Welcome back Freedom!!

Zan- sorry to hear about the wasted day. Which reminds me that I have to get some tests done too. :(

Welcome Phoenix!

zanheltangia 09-08-2010 04:22 PM

Hey Phoe, welcome back! You'll be back in business in no time!

Uh oh. Quick disinfect yourself before you catch my cold, I better stop the hugs until it's over. haha.

Sucks, huh, Kay. I left a note for my doc at 8am yesterday and no call back yet. Ah well.

Well, one plus. I hit the 50 pound lost mark. woohoo!

KayNicole 09-08-2010 04:36 PM

Congrats Zan!! That is so great!!!

freedomreins 09-09-2010 04:37 AM

Congrats Zan!

Welcome back ladies!

And congrats Zan! You should be so proud of yourself.

Things are slowly getting back to normal here. Still heaps of aftershocks. I'm still on edge.
But I have been on plan for 3 whole days now which is pretty amazing given we're in a state of emergency!!

zanheltangia 09-09-2010 12:11 PM

Grats on getting back on track, Bex. I hope your place didn't get that much damage. I was flipping through a slide show of images of crumbled brick walls and smashed cars, but I couldn't imagine the toil that takes on you guys with the aftershocks poppin' up like that.

Thank you!
I think I need to go out and find something that weighs 50 pounds and lift it in order to get an idea of what I've lost so far. It doesn't feel real to me. ;)

Ms GenghisCohen 09-09-2010 04:48 PM

That's fantastic Zan! 50 lbs is A LOT of weight. You must be so proud of yourself!

Bex, I'm glad to hear that things are calming down a bit, and it's really impressive that you've managed to stay on track through it. Sometimes I feel like I do better with my eating when other areas of my life are really stressful because it's something that I can control.

I have my weigh-in tonight and am not optimistic. I know we decided to both do really well this week Ade, but I think I may let the team down! I was very liberal with the weekly points over the weekend, and then on Tuesday night a confluence of events (this would be a very long story involving a dead owl, a 2nd date, and my total inability to clean out the fridge) led to my consumption of almost an entire bottle of red wine. I've put that behind me, at least dietarily, but I'm pretty sure it's going to show up on the scale.

Oh well, hope everyone's having a nice day!

ade903 09-09-2010 11:47 PM

Thanks for the advice all...I'm kinda at a stand still right now, but I'll keep you updated if anything significant happens...

Phoenix - welcome back!
zan - congrats on the 50 lbs lost! That is a great accomplishment!!!
bex - again, I'm so happy you and your loved ones are okay (physically, at least). Way to jump back in on your weight loss. I hope those aftershocks stop!!!
Coh - I failed. Epically. Gained .8 this week. BUT I've made grocery list and I'm using my day off tomorrow to shop and cook and prepare, oh my! So hopefully next week we can rock it!

Not much new. School is crazy. Work is crazier. Life is meh. And my body is tired. I've been eating crap for two weeks. So blah. Okay, I promise to be positive next time around.

Have a lovely weekend!

zanheltangia 09-10-2010 11:06 AM

Hey now, .8 pounds is just a minor setback, you'll drop that soon, Ade!.

Dead owl? Oh noes!

Well, it's Friday, yay. ;)
Time for some geek love:

I've been all for the setting goals part of weight loss, but oddly enough, I haven't really been doing the whole "treating myself" part that I figured I should do when I had first started. I keep coming across that now. You know, the whole getting a hair cut at so-and-so weight or get nails done when x amount of pounds are lost, I've read this in quite a few other forums.

So, reflecting on the milestone I just crossed, (or is that 'pound'stone?), I figure I'll mark one down now.

I'm going to skip the Onderland goal that I've got in my signature. That just doesn't seem to be a new goal since I've been gunning for it for months now.

So I'm thinking the goal should be crossing the number 196.9 when weighed in the afternoon on my bathroom scale while full clothed with shoes.

Why so specific of the time and clothing?
'Cause I'm going to jump out of a perfectly good airplane when I get under that weight. And I've read that a BMI of less than 27.5 was good for preventing injuries.

This coming from the woman with a slight fear of heights and who has never ridden a rollercoaster that went upside down.

Yeah, I am changing my lifestyle.
And I'm gonna live my life right now, not wait for "NORMAL", gosh-darn-it!

KayNicole 09-10-2010 05:31 PM

:hyper: Way to be Zan!!! Your goal sounds great and I hope your airplane adventure is scarier than **** but worth it!! :D

Ms GenghisCohen 09-10-2010 07:24 PM

Oh wow. I practically have a nervous breakdown just getting on a commuter flight. I couldn't imagine jumping out of a plane, but I think that's an awesome goal.

Ade, I think you have to gain at least a pound to classify that as an EPIC fail. I would probably go with minor setback, and it seems like you are well on your way to getting back on track. Let's try again this week?

I was actually down 0.6, so for those of you keeping score at home, in the last month I've lost 0.6 twice, gained it once, and had one week of no change at all. Am I frustrated? Oh yes. I was really hoping to be at my goal by the end of October, but that is seeming less and less likely.

To make matters worse, my new dresses finally came in the mail, and I was so excited opening them up, but in one of them the bust is (way) too big, and the other one the hips are too tight. Hopefully those last 5 lbs will make the difference, assuming I ever lose them...

Ugh, so much studying to do this weekend. Anyone else have fun plans?

LuckyDVL 09-10-2010 09:14 PM

Grats Zan! I went skydiving about this time last year, a solo jump, my very first experience with that lol. It was absolutely incredible. The best and worst 5 seconds of my life, no lie!! One of my favorite pictures of myself was taken just moments after I landed and my mind was completely blown with epic adrenaline. It's a great goal, good luck :D

ade903 09-11-2010 08:23 PM

I'm finally back on track (after two weeks mostly off track). I feel good. I've made muffin (turkey) meat loaves, Greek-style slow cooker meatballs and artichokes (holy cow this was delicious), and chili. Ranges from 4-6 points, and basically wipes out any excuse to eat poorly this week (I think I have 15 servings of food between the three recipes, so it'll get me through Friday, woo!). Not much else new. I was up by 10 to get cooking. Then I spent about five hours on homework. Is it so? Will this semester actually be productive?

Hope ya'll are having a good weekend!
