Hello everyone, I just signed up today and I wish I would have found this place sooner. I have been reading over the posts on here and you all seem so nice. So far I have lost over 200 pounds on various diets and it has been a real struggle. I will be starting on Medifast soon. Is anyone else here using the Medifast plan to lose weight?

All you new ones. I'm just on long enough to say Hi, and I hope to be back tomorrow. Time got away from me today. I had to change my ticker. I had a good weigh in today. Down 3 pounds.
Hope all are well. Congrats to everyone doing well and hang in there everyone else! Til Later.

WELCOME TARA!

I have only been here a little over a week myself and have found it to be quite helpful, supportive and essential!

You should feel soooo proud of yourself for such an amazing accomplishment you have already made!

I am doing portion control and trying to exercise as much as possible. I've been on enough diets to know what to do, I just have to apply it! I think there are people here doing the Medifast or the Optifast program, but don't hold me to that!

WELCOME & GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!

Hi to all, I'm jealous everyone is so busy working and generally just having things to do. I've been so bored and can't wait to get out to the working world I would function so much better. I would love to have an excercise machine at home...good luck to all who are just getting theirs and enjoy it.

Nancy- I have bi-focals also, progressive ones...2 yrs now, I hate having them and yes they were expensive I doubt you'll find them much cheaper than what you said but if you do then good. One thing though, small frames like what we both wear are harder because you then have a smaller area in which to put the bi-focals and that makes them more difficult to adjust to, for instance I can't really look to the side because I have to turn my whole head to have clear vision. I don't know if it's that way for everyone with bi-focals, maybe it's just the progresive ones but if you are a little vain like me you won't want them noticable so really ask about regular and progressive pros and cons. Good Luck!

Carolyn- Hope you feel better soon. I agree it's much easier to adhere to a diet when you don't feel good.

Patti- I feel your frustration and I am really afraid of weighing in on Mon. now...lol

Peggy- I know the "funk" feeling had it myself...hope it gets better soon.

Catherine- Swimming is fun, except being in a swim suit..lol. Koodos for you on finding alternate excercise to save your feet. I don't know what would be worse sore feet or my sore back.

Jill- this may sound weird but I would love to be moving someplace new. It is so much fun I think to decorate and put things away...I'm sorta a neat freak when it comes to moving, everything has to be cleaned before moving it to a different place and I find it a good time to purge all the stuff I've felt I needed to keep but really didn't need.

Well I know I missed people and I hope all is well....there are so many posts lately it's hard to keep up....lol

Luan: Welcome back sweetie. You have been missed. Your new friend is a cutie pie. Post more often girl.

LeeAnn: So sorry that the scale was up +5 but, on the bright side, you now have a starting point on your journey that is correct! So, come on and pick up and go for it.

Torister: Sorry that your dental yesterday was bad. Congrats to you though on not going to Fast food and drowning your sorrows in a big mac or fries! Great job.

Lisa: to you hon on all the liquid drinking you are doing. Sharon too. How much water a day are you drinking? Just curious. lol.

Sherly: So glad to have you here. I'm sure you will get tons of support and good old fashioned encouragement. Maybe even a if you ever need them. LOL. Welcome.

michelle: I hope you are having so much fun going through your stuff. I know when we got our stuff after a month without any of it it felt like all over again. Enjoy yourself and don't get overwhelmed. It will all come together soon enough.

Brenda: on another -6! Good job hon. Perfect example of why we shouldn't weigh more than once a week max! Hear that Patti

Karen: LOL. I was cracking up at your story of Denise Austin and her while working out. Hey. At least you exercised. Good job.

Misti: Back! Long time no posting. How is your friend's little Girl by the way? I have been praying for her. Hope she is doing great. Glad to see you. How are you?

Donna: Congrats on the -4.4 more! Excellent job! Can't wait to get to know you.

Lilion: all of the things you are doing lately is enough to make anyone go crazy. Hang in there and take a deeeeeeeep breath.

Jilly: Have fun cleaning. Hope the rest of your weekend is relaxing

Patti: Sorry the scale was a brat today.

Catherine: LOL me with a 6 pack. I am too many kegs away from even dreaming of a 6 pack. lol. One keg at a time. Glad you are exercising off your feet.

DJCJ: Feel better.

Nancy: Oh doll. Bifocals schmifocals. They are just glasses. It doesn't mean a thing. You will still be a cutie pie.

Emily: Good luck on the essay. I am so excited for you going to work in the ER. I bet you will be a fantastic nurse.

Tarra: So glad that you are here with us. WOW! on loosing 200 pounds. There are two ladies here that recently started a liquid diet. One of them has been on it a week I believe her name is Sharon or Screen name is Voodoo. The other is Lisa. I don't know her screen name but she started yesterday. Good luck with that. When do you start? I have been thinking about it. What part of the world are you in? I am in Northern Idaho myself. Well, glad to have you along for the trip. Welcome again.

As for me. My day has been icky. I started off arguing with my DH over the phone. I hate that. We will be fine. It was my fault mostly and I called to appologize and I know we will talk like adults when he gets home. It is about my sister. It seems that is the only thing we ever argue about. So, I am just now getting to my exercises. I did my situps and weights. I still have to ride the bike. I am up to 40 minutes on the bike now wich is 10 miles at a time. I am so excited. Coming from doing only 3 minutes on the bike last December to this is something I feel proud of. Hope you are all doing well and having op days. Everyone have a great weekend. I will be back on sometime tomorrow after my dredded weigh in at WW. UGH. Scary stuff. No matter what the scale says, I have been a good op girl and I have exercised daily I have lost some inches so the scale is a LIAR. lol.

Blessings all,
Annie

Nancy...Sorry to hear your upset about your bifocal news. Can you still read the paper? Try it with and without your glasses. Sometimes just flipping up the glasses and looking at the print with your natural eyes works. I know they (bifocals) are probably right around the corner for me, too. My husband and I both do the "flip" method right now!

Why does it bother you, you say? Because change sucks! Especially when it is unsuspected! It's so much nicer when things just go along smoothly, right?

SANDY...Great Going on 3lbs down!!!

I had a pretty rough start to the day today. A friend called me from my husbands job and asked me if I knew he had been taken to the hospital....WHAT??? I said. The idiots he works with never called to tell me he feel off of a ladder and smacked his head and back and couldn't remember what day it was!! They didn't even know which hospital he went to??!!! You would think when a person is with a company for over 30 years, they would show a little more concern? Thank GOD, his injuries are not super serious. He was released this afternoon and very happy to be back home. I had 2 hot dogs with buns and baked beans for lunch...there's that stress eating again! I feel better now that I know he will be o.k. in a little while.

I think I am back on track, again. Just a little hiccup.

Have a super weekend everyone!!

Tarra -- I wanted to be sure to welcome you!!!! This must be the time for liquid diets around here. As Annie said, we've had 2 others start this week!! I'm sure Sharon and Lisa will be by shortly to share their experiences. In fact, you all might want to start a thread on that!!!

This is a great great place for support ideas and everything! Really! This thread moves pretty quickly, but don't worry about keeping up with everything or replying to everyone!

How have you lost your weight so far???

Hi Annie, thank you for the welcome. I will be starting Medifast the beginning of April, so I won't be eating no easter candy this year. My mom wanted me to wait until after Easter to start, but I don't want to gain anymore weight and that will just put me further away from goal and I will have even more to lose when I start the Medifast.

I live in Northern California. That is cool you live in Idaho. I used to live in Heyburn, Idaho between Burley and Rupert when I was a teenager and I have family living in Preston, Idaho.

Hi Girls!

I spent my afternoon cleaning and doing chores. Than had a nice bowl of turkey chilli and went and got the groceries. All kinds of healthy stuff since I am now over the cleanse part of my diet and on to the fat burning part. I get to have pita pizza tomorrow and I am super freakin excited It has been pretty much nothing but salad an chicken or fish for a month... time for real food

This program that I am on is one that I can see myself staying with for life. There are 3 phases and I will be on this new one till I get to my goal. Than they teach you how to maintain. I never thought that I would like a program like this. Let me tell you it is a pleasant surprise....

Tarra~ Welcome

Catherine~ She's a beagle... Mommy's lil bubble butt Her name is Bailey...

Annie~ Good Luck hun with your weigh in.... My nutritionist made me give my scales to Steven today. I am a constant weigh-er. 2-3 times a day sometimes. When she found that out she made me promise that he would hide it and not give it back for at least a month I think if it was up to her, I'd lose it for good....

Nancy~ Sorry to hear you had a rough day

Luan~ Welcome back. He's a lil hottie I copied one of your pics for my hubby to see. I have always wanted to go to Disney. And some day I will!! Pick yourself up, brush off the crumbs and move ahead. Think of all the reasons WHY it is important

Sandy~ Congrats on losing 3 lbs!!

Breathless~ Sorry to hear of hubby's fall! Glad that he is OK! That must have been scarey!!

Patti~ Sorry you had another bad WI.... Try and stay motivated hun... are you keeping a food journal?

Sorry for those of you that I missed.... My lil sis is on her way in for the night with my niece and nephew....we are going to his hockey game tomorrow so they are coming in for a sleep over...

Talk to you tomorrow!

Karen: Oh honey. So glad your hubby is okay. I would freak too if something happend to my DH. Hugs to you.

Tarra: Small World. LOL. I used to live in Northern CA. In the Sacramento Area actually. Well, Folsom to be exact. lol. I haven't been to any of the places in Idaho that you used to live but, I do know where they are. I used to live in the Caldwell area down my Boise and on the news they would show weather happening there. SO, your mom is doing the diet with you? I sure hope it is something that works well for you. I just am thinking about trying it because I am supposed to be going to a surgeon on this next Tuesday to see what they say about it. I have been really reading up a lot on it and I know that you have to be on a liquid diet prior to surgery and after that you can barely eat too so I was thinking about trying the liquid diet for a week or two just to see how it is.

Wyllen: Hey girl. How are you? I haven't talked to you in along time. I bet you are so busy. Take care.

Brenda: Hi girl. I think your nutritionist is a smart cookie! Have fun with your family tonight.

Blessings,
Annie

Hi All! Today is my second day on the liquid diet and I must admit that it was NOT a good day. For starters, I woke up with a crushing headache. That is apparently a typical side effect of the diet during the first week because it is such a shock to your body. Anyway, it got so bad that I started nearing a panic attack (haven't had one of those in about 4 years.) Anyway, I took something for it and stayed home from work. Still don't feel very well, but the headache is getting better.

For some reason, I am really not hungry. I'm thankful for that and surprised . . . although I wouldn't mind having a hamburger right now. I have tried several more flavors and all of them are tough to handle. Maybe it was my emotional state today, but everything I had today tasted terrible, even the stuff that I liked yesterday. I can handle the hunger, but I don't know how I am going to stay on this if I can't find something that I can get down. My Dad and my Brother tell me to take it one hour at a time and just stay busy. I know they're right. I just have to think of this as nourishment and nothing else. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. I hope so!!!!!!!

Karen - No, I didn't get burned during the cocoa explosion but I made a big mess. Live and learn. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, I'm glad he is ok. That is scary. Keep us posted.

Annie - You asked about water. Brace yourself!!! I have to drink half my weight in water in ounces. I weigh 286 which equates to 143 oz of water. I am quite certain that I am not going to reach that goal. Anyway, yesterday, I drank about 90 oz, which is more than I have had in the last 3 months, so I guess that's progress. One positive about the fact that the flavors don't taste good is that is makes me drink a lot of water to get rid of the taste. Small blessing I guess.

Tarra - Wecome to the threads! I commend you on your starting Medifast and I am fully in support of your decision. Don't read my intro and get scared. Apparently, what I am experiencing is common in the first week. Just focus on your goal and you will be fine. I'll be happy to talk with you more about it as you start the plan!

Brenda - 6 lbs. Woo Hoo!!!!!

Nancy - I'm supposed to get bifocals too, but I haven't done it. It just seems like it would be majorly confusing to my brain. Good luck.

Well, over and out. Headache's coming back. Have a great day everyone!

Lisa
