Ok, I really need to know something...I just bought a new scale last night and weighed myself at @8:30pm. I know you shouldn't do that at night, but I wanted to see how much of a difference from my WI on Thursday, just so I could keep track for any at home WI's. It was 2lbs higher. I just got on now and it is 4 lbs lower!!!????? How can there be that big of a difference in 12 hours????????? All I did was sleep. I think I could really get into some mental trouble here! Should I keep the darn thing or take it back

As for my seemingly neverending furniture saga, after spending 20 mins waiting on hold, I am getting a new chair on Wednesday...but wait, there's more! We moved the loveseat and there is a rip on the back! So another 20 minutes on hold, then the girl tells me they will send me a new back panel and when I get it I need to call them to schedule someone to replace it. Hmmmm, I'm thinking another 20 mins on hold(sigh).

Sorry about so much venting...I know there are bigger problems in the world, but sometimes it's just needed!!

I hope everyone is feeling better today...it is finally warming up here, so I am looking foward to hanging my laundry outside instead of tripping over the racks inside! Sad isn't it!

Donna
PS-The mall was fun, especially when Sammi's pants were falling off during her dance...she is such a trooper since she has a mom that is a goofball and really tries not to make her laugh or loose concentration. She is so used to it by now and doesn't even flinch!

Morning girls
Thanks for noticing how close I am getting. I am hoping that Friday will be the day! That still only means that I am halfway there and it has taken me a long time to get here *L*

This program that I am using is really working for me. I am pretty excited about the results. 16lbs in 4 weeks

Anyhow, gotta run and get ready for my sis's baby shower... talk to you all later..

Donna~ We must have been posting at the same time. My scale does that all the time! It is common for you to be higher in the evening since you have drank ALL that water and eaten throughout the day. If you are anything like me you are getting up to pee at least once during the night and once in the am... PLUS you metabolism is working for those 12 hours burning calories and absorbing all that nutrition it needs to function

That is why most of us only weigh in the mornings

Donna- Hang in there, you should see the dance my scale does in a 24 hour period! I have taught myself that if it is not WI day and I weigh myself I just HAVE to not let it bother me. So, now after some practice I am pretty good at it. My weight can fluctuate up to eight pounds morning to night It can be a bit of a merry-go-round. So either practice not letting it get to you, hard, or just stay away from the darned thing, easier.
I will repeat my sweet husband's quote for you, sometimes it makes me feel better, " If you are going to believe the scale when it's bad, you have to believe it when it's good."

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Daylight Savings Time for all that it applies.
Well, I am not sick anymore, thank goodness! So I hopped on the treadmill yesterday and actually convinced myself to stay on for a whole hour!
Loving myself a little more for that one. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Karen: I get really confused about all the advice I get on how much exercising I should be doing or should stop doing. I just keep on doing what I feel is best for me. I enjoy how proud of myself I feel after I do my daily exercises. I enjoy how it helps my mental attitude too. It has been a very long time since I liked myself enough to do something for me like take the time to exercise. I have a hard time finding things about me that I like so exercise is helping. I think I will keep it up. Thanks for your encouragment. Hugs.

Luan: Yahooo! congrats on -3.8. Now you can start back off with a high note.

Catherine: I was once at a Church retreat for women and the speaker had all of us write on a piece of paper one thing that we have been struggling with in our lives and put it in a huge paper sack with everyone else's troubles. He shook it up and asked if there was anyone in the room who would like to reach in and grab a new trouble in exchange for the one we put in the sack. Nobody raised their hand. So, as much of a pain in the butt as my MIL is, I know her. I guess I will hold on to the MIL I have. Sorry, don't want to trade. lol. I hope your MIL pulls her head out and starts to see you for what a sweet hearted person you are and that you love her son and he loves you. I am committing to you right now to start praying for that. Hugs.

Brenda: I can't wait until I can fit in a tub. I'm so happy for you. Hugs.

Michelle: So sorry that you are feeling so badly still. I hope you feel better soon. Glad you are unpacked. What a nice feeling.

Donna: Hugs. Sorry that the scales are making you stress. I think you should be sure to take some measurements just in case. That has really helped me when the scale has stalled.

DJCJ: Glad you are feeling better. Take care.

Blessings everyone.

Hi All!

Today was a better day. No headaches so my outlook has changed. I am keeping busy and went out and bought some new shoes and a blender today. I'm really trying to keep myself occupied, but I hope that doesn't result in my become a "shop-o-holic." LOL Anyway, I have made it 3.5 days on liquids which is amazing to me. Never thought I could do it.

Donna - That type of weight fluctuation is pretty common. Your body still works overnight and you lose water in the a.m. (or throughout the night if you're like me). My suggestion, however, is that you remove the scale from your house and don't weigh more than once a week. I have sabotaged myself on every previous diet because I weigh everyday and then have water fluctuations. On the days where I am retaining water weight and don't lose weight, I am less inclined to stay on program. I have had a really tough few days since I started this liquid diet and if I had a scale in my house, I would likely not be on this plan anymore. Just a suggestion, but that's what works for me.

Hope everyone is doing well! Have a good day!

Lisa

Thank you all for the "scale tips"! Just when you think you are the only one with this weird problem, I am reassured by all the wonderful people here that I am not alone!

YOU ALL ROCK!! And I wish you all tremendous success on your journies!!

Lisa, Glad to hear that things may start to look up for you. I felt bad for you. But you have proved yourself to be one "tough chickie"!! BRAVO TO YOU!!

Annie, Yes, you keep doing what makes you feel good and don't listen to those biddies! Big hugs to you!

DJCJ, Your DH sound cool. Great going on the exercise! WOW!!

Brenda, we'll be watching for that landmark! YOU GO GIRL!!

Michelle, I can totally relate to your Bp meds side effects. My doc told me NO side effects and I would feel better immediately! WRONG!! I thought I was dying. I felt horrible within about 5 days of taking it. 10 days in, I stopped taking it and will control the BP with a healthy life style instead. Please go to this website askapatient.com and look up the drug you are taking. I think you will find the results quite interesting. It is a place where patients post their thoughts on different meds they are on. I don't remember what you said you were taking, but I was on Diovan HCG 80mg. The doc said it was "all natural" ah, yeah right! natural my butt! Just check out that website, you'll see. Take care!

Princesspuffypants (love that name!) CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!!

Hello everyone. Today has been pretty good for me. I got some much needed yard work done in the beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures.
I'm op for today, but had a real treat today...fried taters and gravy. BUT I counted it on fitday.com, and I know I made it with less fat than fitday.com said. So, I know I had much more fat today than normal, and am hoping it doesn't screw up my metobalism. I'm gonna get on the gazelle in a little while too.
I'm very sorry I haven't done personals lately. My granddaughter was in the hospital Friday night. She's 2 and it scared all of us. She's home now, and now has a nebulizer. (she was born with congestive heart failure) She's doing much, much better today than yesterday even. I've had issues with my sd again, so I'm pretty emotional again. I hope Monday I start over with personals.
Congrats to all who had scale success and nsv's too. Til tomorrow...

Karen - Thank you! I appreciate you being in my corner!

Sandy - I'm so sorry about your grandbaby! That is heartbreaking to have anyone in your family go through that, but especially a child. I'm glad she is doing better. My tummy was just fine until you mentioned fried taters and gravey! YUMMM!

Have a good day everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, i spent mine working but i will be off in a few days, and cant wait
LISA: Im very proud and happy for you that you are on program and feeling better. when i did a similar diet in the 90"s, after the first couple days i was ok. it seemed at first that all i did was focus on any kind of food, but after awhile it was ok. you doing great, and im sure you will see a nice loss this week
BRENDA: congratulations on doing so well with your wt loss.!
SANDY: the taters and gravy do sound good! i havent had those in a long time. sorry your grandaughter was ill, hope she is better very quickly.
ANNIE: i think any excersise you do, (if you arent having chest pains) is good. your doing awesome.
MECHELLE: Im sorry your feeling bad on the b/p meds. my sister has had the same problems when her doctor changed her meds. hope you feel better!
EVERYONE ELSE: hope your all doing well
as for me, i am doing good on the food and excersise front. i am trying to drink more water and today actually drank more than enough. my weigh day is wed. i totally agree with all the advise about the scale. i have always been one to avoid it like the plague, but lately i have found myself weighing more frequently. the daily flucuations are enough to make me insane, so i think i will stay away until the official weigh day.
well im off to bed, have a wonderful week

Cool

Hi Ladies, do you mind if I pop in here? I have been lurking around a lot lately; and couldn't help but notice how much we have in common. I had tried to post in here when I first arrived but had problems. Now, I have things down pat; I just started here in the middle of January, but it took me a while to get the hang of everything.

I see that I already know some of these ladies from the 40+ thread that also post here too, like Patti, Lilion, and Torister, and maybe a couple others. I am from Northern Canada; am married to DH for 17+ years, but we have no children (just didn't happen for us); instead, we have two small furry babies that we adore.

I like to cook, garden, write songs and poems, sing, read, and crochet. Learned to play the piano just for fun last year (something I always wanted to do); mind you, I'm not Liberace, or anything like that ~ LOL! I also like some sports (watching mostly); and going on the net to while away our long, cold winters.

LISA ... I just wanted to tell you that I admire your courage; giving that liquid program a whirl. As I was telling Dannette earlier this evening, I was put on my first diet when I was 15; and it's been a roller coaster ever since. But when I fell ill a couple of years ago; I decided it was time to take back control of my life, and get healthier. I didn't like how I felt back then at all; and don't ever want to go back there.

RE: THE SCALES ... I have always had an issue with the scales cuz I get upset if I don't lose something; so now I don't weigh myself too often. For now, my doc is doing that. I had been toying with the idea of buying one, but I get nervous about it; maybe if I get DH to hide it in his garage and only weigh myself once a month??? I see a lot of you weigh yourselves often. My doctor suggested never less than three weeks apart ... what do you think of that???

Well, I just wanted to drop in and say hello to you all; congrats on the weight-loss successes and welcome to all the other newbies too. Some of you have probably already seen me posting around here and there. I'd like to come back and post here too. A fellow encourager ... Rosebud.

First of all I would like to thank everyone for the welcome.

Annie: I am actually on the list for a gastric bypass, but when the Health Adviser who introduced me to Medifast told me she lost 152 in six months and then went on to lose more weight bringing her total to 172 pounds in little a years time, I pretty much decided I'm not getting the surgery. I was scared anyway and hoping to get out of it. I talked to my doctor and he made a deal with me. If I can get my weight below 400 and keep losing with the Medifast, he won't bring the surgery up again. So for now I am breathing a sigh of relief.

For anyone who is interested, I have posted a pic of how I looked before I lost over 200 pounds and how I look now in the picture section for this group.

I am off to bed now so my sister will shut up and leave me alone...lol
