Hi Everyone!

Are you ready for a rant?

I had a total meltdown today! No, I didn't have a major binge or go off plan. I pitched a fit and acted like a PITA with my family. We discussed going to a particular restaurant. The last time I went there and their sister restaurant I had an allergic reaction. (keep in mind that I had green beans both times) I didn't want to go to this restaurant. As you know I have been battling an allergic reaction as it is. I have really stepped up and am trying to get rid of all soy. I have been trying to keep my foods as simple as possible. Anyways, I was going to drop my Mom and DH off at the restaurant. I was going to pick up something elsewhere and bring it back to eat with them. I have done this before and explained to the staff that I have a food allergy. Anyways, there was a lot of traffic. DH said "if I were you I wouldn't get back out in that traffic, I would just eat here." Totally pissed me off. I feel like everyone thinks I am a PITA with my food allergy and they just don't understand. It's not like a reaction will go away after a day or two. It takes weeks! This place is a buffet. I ate the smallest piece of baked chicken breast that I could find, a tiny spoon of collard greens and cabbage. I didn't eat enough food, but I was literally scared to eat there. I hate that I was mouthy to everyone all evening and I acted like a brat. But I also feel that I am justified. I should have done what I wanted to do and not worry about what anyone said. They don't see or feel the sores in my mouth. They don't have to deal with gaining 3 pounds for being 100% on plan or not being able to go to the bathroom, etc. Ok, I'm done! Rant over! Hopefully I won't have a reaction. This can kinda be like a test, I guess. I didn't eat the green beans. We'll see what happens. I'm still pissed, though.

Carter I hope you had a good day.

Rennie How was your day? I hope you continued to have an on plan day. I'm glad you received a letter from your DD although she sounded sad. At least you received one.

Salley Great job on the new low!

AKA You are headed in the right direction!

Angie I am so excited for you to be able to stay at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. I don't know if you can request a special room or not. You may already know about the Garden View rooms. If you can, request one of these rooms.

Ona You are an exercise maniac!

Indigal Hi and welcome to the check-in!

Unstoppable Congrats on the 1.6 pounds!

Diana, I can certainly see why you're pissed. I don't know why it is so easy for some people to "dismiss" people's physical challenges. It's disrespectful and ignorant. And it's the worst when it comes from people you love, who ought to have your back! I'm really sorry this happened. Hold your ground, woman! You don't need to "justify" your needs (or your desires). Your allergies are not a character issue, or a matter of poor fortitude...

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I didn't wake up to a swollen face. Maybe I'm not going to have a reaction from last night. Although, it normally takes 24 hours to show up. Previously, at this particular place I reacted very quickly.

Calories for yesterday: 1240 +
Weigh In: 148
Down: 1.4 pounds

Hello folks!

Diana, how are you feeling this morning? I hope you didn't have a reaction. My partner has a soy allergy - there is soy in so many different foods, it took us forever to figure out that soy was what caused her distress. And now that we know, she is extremely careful about avoiding foods with soy in them! I wish your family would be more understanding about that.

My report: I was on plan yesterday, including our Friday night "date night" - the one night we go out to dinner. (We are huge fine dining and ethnic food fans but over the 2+ years of my process I have developed strategies about how to order at each of the places we go to regularly.). I also got a good hard hour of cardio in. But, my eight was up this morning, one of those really obnoxious big bounces that just leave you shouting "why? why??" at the scale like a great big drama queen.

So, up 2 to 164 today. Sigh, forward ever onward. I planned some awesome cooking for this weekend and I'm off to buy tiles for my bathroom renovation. Good luck and good strength, everyone!

Thanks for the welcome The first thing I decided to do was combine diet with exercise--I've been on a million diets and I've done exercise regimens in the past but never Together. So, I'm eating between 1200-1400 cals a day and getting at least 20 min. of exercise, either with a Biggest Loser video, dancing with my daughter's ipod music, or walking with a friend. Honestly, the biggest thing I'm trying to change is the way I"m thinking. I'm trying to love myself enough to take care of me and I joined this support group for reminders of inspiration and keep accountability. I started a blog too so I can get my thoughts out and work on how I'm dealing with things. I also invested in my favorite facial care products--I make myself go to bed on time, get up on time, get in the shower, and "do my face"--just makes me feel better

Oh-I'm not just eating any old stuff that comes out to my cal. limit, I'm also making every calorie count for nutrition. I'm completely staying away from sweets and all pop, even diet. Mainly, chicken and fish for proteins, lots of veggies and I'm making sure to hit my 100% of calcium I need each day. The idea of calcium being sucked from my bones scares me! I've noticed the cravings for sugary things are already starting to subside and I'm eating little bits about 5 times a day so my tummy is getting used to small amounts and feeling full.

Carter Sorry about the bounce up.

I seem to be doing OK this morning. My reaction doesn't always show up immediately. I have had a rough time since coming back from vacation. I have had a reaction going on this entire time and it's wearing me out mentally. I will compare myself to an angry pimple. This whole week I have been paranoid and stressed because of my reactions. I have felt like I was about to erupt any second. I guess last night I did. The family is normally pretty supportive of me and my situation. One little comment just sent me off last night.

If you don't mind, I have some questions about your partner's allergy. What are her reactions? Can she eat bread? Most breads contain soy lecithin. Is she allergic to peanuts? What are her reactions? Did she diagnose the soy allergy herself or did a Dr?

My allergist is very well known and highly regarded in our area. He suggested for me to take an antihistamine and to give it some time to see if it will pass. His thinking is that maybe it has to do with the weight loss/hormones. He tested for every food that I eat.

My DH wants me to seek out another Dr. but my Mom disagrees and thinks it would be a waste of money. I don't know if insurance would pay to have the same thing done all over again, anyways.

The bottom line is that I am a lot better than I was a year ago. So, have I eliminated some of the allergen or am I just getting better?

Another migraine yesterday... ugh. I took a nap then went to the store to purchase liquid vitamin B12. I've been depressed and lethargic for weeks, thinking it was from consuming not enough calories, and heard boosting B12 might help. I did feel a little better after taking the B12, and even got my apatite back, but it could easily have been from the nap... Totally surprised to see the scale drop .8 today!

I'll catch up with everyone later.

Diana - you're absolutely right about you priorities and choices of food - ppl just don;t understand (it's easier not to care)

Salley - congrats!

qtapostolic - What an amazing start!

I'm 1 lb up (again). Really fed up with it all. I'm going on SBD phase 1 for 2 weeks, just to shake some sense into my body. Hopefully my milk supply won't drop too drastically. My 12 month old nurses still 3-4 times a day, I'm hoping to keep it that way for at least 6 more month. With my older 3 I didn't have the luxury to nurse for as long, since I was working.

Well had another descent weigh in but truly unsure how. I ate like a crazy person yesterday evening. I weighed in this morning .8 down at 188.2. I joined a fitness challenge with 3 friends and a new friend, we registered as a team. The donation collected went to help S.E.R.V.E. and a few other organizations in the area. I don't have to follow any particular plan just lose body fat. My body fat is 40.0 and we have 8 weeks to get it down. So I gotta get my but in gear because I don't want to let my team down, especially since one of them covered my donation. I truly appreciate them thinking of me. I am the heaviest of us all. So I need this big time. Not gonna ask you to wish me luck because I GOTS THIS ... George Lopez

Diana I think you have all the right to be upset. I also think you should have gone to pick something up. My thinking is whatever they put in the green beans may be in the greens. I know the reaction may be to the green beans themselves but you just never know. I wish you all the best with this, but I do wish you would have stood your ground. for NO reactions at all I did well until later in the evening. I just got the munchies or something and nothing was satisfying. One of the ladies I was with today said she typically eats a big breakfast (like Ona said) and then a nice lunch and for dinner she eats a little. She also said that she eats what she is hungry for. ... said if she wants a Big Mac she eats it and she watches what she eats the rest of the day. Because if she ate an apple or a rice cake instead of the Big Mac she wouldn't be fulfilled. What do you think about that? I didn't get a letter today so I'm hoping to get one on Tuesday. I've sent her a ton of letters. I hope she doesn't get in trouble. I heard they sometimes get SMOKED for receiving too much mail. And she has already complained about that. Sorry for the book. Oh good job on the 1.4lbs down

carter you got this that two will be gone before you know it that's funny shouting at the scale, I just look at mind and say "whatever" with a serious frown, LOL.

qtapostolic you have a great plan, great job You can update your original post, that's what most of us do and just post a single weigh in/loss on the new day. However you'd like to do it is fine

Ona look at you go, good job on the 1.2 down , congrats on getting back to the 150's

Salley good job on the .8 down glad you're feeling better today

RRB2 sorry about the up
