I just had a full physical with all of my labs and stuff last month, but I might visit the doctor for advice anyway. I have Hashimoto's and have been on thyroid meds since I was a teenager, so that's not it. My levels were good on my current dose of synthroid. I wish it was something that could be explained!

Kat117 03-11-2013 01:18 PM

I can completely understand that frustration. Perhaps you need to eat a bit more - maybe your body is thinking it is in starvation mode and holding what you consume?

allieballiebee 03-11-2013 02:34 PM

Yeah, I've been trying to eat a bit more this past week. I'm still not able to net 1200 calories on the days that I burn 400+ (1600 calories worth of healthy food is pretty huge from a sheer volume perspective, and I just can't eat that much anymore), but I'm definitely starting to eat back some of my workout calories.

I'm feeling a little more positive this afternoon. I was in major pity-party mode this morning. It's very frustrating, but I know that I'll eventually see results.

going2bskinny 03-11-2013 03:30 PM

195.5 today I've been slackin on my eating I must admit not too bad but not being as strict today is the day I start being strict again so lets see if I can get that scale to pass into those 80s :O

wow congrats kat that would be awesome

aaw sorry allie you must just be on a plateau only other thing I can think of is maybe all your exercise is making you hold water maybe a few days break from exercising would be good for ya. Since ya do it every day.

keep it up shiv looks like your on a plateau as well :(

allieballiebee 03-11-2013 04:37 PM

Thanks, Skinny! I don't want to stop the exercise because I'm afraid I'll lose steam and not drag my butt back to the gym. It's happened before! I think I just need to embrace the fact that my body is adjusting to the onslaught of exercise and I'll eventually start to see results. It's just so frustrating!

Is there even a "getting out of the 180s" thread? I searched the 100 lb Club and didn't find one, but that could have been a user error. :)

the shiv 03-11-2013 11:23 PM

I found it on about page 10, lol, hope this is the right one and I'm not missing something!!

That thread is in serious need of some love, I can't wait to go and keep it company, it needs an influx of people ;)

I AM starting 30DS tomorrow, so please, PLEASE kick my a** if you don't see me holding myself accountable every day! And if anyone else wants to buddy up, let me know :)

Morning Ladies! How is everyone today? Rainy icky day here in Florida but, this too shall pass.

hit 190.2 this morning. Like coming into the 90's - I wont' believe it is going to stick until I see 188, so I will be here for a couple of more pounds. I'll also pop over and see if I can liven up that 180's thread.

I must say that I am happy I have you ladies on this journey together. It is so wonderful to have folks to share with and support.

Allie - keep it up! Don't give up on the exercise. It is always a challenge for me, so I get that if you stop it is hard to go back to it. How about changing what type of exercise? Perhaps instead of areobics (do they even call it that any more LOL) try yoga or pilates?

Shiv and Going2bSkinny - do not give up ladies! I know it is hard I really do. Perhaps thinking of it as your body is taking a rest before it gears up for a big loss will help?

Oh, I started reading an interesting book - Change Your Brain, Change Your Body by Dr. Daniel Amen. It is talking about how your brain controls everything, including weight and how to figure out how to make your own brain as healthy as possible and then it will be easy to lose weight. I am only a few chapters in, will keep you posted if it sounds reasonable or like a bunch of hokum.

allieballiebee 03-12-2013 10:24 AM

Thanks for finding the 180s thread, Shiv! I hope we can all flock over there soon. :) I'm taking a break from the scale for a week, so I'll definitely be in this thread at least until Monday. But hopefully ONLY until Monday. We'll see!

Thanks for the support and encouragement, Kat! I definitely won't stop working out. I have really grown to love the gym (a year ago, I would have laughed in someone's face if they predicted I'd be saying that) and look forward to my classes. I tend to take group fitness classes like Zumba, Hip Hop, and Step, since those burn the most calories and are the most fun/motivating for me. I've done yoga a couple times, though, and am actually going a mom and baby yoga workshop with my daughter this weekend. Should be fun and interesting...she's nine months old and fully mobile, so I'm not sure we'll be able to get to a zen place... :)

the shiv 03-12-2013 11:59 AM

196 again... But I was 199 last week so, hopefully a week from today things will be better. I have to do 30DS within the next few hours so the guy downstairs will still be at work, no excuses! I'm going to edit my measurements into this post so I can look at them every week, since the scale isn't co-operating! Then, in a month if I'm 196 with a 36 waist instead of 196 with a 38 waist I'll have achieved something. I just never expected to plateau so soon :(

Keep enjoying the gym, Alli! :) I think it's true that if you work out for long enough, you can't not lose weight, but our bodies seem to take longer to adapt to exercise than to diet, that's what I hope anyway. Hope your yoga class is fun! What a way to get your daughter used to a healthy lifestyle at an early age :D

Kat, I hope to see you in the 180s thread soon! You must be so proud of yourself, 90lbs down, that's really amazing :D Let us know how the book is! As an IE-er, I'm really interested in that angle on it :) Just stopped counting cals yesterday as I was getting all diet-y and controlling about it, and I need to refocus on being healthy, happy and fit. I'm largely blaming cortisol for my plateau, and that's partly self-inflicted, all this worrying and micromanaging it ;)

Ok, measurements:
Weight: 196 (duh...)
Neck: 15
Bust: 43
Chest: 36
Waist: 38
Hips: 44
Upper arm R: 14.5
Upper arm L: 14.5
Lower arm R: 10.5
Lower arm L: 10.5
Right wrist: 6.5
Left wrist: 6.75
Right thigh: 30
Left thigh: 29.5
Right calf: 18
Left calf: 18
Right ankle: 10.5
Left ankle: 10.25

I know that's a lot, but I want to see what disappears from where! Sorry for lengthy post, I want to look back and laugh ;)

allieballiebee 03-12-2013 12:50 PM

Shiv -- great idea about keeping track of your measurements on a weekly basis! I think I'll do that as well. :)

the shiv 03-12-2013 02:08 PM

Well, something's gotta change, even if it's not the scale :)

Just did L1D1 of the shred. I need to lie down. I feel like I sweated my way out of this thread ;) (I wish!)

Kat117 03-12-2013 02:52 PM

I already have that in an excel spreadsheet if you want me to post it? I track my measurements monthly.

Yay!!! Made my pre-cruise goal of 190 2 days before we leave! 190.0 this morning!

(I'm not even close to leaving you guys though, as I'm sure I'll gain weight on the cruise. I'll be back on the 24th!)

NorthernChick13 03-12-2013 05:44 PM

Hey the shiv!

I am starting the 30DS today too! AHHH!! I am making myself unpack when I get home because my suitcase is in my workout area! I'll push you if you push right back! Haha

And everyone sounds like they've been doing GREAT while I was gone! I am currently at 192.8 and I am really excited to be in the low 190's! I can't believe I am close to the 180's!!!! WOOO!!!
