That's awesome about the previously-not-fitting-trousers, Shiv!
NorthernChick - sorry about your ankle! From my experience with 30DS, I bet that even a lower-impact version of 30DS will be pretty intense. Jillian is not fooling around. :) So, I did that Body Works class yesterday AND then did Zumba. Two straight hours of pretty intense exercise. It was great, but I was hurting and exhausted by the end! I feel surprisingly good this morning, but will probably be hobbling around like an old lady by tomorrow. :) |
Oh! I took my measurements after work yesterday. Hopefully, I'll be able to see some shrinkage here, even if the scale doesn't cooperate.
Neck: 14.5 Bust: 43.5 Underbust: 39 Waist: 39.5 Hips: 45.5 Right upper arm: 13.25 Left upper arm: 13 Right forearm: 10 Left forearm: 10 Right wrist: 6.5 Left wrist: 6.25 Right thigh: 23.5 Left thigh: 23.5 Right calf: 16.75 Left calf: 16.5 Right ankle: 9.5 Left ankle: 9.25 |
Thanks for the support, ladies! I am limping like crazy this morning, but I think of the shiv's Brave Heart comment and i laugh so hard i almost pee! 193.5 this morning but I won't panic until the measurements on Saturday change or the measurements change (in a bad way!) A new work out and post vacay and pre-TMI likely means some retention this week! I am just loving that even when I am hella-full, I never see a 2-something anymore!!!

Darn scale stayed up at 191.2 today. I was premature in celebrating my 90 pounds. But I will get back there!
You ladies are so inspiring! I called my doctor today and asked her what kind of exercise she would recommend for someone with fibromyalgia that hasn't done more than shuffle to and from the fridge for 10 years. After she stopped laughing, she said that the best thing for me to do is start with just 5 minutes a day for 2 weeks. That will help ease the muscles into movement without causing a reaction the next day that will keep me from being able to move at all. Then she recommends adding 5 minutes every 2 weeks. So, I think I will start that tonight. I can get to the corner and back :) Oh, and she said the yoga dvd I have for fibro people is excellent and to start with the 7 minute routine, every 3rd day. So I am excited to be moving! I haven't known what to do with all this energy I have now that I am not carrying around a 2 month old calf! |
I'm not working out today. Too depressed. I would sincerely love to just crawl into a hole and die. I'll do what I can to make tomorrow a better day, because I'll be getting right back in the ring when this passes.

Well, that storm passed by 1.30am. As I couldn't do a cardio workout at that time of night, did 20 minutes of squats instead to practice my form. How has it taken me this long to learn your backside goes OUT and your calves are pretty much perpendicular to the ground? I think I have it now :)
Alli, hope you recover nicely from the BodyWorks class! I'm not surprised you were exhausted after that ;) Here's hoping it gives your body the kick you're looking for and you feel ok in the morning :D Kat, that's great you got the ok with your doc to up the exercise! I hope it's an enjoyable addition to your life, you honestly grow to love it, let us know how you're getting on :) NorthernChick, sorry for flunking out today... :( I hope you had a more successful day. I will be right back with you tomorrow, that's a promise! Right up on my list of priorities :) |
Shiv! I am finally here with you......199.6 this morning, I know it's barely out of the 200's but I'll take it!
|
Hey Shiv! I'm sorry I didn't see that post until now! We all have those days! I am proud of you for doing late night squats! Now THAT is dedication!!!!!!!! I had a tough day yesterday too, AND today is my rest day! So, if you work out today, and I don't, we'll both be on Day 4 tomorrow :) Life's a peach :)
I hope you have a better day! And good luck to everyone! I ate a horrible dinner last night and still saw the scale move this morning. Sometimes you've got to shock your bod a bit to see a change! lol I am fine with that!! |
Think I'll join you guys!
It is official. I've dropped down 11 lbs now and am no longer part of the 200 club. 198.8 yay! Hope I don't get to stick around here too long :)
|
Congratulations and WELCOME!
I saw 191.6 this morning...so close i could SCREAM!!!!!!! it had better stay away! TMI is coming!!! |
190.8 this morning. back down a half pound. I have got to stop getting so discouraged when I see that bump up - all I end up doing that day is eating poorly.
I am making a public announcement that I am going to eat at least my required 4 cups of veggies a day (which I haven't been doing at all) for the next 2 weeks. Nice news is that I did lose an inch around the gut in the past 2 weeks. That area hasn't gone down at all for the past 2 months, so to see that shrink a bit was very nice! |

Welcome, skinnygirldreams :) This is a great thread, but I want outta here too, lol ;)
NorthernChick, you take rest days? I guess that means I have some leeway for when my brain up and breaks down on me :D What I DID do as well, is got overambitious and did 6 real pushups without warming up enough, and pulled a muscle. What a t*t. When I'm frustrated, I do things in haste without thinking, I need to learn to NOT DO THAT. I'll work out anyway, but leave the busted arm out of the equation for now :) Kat, that's great you're nearly into the 180s! But even better though is that you're shrinking :) While the scale number is a great idea of where you're at, measurements are definite :D For now, I'm going to say 13st13 instead of 195. I have a mental block at 14 stone and calling it 13-something might help to cement the idea in my mind that I've got through that, even if it is by the skin of my teeth. So 13st7 stone is 189, and that's when I'm outta here, lol ;) So yeah... 13.13 again today. |
Hey the shiv, yes, I love rest days! I take one rest day once a week, the day before weigh in. I retain a lot of water and I am always lighter after a day of no working out :) It also gives me something to work toward! I've heard Jillian Michaels advocates for them too, so I take 'em! The Last Chance/Biggest Loser had rest days built into it so I am just modifying 30DS :D
And welcome, thinknthin1! Welcome to Onederland!! |
Yay! Welcome to the new Onderlanders! :)
I didn't work out yesterday. Well, I walked abut 25 minutes over lunch, but nothing particularly strenuous. I was in a pretty dark place last night about the plateau I'm in. My husband kept trying to point out that I'm really not in a plateau if I've lost 3 lbs over the last month, but I wasn't hearing it. 3 lbs in a month when I've been busting my butt at the gym AND eating within my calorie goal just isn't "fast" enough for me. I'm feeling a little better about things today, but I don't know how I'm going to react if I get on the scale Sunday morning and haven't lost anything AGAIN. Or, even worse, GAINED weight. |
