Steph, what's the reason your pound down probably won't stick because you lifted weights?

Just curious, since I do resistance weight training, and can barely lose weight...

I started having an allergic reaction before we went out of town at Christmas. I have been taking Allegra ever since. I feel like I have had a small reaction going on for a while now. Maybe I am just getting frustrated with it and want it to clear up. It does seem to take some time to completely clear up. Since yesterday, my mouth seems a little worse. I ate at Jason's Deli. I looked at their website. I had the turkey wrap and it listed soy as an allergen that's in the turkey wrap. I don't know if it's soy flour or soy lecithin in the wrap, or soybean oil in the ranch dressing they use. I think I am going to avoid Jason's for a while and see what happens. I really enjoy eating at Jason's, but I am still consuming a little of something that I am allergic to. It's not a lot, but just enough to cause a reaction. ETA: I just went back to look at the Jason's site, again. It looks like the soy is in the low fat Ranch dressing. Maybe I can order it without that. I can always bring my own honey mustard.

Carter I cannot have cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, larger quantities of ice cream, etc in the house. DH likes all of that stuff plus Little Debbie Snack Cakes, Pop Tarts, etc. I don't have issues with Little Debbie Snack Cakes, PopTarts, etc. So I can have that stuff in the house without having issues with it. I'm weird. Also, since I am allergic to nuts, peanut butter, (or something I can have some that stuff in the house and not be tempted with it.

Ona Hi We are keeping the fight going!

Kukkie Claim that 2.7 until it's proven otherwise.

Salley Congrats on the .6!

CaliforniaDreamer Great job on that pound!

KimL1214 Hi

I was up .4 today, which is not too bad since I had a little peanut butter and chocolate 'moment' last night right before bed..what a stupid time to blow a great day! Today we had an unplanned lunch out at work -- at a pasta place! I ordered spelt pasta and had grilled chicken added to give it some more protein. Still my carbs are 173g today and protein only 94, but my calories are around 1700-1800 so could be much worse. I'm trying to catch up a bit on water now

Diana -- Thanks I'm drinking water before bed right now, I hope it doesn't backfire on me. Sorry about your gain and the allergic reaction.

Carter -- Congrats on staying on plan and in your calorie range yesterday! I hope today went well for you too. I've never met a snack I didn't like either

Ona -- I hope the fish helps you feel more in your routine. I love that you just get your cheese or nuts, as much as you need at that time. I used to do that at the grocery store by my work...I'd buy just two slices of turkey and 2 slices of cheese and then have them on rye crisp bread for lunch.

Kukkie -- Congrats on your whoosh!

Nicki -- Good job on your 1lb today!

to everyone else! Hope it was a great day for you.

Good morning folks. <-- really needing that today.

Thanks for the good wishes, all. Happy to report that I stayed on plan yesterday and avoided the late evening snack-monster. I had a great workout - hard strength training. And, I am down 1, back to my current low of 162.

I wish you all good luck and good strength today!

So the scale was definitely playing tricks, and still is the little bugger. Gave me 4 different numbers this morning between 196.6 and 197.8. I didn't have time to play, so I took the highest number and moved on. Hubby finally admitted yesterday that the scale is giving him wonky numbers too, so he's agreed we need a new one No idea when we'll be able to get it though.

It's very busy at work these days, and I'm taking Thursday/Friday off for the wedding festivities (did I mention DH's cousin is getting married this weekend?), so lots to do before tomorrow. Sorry for the lack of personals, I miss our conversations

Wishing everyone a bright day!

December 2011 starting weight: 203.4; ending weight: 198.4
1-1-2012: 198.2; 1713 calories; 1.5 hr workout
1-2-2012: 199.2; 1286 calories; 1+ hr workout
1-3-2012: 199.0; 1339 calories; rested
1-4-2012: 199.2; 2071 calories; 1+ hr intense workout
1-5-2012: 199.8; 1431 calories; walked 1+ hours (including 3/4 mile with weights)
1-6-2012: 199.8; 1588 calories; low activity
1-7-2012: 199.4; 1548 calories; 1+ hour workout
1-8-2012: 199.6; 1628 calories; 1+ hour workout
1-9-2012; 199.0; 1593 calories; 1 hour intense workout; 1+ elliptical/walking
1-10-2012 198.6
Average daily calories: 1577

Another day up to nearly 1600 calories, and another day the scale has moved... I'm almost down to where I started this month. It's still a challenge eating this much without eating refined carbs like sugar and flour (which I insist on in only small amounts, as they are my "drugs".)

Diana, I'm sorry that allergic reaction is being such a pain about letting you go from it... Hang in there...
Carter, yay for your resolve and staying on plan!
Kukkie, my scale keeps going wonky, too. It's the second one in a row that has periodic bouts of spewing out any number it feels like, with a span of up to 4 pounds! I'm afraid of getting another one... Let us know what brand you get next, and how well it works.
Ona, sleep is good... enjoy!
Coondocks, great job on maintaining!

Salley, my understanding is that strength training breaks down your muscles and that your body retains water to help repair them. I'm usually up a pound after my weight-lifting days. Today's my big cardio day, so I should see a drop tomorrow. Whatevs, as long as it's a downward trend over time.
