Grats on denting the homework, Ade, and pre-made meals, woot!
I slacked so bad this weekend (not counting exercise and being OP meal-wise), and it was soooo nice. It was nice to not be running around like a manic crazy woman for once. But I plan to be busy-crazy this weekend, so I better let the lingering bliss stretch into this week, haha! Kay,. I'm one that if I post my mini-goals down here and keep the blinders on, I'll get there. So now that the second part (sky diving) is listed, I'll do it when I get there, but I'll be insanely twitchy until I am past the point of no return. It's the same for any new experience really, (joining a gym, walking into my first WW meeting, trying to get into Tai Chi, job interviews, etc). Ugh, I can feel a bit of stress just thinkin' about it right now, but it's gonna be awesome! :dizzy: I'm going to get the photo/video deal with it, so I might just have something to show off, muah! I looked at a picture of their plane, Coh, and that was a bad idea... it's so TINY! :yikes: So now that I have something to work toward, there will be no more "I think that's X amount of points", I'm gonna weigh it no matter where in the house my foodscale is sitting. I plan to be in Onderland earlier than my Halloween goal date, but plans are plans, I better get it done! |
Ade- glad to hear you are back on track.
Zan- you will do it! Well I had a horrible weekend plan wise. I got taco bell yesterday. :( Saturday I got a coffee drink from McDonald's. :( I didn't do ANY exercising! I got dressed to run but my ipod was dead. I got distracted while it was charging and never did get out there. On the other hand I did get a ton of stuff done for my craft show. 2 more weeks and I am taking a crafting break! I was thinking yesterday that I want to look into a hand mixer and possibly start making some green smoothies for breakfast. I know my husband doesn't get enough good stuff in his diet either and I am sure he would be happy to have a yummy breakfast smoothie too. I wonder if a hand mixer would be good enough to make smoothies with. I just don't want to deal with taking apart and cleaning a blender every day. I know I need to up my fruit and veggie intake though. Hope you all had a great weekend! |
Hm. That's a tough one, Kay. I used to use a personal blender (one of those that has a drink cup. Like this one:
http://www.blenderexpert.com/image-f...nder-51101.jpg And there are a lot more of those out there since I got mine. But I suppose if you got a hand blender that will crush ice, it'd work fine with frozen fruit too. I wish you luck in your fruity-smoothie adventures. :D Oh, side note: I have no idea what they were blending in that picture. Cream of Barney? |
Zan- it's funny, I thought of the bullet blender when I first had this idea. Maybe I will end up going for something like that, less to clean up. And yeah, what is up with the Purple People Eater smoothie? Weird. lol
|
The magic bullet blender is amazing. You can do so much with it. And smoothies are yummy!!!!
I've been weighing myself at home this week. And my weigh-ins at meetings are always higher (I'm not naked and it's in the evening, so it makes sense). But I actually saw 171 on the scale yesterday. and 172.2 this morning. Before that, it was 173.6 at the lowest. So I'm kind of excited. I hit my 5% loss on August 26, but I was at a different meeting so I didn't celebrate. And since then I have gained a total of 2 lbs, so I'm hoping to hit it (again) either this week or next. Then I'll "celebrate" at my meeting. Zan - that is a great goal. It'll be something to motivate you, something to look forward to, and a great experience. Kay - you craft like crazy! lol. Glad it is something you love. Coh - I'm trying this week. We'll see. I feel bad because I joined the biggest loser challenge and I haven't lost yet!! I talked to my bf about the future. Went like I thought it would (for the most part). Still at a stand still, but feeling much better! Busy work week, so I better get back! Have a fabulous Monday! |

Glad you had a chat with your boyfriend Ade! Even better that you're feeling better about it :) It must have helped clear the air a bit.
Zan, you are crazy! That's a fantastic thing to use as a reward. I would love to go skydiving but I know I'd be too scared! What are you making for the craft fair, Kay? I bead when I have a chance. I love making jewelery for myself but have sold some things as well. I'd never manage to collect up enough stock to sell though I don't think. We went camping this weekend with my boyfriend's old housemates/friends and some of their girlfriends. It was pretty good but they're all engineers so I couldn't join in a lot of the conversations. They also all have jobs that are pretty new since we have just graduated and were swapping stories and as I am still without a job, I couldn't join in on that either :( We did A LOT of walking, 8.5 miles the first day and 5 the next. I have one very sore leg but the other is fine - weird! We also did quite a lot of eating as we were camping in the backyard of an old country pub. It was my first camping experience since I was about 9 years old and I think I would do it again - but hopefully somewhere that has hot running water and soap in the bathrooms! I went through half a bottle of sanitizer and didn't shower for two days which makes my curly hair very greasy and disgusting. Ewwwww! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. The job hunt continues for me. I have an interview on Wednesday for a job I really want at a company I've been applying to incessantly for every position I'm experienced enough for so fingers crossed! Have a fantastic week! |
Freedom - thanks. I'm glad it's out on the table, even if it wasn't resolved exactly. I love camping, but I tend to eat the world when we go. Well, ****, I always tend to eat the world ;) Good luck on your interview and job hunting!!!
|
Thanks ade! I have to say I love camping food like sausages but I'd be happy not to eat one for a few weeks - we had them for breakfast both days and dinner one day as well. Aaaarrrgh.
|
Ade- congrats on the goal, hopefully you hit it again soon!
Freedom- sounds like your camping weekend was fun, I am so jealous! My husband and I used to camp all the time but last summer we were broke and this summer he is working two jobs so we haven't been in like, FOREVER! I make jewelry and accessories out of recycled or upcycled stuff. I do a lot of my own paper beads for the jewelry. I am doing a western themed craft show with two other ladies from my office. Which is nice so I don't have to worry about filling up an entire booth by myself! Lucky- I work on the phones too and find myself doing that kind of stuff all the time. :) |
Aww I just realized I have to come up with a new reward for my 170 goal since my husband work evenings 7 days a week. :( It was hard enough coming up with that one! lol Well now I will have to come up with a reward I can do by myself.
Man I was really looking forward to that reward too. :( |
Kay - could you do a night on the town with the girls? Or maybe a "lunch" on the town? Man, it seems like your husband works a ton! Hmm...maybe come up with something like Zan did...I couldn't do jumping out of an air plane. Hmm...what's something crazy you have always wanted to do?
|
Good ideas Ade. It's kind of sad but I have like no friends in my town. Being that it's a college town all my friends move away eventually so I kind of stopped meeting new people here in town. Most of my other friends friends are either older or are busy with babies... I do have a few lady friends that wanted to plan a trip to the bay area. Maybe I will try and make that my reward. We all have saltwater fish tanks and wanted to make a trip out to the bay area stores to buy some new corals! Not exactly wild and crazy or anything! lol I don't know. I will have to keep thinking about it.
|
nah it doesn't have to be crazy. I was just curious if you had any crazy inklings. Trip to the bay area would be fun.
|
I think my crazy days are over (for now). I have done all my bungee jumping and ripcording. I don't know that I would ever want to jump out of a plane. I think it is something I would do with someone else who wanted to (you know, for support) but as for me, I am good on the ground. :D
My first thought when you asked about something crazy I wanted to do was belly dancing. LOL but that is already a reward of mine. I watched this video about being alone (a beautiful poem). I will share for reference... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7X7sZzSXYs A lot of these things I would NEVER do. Maybe I could do one of these as a reward. LOL |
