German Wirehaired Pointer and has such a soft mouth he carries a balloon around. So a kitty would get damp but not hurt. a yucky damp!

Mary...You can do this. As Lynn says do one small step at a time. Best step I take and hardest is cut white foods....Lordy that is the worse stuff. And best flavors.

Bobbie...OMG a massage! ohhhhhhh enjoy!

Lynn...And Febuary hasn't started. Growing up Feb was when we had the worse snow. Heck in the 80's I worked 32hrs straight on President's day. What a joke....paid me double time first 8, double time and half second 8 and double time for third 8. I was relieve at 12N on 2nd day so they paid us 4 hrs straight time and took 4 hrs of vacation time off because we didn't complete our tour of duty. That was at a VA in NJ.

NancyNC....DD says the baby goats take about 3 seconds to enhale a bottle. They think by this weekend they will be about 8-9 hrs between bottles. With no nanny they have not been taught to nibble on grain. I suggested bring another mellow nanny into the pen for a few hours to teach them. It worked and the babies are nibbling. The formula has had some side effects and so they added pepto to it and both kids now have pink lips and think formula always tastes minty.

Zoe... How is a day working at home going?

Rosie...where are you? Hope you are up to your eyebrows in craft projects!

Off to do the laundry. How can 2 people make so much laundry and garbage? karen3
ps local strawberries are in! Spring is coming!

glynne 01-27-2011 10:57 AM

Lynn ~ thank you for the recipe. Do you use regular cooking oil, or olive oil?

Is nice and sunny here today :carrot: Kinda chilly, but as long as it's sunny that is ok.

Doing laundry and stuff to get ready for work on the weekend.

More later. Hope you all are having a good day.

Take care

Good Morning :) Woke up early so have done a whack of stuff before driving the 85 km to the passport office to get the thing renewed. Half of my family is south of the 49th parallel and you can't cross the border without a passport or enhanced drivers licence - and I'm not going to pay an extra $75 to get one of those and then pay again in Nov when my licence expires. Love the Pictures of the pets - we have alot. So I'll start with trying to attach a pic of our CAG - Congo African Grey - he's 19 years old.

Have a good day everyone! :)

Good Morning! I just finished my 75 minutes with the Wii. I ended up doing 5.16 miles this morning broke into 10 minute intervals. I think maybe as I start to lose weight and feel better I might see if I can do a full 20 minute Free Run (jogging in place)

Lynn, No I didn't photoshop the photos of Ginger & Sissy with the pacifiers. I don't have any idea how to do that and don't think I even have a program like that on my computer. Ginger one day picked it up when the grandkids were here, and she didn't want to give it back. So I had to see what Sissy would do with it and she liked it too. So had to get pictures.

We are supposed to have some nice weather this week. Even up in the high 50's. But I know we aren't done with winter yet. But usually by the end of February we are starting to get warmed up. Watch this year we will get dumped on or worse yet have a terrible ice storm! We haven't been through one of those nasty ice storms since we have been here and I would just as soon not have to.

Well, I think I really need to get going and get some stuff done around here. Housework just doesn't care if you take the time in the morning to exercise--it still waits for you!

Hi Gayle,

The only 2 oils in my house are olive oil or canola oil. I would use canola oil for this recipe.

Good Morning, All...
OMG, so many posts! It's obvious that you're all snowed in!! I hesitate to mention weather, so I won't... (don't hate me because I'm warm....)

PT/Zoe, glad you're going to be able to work at home more. Good thoughts for your nephew, too.

No, the docs didn't offer Aunty Ann any words of wisdom, so I told her to try to pee often, even if she doesn't think she has to, just to keep the bladder from getting so full... and also, DO NOT SNEEZE! Everyone, thanks for your concern. She's just a pip, and I love her. I hate to see the old ladies getting so feeble.

KarenMO, I could not BELIEVE the picture of the girlies and their Binkies... I think you and they might be poster girls for... something. No, they aren't spoiled. No, not at all...

NCNancy, your kitties are so pretty! Thanks for the baby kitty pictures, too... oh, there's just nothing sweeter!

Glynne, the second cake looked even better than the first cake. Does she use fondant for the icing or does she somehow smooth the buttercream icing? What flavors? Yum, yum, yum... I would forsake Skittles for that cake!

Mary, your trip has lost all appeal for me... zero.... zip... nada. The horrors of no hookups were just too much for me to contemplate... and when do you get to go HOME? I know you enjoy the RV treks, and I'm glad you do!

Everyone, I hope you thaw soon... and I hope we get some snow soon! What a crazy winter this has been!

Everyone... stay warm, dry, and safe! Hi to Freda, Rosey, Bobbi, Lynn, everyone, everyone.....

Donna ~ re: the cakes ~ the lady said it was butter cream frosting on the cake and she somehow smoothes it with waxed paper. The decorations (bows, flowers etc.) are fondant. She does an awesome job. She is little and likes to make them but does not want to eat them, so she brings them to work. I'm glad I haven't been there (except the one time) when she brings them. I would be doing a battle with myself.

It was interesting ~ at that staff meeting when she brought that cake, the boss ~ who is a thin little woman, had a piece of that cake. She ate about half, then wrapped the rest in the napkin. At first I thought she was gonna save it for later, but she threw it away. I guess that is how the thin people stay thin. They have self control that I seem to lack.

Rosey ~ your recipe sounds yummy too ~ would you post it in the recipe section?

Lynn ~ thank you for the recipe help.

Karen MO ~ enjoyed the pictures of your girls.

Tea Granny ~ what a pretty bird.

Karen FL ~ made me smile when you said that your Dash would like to own a cat :D

Bobbi ~ how are the headaches?

Zoe ~ glad you could get to stay home today.

More later ~ take care

Hi G.G.s,
Look, I finally made it here during daytime hours! Not much going on around here today.

Thanks for the compliments on my kitties. KarenMO, my SO definitely wasn’t as involved with the kittens as I was! He would hold one while I was feeding the other one, if he was up, but that was about it.

Gayle, it’s ok, I enjoyed the pics of the cakes & resisted temptation. Actually, I like proving to myself that I can!

Mary, that eating out sure makes it tough to stay on plan. Good luck!

Lynn, thanks for telling me how to pronounce your cat’s name, guess it’s obvious I don’t watch Harry Potter movies. I have another cat, but his name is Sax. He’s not really my cat, & I didn’t name him. He really belongs to SO’s DD. She got him when she was living off campus, but then she moved back to a dorm & couldn’t keep him. So, now he lives here. And, since I don’t use sugar for my oatmeal anymore, I guess I need a cat named Aspartame. Hey, I sorta like that name, I wonder if Sax would mind if I call him that?! (SO says he’s going to call him Butter because that’s what HE likes on his oatmeal. Guess I better just call him Sax or he’s going to get awful confused!)

Zoe, you’ve just got to cheer up! Wish I could think of something that would help! Maybe you do need that sunlamp.

KarenFL, glad to hear you didn’t blow away! Sounds like those baby goats are going to be weaned in no time. And now I keep picturing little goats with pink lips & minty breath.

Tea Granny, I love your bird, does he talk? What are your other pets, & how many do you have?

Guess I’d better get off here. I’m sure there’s something I need to be doing. Catch ya later. Almost forgot - Milky's still doing good. He seems better every day.
NCNancy

Wow! While I was typing, looks like bunches of you were posting! Hi! KarenMO & Lynn & Donna & Rosey & Gayle! (I was typing a really long time!)

Rosey, that’s such a sweet picture!

Gayle, I can’t believe it! Someone actually THREW AWAY cake?!!! I could NEVER do that. I’d freeze it & save it for some other time. Guess that shows I’ll never be a thin person.

OK, I really am going to leave now. Bye til later.
NCNancy

:) Afternoon everyone - A lazy day today. Fed dogs. I have an extra as I "dog sit". Then went out for breakfast with a girlfriend. And stuck to my diet. Hit the thrift store & bought a had to have necklace for my Crown Jewels (like Red Hats) regalia; paid a whole quarter for it! Otherwise nothing new here. The day is gray - snow is gray, sky is gray, I feel gray lol lol . We need spring!

OMG...found this recipe on another site and it is easy and so good.

Zucchine hashbrown

2 cups of shredded zucchine
1/4tsp salt
1 egg(substitute)
3 Tbs parmesan cheese
little olive oil

Shredded zucchine(not fingers) sprinkle on salt and let sit 15 minutes to draw off water. Drain well. add in egg and cheese. Use oil or cooking spray in frying pan and brown.

glynne 01-27-2011 05:50 PM

Karen FL ~ that sounds yummy :) ~ thanks for sharing

lynard21 01-27-2011 07:58 PM

I just read over the 3 pages of posts and, of course, forget a lot of what everyone said.

Lafalot I remember you lost 2 pounds! Great.

I love all the pet photos...Karen the dogs with the pacifiers are a riot!

Z - anxious to hear if you stayed home or ventured in to the office for your 1 pm meeting. All of my clients canceled today and schools were all closed - even though here on the Cape we only got 6 inches.

Lynn - yes looks like you've had plenty of snow - love the 2 kitties in the basket. My 2 cats won't even be on the same bed together.

Rosie - hang in there - you will lose in time. Enjoy your time to yourself.

Glad the wind has died down in FL, Karen.

That RV camping sounds like a challenge. Hope you don't run out of water space before Tuesday.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. No plans, just hangin' out inside. Did my 3 days at the gym this week, but alas, no more pounds down yet.
