Zumba, not rude to bring your own snacks at all! I bet some others might appreciate some healthier options as well.

Zumbachica 02-02-2011 03:50 PM

I will tell the hostess that I am bringing a veggie platter....I'm sure she won't mind. If she says that I don't need to because she is having plenty of other things I'll come right out and tell her that I am trying to lose weight. I'm sure she'll understand.

natamars 02-02-2011 08:53 PM

Wednesday calories: 1260. 10 min. elliptical, 1 hr. body sculpting.

Time to read stories with my son. See everyone tomorrow.

I'm still alive!

Feeling guilty that I have been taking too many days off from working out so after taking the weekend off, I've been back at it every day - L3 of 30DS on Monday then VB, same yesterday but no vb - 30 min of bike instead. Today, 45 minute walk in the snow storm - more like snow shoeing without the snowshoes, then half hour of shoveling after getting home, then 30DS again. I have 6 more days then I will be done the shred...last workout is the day after my bday so it will be a good way to celebrate.

Madam - L3 is awesome...love the plyometrics and it seems easier than L2 but I think I need to up my weights for some of the moves. When I begin rotating through the different levels of 30DS, it will be L2 that will give my upper body the challenge!

I think my eating has been a little liberal lately as my wii is saying I gained a pound but I also feel that tom is approaching and that I could be retaining...or is that red wine I've dived into the past week...couldn't help myself with all the cold and snow ;p

Now that it's February, we're in the home stretch with less than 2 weeks so lets give it our all girls!

Good Morning Chicks!
Natamars-Let me know how the 5K goes. It is next on my list.
Madam-I too was inspired by Evil's take on exercise. I was focused on my diminished strength and lost youth by dwelling on what I did in the past. Now I'm just focusing on doing my best everyday and how strong I feel now.
Dcapulet-stay safe inside.
Otown-glad you are still with us. You are still doing great.
Zumba-Hang in there girl you are bouncing back with a vengence! And bust up in that get-together with your own little party tray.

To all you ladies living up north I am sending some beautiful Florida warmth and sunshine your way (albiet virtual). :sunny: Stay warm and stay safe spring is just around the corner!
Have a great day Chickadees!

river 02-03-2011 09:55 AM

Hi Chicks!
That 6.5k turned into a 7k 2 days ago.
Yesterday, 3k run, 20 min walk, 90 min shoeshow.
Today, 3k run, 10 min walk, 10 min yoga.

I've decided to run the half marathon I was considering on May 22nd. I'm plateauing now with my weight loss, but I'm pretty happy with how fit I am and I look ok so I'm not too concerned about that right now. Still following weight watchers plan and like it but using the optional points I need for training has slowed my weight loss.

Bamagurl 02-03-2011 10:03 AM

Wow River you too are an inspiration!

MadamButterfly 02-03-2011 11:29 AM

warmer weather ???

Wow ladies, everyone is doing so GREAT!!

Weather is calling for 20's today and 30's tomorrow and Saturday!! :woohoo: it's a heat wave!!

Bama: thanks for the :sunny: I know a LOT of us need that :sunny: right now!!

River: I agree with Bama, you are an inspiration, WOW . . .

otown: glad you are back on track . . . I tried Level 3 today, can you say PLYOMETRICS, OMG I had to modify some of the plyo stuff (bad knee) but I still worked soooo hard and I agree with you Level 2 definitely is more intense on the arms (daggone V-raises) lololol

nata: 1 hour of body sculpting . . . is it a class or a DVD????

Zumba: you bet you can bring your own snack . . . why should you go Off plan just because you have a social life, veggies and hummus would be great!! but bring what is good for YOU!!!

I did JM 30 day shred (level 2 w/ 5 lb weights) and then I did JM 30-day shred (level3 w/5 lb weights), 200 crunches and 90 push-ups (I'm gonna catch you Evil) lolololol

Evil: yes it is addicting, I think that is why I had never been overweight before, I was always active . . . and now I'm addicted again, SOOO happy about that and I can't wait til I can ride my bike outside in the warm sun . . . <sigh> summer will come

Zumbachica 02-03-2011 02:27 PM

Madam..I hear ya on wanting to ride a bike in the warm sun...I will NEVER take sunshine for granted again....especially after a winter like this and a sheet of solid ice for a driveway....enough is enough!!

Down another lb. Finally got that bloat off that I gained last weekend and now it's time to lose some real FAT...teaching two classes tonight....A half hour Zumba in the Circuit at Curves and then real butt kicking class.....Trying to get my groove back....slowly but surely....

Went to Target and bought some low carb foods, I'm going to be ready for the next storm!! (more snow Saturday).

dcapulet 02-03-2011 02:53 PM

Zumba - I’m with you! I can’t wait for the warm sunshine – I will never complain about being hot again! (until it’s like 100 an humid here). I wish the schools would close on days like that, because they close afterschool programs anyway, so I can’t go to school either way. Congrats on the loss! And please – NO MORE SNOW!!!!!!!!

Bama – Thanks :) I was able to stay in through most of the mess, but there was 3 inches of ice on my car :/

River and Evil – just amazing! You give me something to shoot for!

Otown - nice to see you!

Madam – I think about you when I open my fridge and see butter – it makes me smile

I’m having a pretty good day – trying to get some work done, but the piece I’m editing needs A LOT more work than I anticipated. So it might be a looooong night.

evilwomaniamshe 02-03-2011 05:26 PM

Great job everyone, way to getter done!

only time for a drive by post, day 34 DONE! 1 hr weightlifting, 100 pushups.
gotta go beyond busy. :)

otowngrl 02-03-2011 07:24 PM

Took it light today - just did 30DS...only 5 days to go before that goal is met!
Think I'm catching a cold. Tomorrow I will be outside all day playing in the snow so I'm sure to burn a million calories only to have to come home and do another day of the 30DS.

Cooking up a stew for the BF who will be home any minute so Bon appetit everyone!

Zumbachica 02-04-2011 07:11 AM

Hey chicks!! I'm back in the saddle....(I think). My mini challenge for this weekend: More Water and vegetables....

My class last night was the bomb...nothing like kicking the butt of a bunch of twenty somethings....paying the price this morning though and so glad that I don't have to go to work today....will try and get some resistance training in today at home....

ELEVEN DAYS TO GO>>>> LET"S BOOGIE!

natamars 02-04-2011 08:03 AM

Thursday: 1305 calories. 1 hr. Zumba! class

Down 4.4 lbs. for the challenge, with 1.8 to go to reach my goal.

Going to dinner with the ladies from the gym tonight. Will enjoy a cocktail and a small dinner - the portions at this place are enormous so I'll bring most of it home for DH and DS.

My gym just added spin every other Sunday, so I may take advantage of that as well. Also getting my run on the treadmill in twice a week - may be time to increase that to 3 soon.

zumba, you sound great!

otown, take care of yourself!

evil, do you do the 100 push-ups continuoulsy, or break them out? Impressive either way. We've been doing more planks in class and that's something I really need to work on - I can hold them OK, but my form needs work!

MadamB, the body sculpting is a class. I don't do as well with DVD's - I get too distracted at home!

Happy Friday!

evilwomaniamshe 02-04-2011 02:54 PM

Day 35- DONE! Today did 1.5 hrs snowshoeing, 100 pushups :)

Way to boogie, zumba

Nat- sets are 25 in a row of the manly ones, repeat.

The wknd is upon us, keep on truckin ladies... Finally stretch is upon us

I am so ready for spring & oh yeah I love me some mountain bike riding too Madame!
