Awesome! I was thinking about starting a thread like this! Anyway school starts on the 29th of this month if I'm not mistaken...

Aug 2: 128
Aug 9 goal: 127
Aug 16 goal: 126
Aug 23 goal: 125
Aug 29 goal: 124

Really hope I can get down to 124 on the 1st day of school. Wouldn't that be an awesome way to get back? On the last day of school everyone saw me 135 and when I get back I'd be a little over 10lbs lighter <3

jaimie1980 - that's really amazing progress! We are of a similar height and weight, what are you doing to lose the weight? Things have kind of stalled for me and I need to get back to losing.

Sunnydays - 4 lbs in 5 weeks sounds like a great goal. I love thinking about how some people I haven't seen all summer would see a bit of change!

I haven't checked in here in awhile. I just re-read my first post and I said that I wanted to be 130 by the time school starts (August 31). I'm currently hovering between 132-134 right now and I'm SO close to goal. I'm really crossing my fingers. From past experience, I tend to plateau here so I'm hoping I can just get down to 130 and under by September. Depending on my progress, I might even push it and change my goal to 128..

Good job, RachelAnne!

My WI's have been stalling/gaining this week. It's the week before TOM for me, which always equals bloating/weight gain + massive carby cravings. Ugh. Did just receive some info on orientation/move-in though, so I've got my eye on the prize. Need to step it up these next few weeks!

Great work RachelAnne

firefoxy - orientation info, that's exciting! And motivating. Love your sig by the way - don't know how you do 200 squats. I've been trying but my knees make a funny crumbly noise so I am avoiding it. Where are you going to school again? Law school must be scary!

Got a new scale at Winners yesterday, for $20 (sells for $60 on Amazon!) so I figured it'd be pretty good. Last night I got a bit too excited and was weighing myself all over the house. I got frustrated because it seemed to be giving me different readings in the same spot, but then I read the instructions (I'm new to digital scales haha) and it says that every time you move it you need to do one weigh in to reset it and then the next one after that will be accurate. I'm going to try it for another 5 days for consistency and if it's bad I'll return it.

I've been OP all week but I'm nervous for the weekend - I only work Mon-Thur so I think tonight I'll try and plan a few meals so I don't get off track.

Small NSV today...my pants are looser I took them right out of the dryer and put them on and waist was looser than I remember. Normally they are fitted when I put them on then after a few hours of wearing them they're quite loose. I'm happy! Except now I look stupid because my pants are baggy haha.

I'll be attending a top school on the East Coast Will definitely be different, as I'm moving from California! Really excited about having free gym access again though. When I visited, the gym looked fantastic, and there are free exercise classes available.

Also, the program isn't 200 squats--at least not at first. http://hundredpushups.com/ is the site for the 100 pushups program. You work your way up by doing different numbers every other day for 6 weeks. The 200 squats and 200 situps ones are similar. I like it so far! Doesn't take that much time, and you definitely feel it a day or two after each practice session!

Also, congrats on the NSV, ahyessophie! NSV > scale any day.

I'm definitely going to check that site out. I need things I can do without a gym!

Congrats on getting into a top school BTW - my roommate wants to go and I've been to some grad/law school fairs with her and it's intense. The law school at my current school is ridiculous... the expectations that have for applicants. It's apparently the hardest to get into in Canada but we don't have nearly as many schools as the states so perhaps it doesn't quite compare. Thankfully I'm only doing my undergrad cause I would die if I were doing law school here!

PS Totally agree on the NSV > scale. Someone's sig said "We don't use the scale because it's the most accurate, but because it's the most convenient." So true!

Good job on the NSV, ahyessophie! Baggy pants are just a sign you need to go back-to-school shopping. also- random question, but what brand are the low-cal chocolate puddings you eat? I was looking for some in Superstore the other day, and the lowest I could find was 90-calorie butterscotch, ick!

I've been considering setting a goal for myself for the beginning of the school year. So far I've just been happy with anything on the scale lower than the week before, but maybe it'll be good motivation to have a solid number to work toward.. or it might cause me to be too obsessive over numbers when overall health is more important.. hmm. thoughts, anyone?

Thanks pinksparkles I'm glad that I'll be out of office clothes really soon so I won't have to worry about replacing them if they become unwearable.

Butterscotch pudding looks horrible in the container doesn't it? Mine are Jello, I got them at Costco in a pack of 24 for $6 or so. They're part of a chocolate-lovers pack with a few different flavours. They MUST have them at Superstore. Mine are fat free (but not sugar free) and not the refrigerated kind. I think I've seen similar 100ish calorie "Snack Pack" ones...I think Hunt's is the brand? They also make sugar free Jello ones if you're into that. Hopefully you can find some cause they're delish and a life saver for packed lunches.

About your question for a weight goal - I'm torn. I'm kind of hating the scale because I feel like I can't control it. I don't like feeling like I failed because the scale didn't move, even though I was OP with my diet and followed my exercise plan. That being said, I still have 155 as a goal for Sept 6 ahaha. Numbers feel concrete and honest when really there are so many more things going on beyond the number on the scale. Just do whatever you think will make you the most successful and the least miserable.

I definitely use the scale because it's convenient, not accurate. Most people have one in their bathrooms or at least at their local gyms. Easy. Also takes marginally less time than measuring. However, I think I'll start measuring as well, because the scale is seriously sucking this week (for me, anyway).

Today, I weighed in at 185!! So, three possibilities.

1. I gained 3 pounds in a week.
2. Pre-TOM bloating/water weight.
3. The scale hates me.

I'm guessing it's a combo of 1 and 2, but I'm seriously leaning toward 3 right now...

Congrats Abigail207 on ten lbs lost! That's great!

firefoxy - blame everything on TOM and scales with minds of their own. I'm sure it'll go away as soon as TOM is gone.

Could have been more but was out of town all weekend. Ate decently because of the host/hostess were healthy eaters, but we went to Seattle for a beer tour so ended up drinking my calories on top of eating ;P I'm not upset because I had a blast and finally got a special thing to do this summer since rest of my summer was pretty boring and a little stressful. Onto next week!
