Tuesday: 1390 calories. 25 min elliptical, weight machines

Have been doing better on calories the last few days, although I was SO hungry yesterday I left myself no cushion for the evening. I stopped eating at about 5, and then had to stay away from the kitchen. Maybe because TOM is due in a week or so? Hope I don't feel like this all week!

Zumba, thought of you when I decided to do the weight machines last night. It was harder than I thought, and I definitely was not lifting as much as I used to when I did them regularly. My mp3 player was an enormous help as it kept me from feeling too self-conscious and from getting bored. Will be incorporating them more regularly.

Of course there's no way you gained 4 lbs. - eat clean and drink water and it will be gone. I think the humidity makes you hold water too(at least I'm hoping!). I'm still slightly above Friday's weigh-in so I probably won't have a loss this week.

Hi Nat!!! I lost some of the 4 lbs....didn't eat a whole lot today so I'm hoping to be back to my low weight from friday tomorrow...I did eat a lot over the weekend but I was thinking one or two lbs gain the most..NOT FOUR!!! Winds up today I had TOM so maybe I was bloated to boot....anyway back to clean eating!!!! Oh and YES humidity makes you gain, atleast thats what they used to tell us in Weight Watchers.
Good for you for lifting weights today!!! I had killer cramps today so i opted out...but will get to it asap especially I'm down to the wire for Zumba convention also and want to have some muscles and good stamina for when I'm there...........
Okay so where is everybody????????

Wednesday: 1510 calories, supplements, 3 mile jog

My weight was down slightly this morning(TMI, but probably due to finally going to the bathroom) - hoping to hold on so I can have a tiny loss this week.

Is the Zumba convention in Orlando? I was vacationing there once when it was going on - funny seeing everyone running around in their gear.

Have you still not turned on the a/c? I'm like you - I wait as long as possible to turn it on(same with the heat in the fall). Today is absolutely perfect outside!

Yeah, where is everyone? Only 19 more days! I'll probably count my 6/17 weight as the official one for this challenge since I'm now eating out Saturday and Sunday that weekend.

Hi Ladies.

Well I got either a really BAD stomach virus or food poisoning. I believe it was food poisoning. Sicker than a dog....the flip side is that I lost weight...although it is not fat loss but due to hydration. I'm sure I"ll put some back on quickly now that i feel better, but I'm going to enjoy seeing that low number on my ticker for now...LOL....

Natamars I don't know what to say to you but give you kudos. You are doing so well....129 is so close you can probably smell and taste it...look how much weight you've lost!!!

Izza you will get the rest of that five off....especially if you are training for a 5K!!!

Gorgeous weather out. I didn't teach my classes this morning, still feeling kind of weak and sickly. Doing housework today and then sitting in the yard and enjoying nature in all its splendor.

Oh yeah Nat, the convention is in Orlando and it is just absolutely out of control...Zumba kool aid to the max!! It is a lot of work for me, not a vacation..I try and learn all that I can to bring back to my students.

A

Took a bit of a diet break last night. I'd eaten about 1000 calories going into dinner, and decided I was going to have some real pizza. I estimate between 2 slices of pizza, some wine, frozen yogurt, and juice, I ate about 1200 for dinner. Felt horribly bloated for hours, although everything tasted great at the time! Have been eating very light today and drinking a lot of water. Running a 5K tonight.

Zumba, so sorry you're sick! Did anyone else in your family get it? I SO understand the scale thing though - I always drag myself on the scale when I have a stomach thing just for the pleasure of seeing the low number.

Izza, you should definitely try the C25K. Pretty sure there's always a current thread under exercise with people who are doing it. I didn't really follow it, but did increase my distance slowly over time and am doing my third 5K tonight, working toward a 10K in September. I learn something with each one, and the're a lot of fun!

Saturday: 1425 calories. Ran a 5K.

The 5K was fun yesterday. My son ran the kids' fun run 1K - his smile as he crossed the finish line was awesome. I finished in 35 minutes again, but I was really proud because I jogged the whole time. There were some steep hills that most people around me walked up, but I didn't stop. I finished 231out of 395 people - of course some of those walked it. I'm so inspired by the older runners!

TOM is here again, so I'm avoiding the scale for a few days. Hope everyone's doing great!

Hello all!!

Well I gained back some of the hydration I lost from tossing cookies all night the other night and I'm at a nice solid 135 which was my goal for this challenge...I'd like to see the scale lower than that......looking for 130 to be my ultimate goal..and that would be 130 with muscle.

Feeling a lot better so I'm hoping I'll be back to my normal routine soon, and am including some bike riding now that it is warmer out and hopefully FINALLY some resistance training although I never seem to get off the ball with that...maybe i need to bite the bullet and pay for a trainer.....

Natamars, thats awesome about your son's 1k..how awesome!! I know so many runners, I just don't get it...the only thing I run for is a sale at Macy's or someone is coming after me with a knife. LOL..just not my thing but how I wish it was . I had a boss that ran 7 miles every morning before work, she was 50 and had an awesome body.....and a great sound mind from the stress release of running.

Well son has soccer today and wants to go to a friends house beforehand so I had better get steppin'.

Sunday: 1125 calories, 45 min elliptical

Really proud of myself - I was at a beach party for my son's friend yesterday for 3 hours and only ate a handful of blueberries and a Fiber One bar I'd packed. Totally avoided all the pizza and chips. Of course I'm still up 2 lbs. since Friday - will assume it's TOM, which brought with it major cramps this morning.

Zumba, CONGRATS on reaching your goal so early! That is awesome!! I understand the toning thing - I wouldn't care if I wieghed 10 lbs. more if my body fat were lower and I was firmer. You could probably find access to a great trainer with all your contacts in different gyms. The last guy I had didn't push me enough, unfortunately.

I've dine a bit of the running on and off for a while...mostly off. I really like doing these charity runs. It's a good time, you get to try different courses and different challenges. I'm going to get in a run tonight before it gets ridiculously hot and humid later in the week.. I'll never be one of those people who runs outside no matter what the weather, although I admire them greatly. But this time of year with all the flowers blooming it's really pleasant and it does calm the mind.

I did not die .... I Did it.... my first C25K interval podcast!!!!

Worked great except the big hill on the route.... I'm sure I looked pathetic running up that monster!!!! LOL

The other thing is my route is 4K which I walk in 50 min the pod cast is for 29 min so I just carried on into the next pod cast for an extra 10 min.

My legs weighed 200lbs each on that last 90secs.

I can't tell you how proud I am, in January I had a tough time walking up the driveway, and today, I Walk / Ran 4K !!!! Wow!!!

Monday: 1690 calories, no exercise, took supplements

TOM kicked me in the a$$ hard yesterday and I got home, put on pajamas, and settled onto the couch. It was one of those nights where I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat so just started grazing. Luckily I moved upstairs before it got too bad. The next few days are supposed to be hot and humid with bad air quality, so I'm debating what I will do for exercise - think I'll need to stick to the gym, but DH will be out two nights this week so I'll have to do something at home then.

izza, congrats! You should be so proud of yourself, esp. since you did a hill! It took me months before I would go near one. You rock!!

Nat, thanks ...I never thought I'd hit goal so early if at all....I surprised myself....I am so afraid now of putting the 7 lbs back on....and I want to keep losing too...FINALLY someone noticed at the gym today that I lost weight....noone else has, not even my husband. Oh well, I k now that I lost it and my clothes are fitting...I put on jeans the other night that I haven't been able to wear all winter....and I'm fitting into some zumba pants that were too snug for a long time too....Hallelujah it is happening. Low carb and just eating less...very little snacking....

IZZA CONGRATS ON YOUR 4K...WOW!!!!!! That's all i can say..I have such respect for runners.....I bow before you.

Natamars I hope you got to rest during TOM..that's a time when as women we should baby ourselves..I don't have the option when I have to teach class...I think in the old days there was something to be said for resting during our TOMs...now women are expected to move mountains no matter what or how we are feeling...it's all crap! We're also expected to go through our pregnancies like the hollywood stars...running every day and lifting weights so we can push out the baby and look like Halle Berre the next day...MORE CRAP. But don't get me started...LOL
