Mars, I used to smoke. I hated that taste in my mouth so when I could, I brushed my teeth after smoking a cigarette. That was a lot of brushing. LOL One time I went to the dentist after years with no dental work and the tech told me my dental hygiene was great for not being at the dentist for so long. I still brush often, but not as often as I did when I smoked. Also, I have to brush my teeth before I have my coffee in the morning. I have heard that coffee puts a lot of acid on your teeth and softens the enamel. If you brush after having that acid on your teeth, you could wear away the enamel. So I brush BEFORE so I don't have to brush afterwards.

One time when I was in the hospital I got up early, and would brush my teeth first thing. I was in the bathroom brushing, and I was wearing a heart monitor. Two nurses came rushing into the room and opened the bathroom door then said "Oh, she's brushing her teeth." That up and down motion was really throwing off the reading on my monitor! LOL

Oh my word, you ladies just crack me up!

Carol Sue, love the battle scar comment! You certainly earned that and thank goodness you did! Good for you doing so well yesterday, until last night anyway! Unfortunately those bedtime calories are in cohoots with the scale, lol! Good luck with it again today! Onederland! Onederland!

Mars, I am loving that lower number on you!

Bewildered, aw, thanks! Now, that would be really disappointing if the gorgeous guy were breaking into cars. Gorgeous guys should be surfing, bare-chested, or walking proudly down the street wearing Marine Corps dress blues or...wait, am I saying these things out loud?

Chickadeee, oh you should get a ticker! They are fun! That reminded me that I was able to move my ticker today! Yay! <<< See, fun!

Mary, you had an amazing day yesterday! I wished my rotten days turned out like that! Great job!

Yay Rennie on the good night's sleep, the day off, the "Sunday" breakfast, and the scale dropping! What a great day! I have my fingers crossed for you for another big drop!

Thanks for that coffee/brushing tip, Carol Sue! I always feel a little guilty for having coffee right before leaving for work, without brushing. I need to do everything possible to hang onto my enamel! As my dentist said the first time he saw my teeth "well your dental work has sure put someone's kids through college ".
I'm so impressed you gave up smoking-that's a tough one.

Jacqui Thanks! I'm hoping to get to 164.9 by the 31st, the low 160s!

So we've climbed from thongs to bras to....teeth?

Look at this fantastic recipe for a pizza substitute. You could probably mix in some chopped up pepperoni and other toppings that you like.

STUFFING PIE
20 ounces ground turkey
1 pound pork sausage
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped *
2 ounces onion, chopped (about 1/2 medium)
1 stalk celery, chopped
8 ounces Monterey jack cheese, shredded
4 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
In a large skillet, brown the ground turkey along with the sausage, mushrooms, onion and celery; drain well. Place in a greased 10-inch pie plate. Do not use a smaller pie plate or it will overflow. If you don't have that size, use an 8x8" or 11x7" baking dish. Mix in the cheese. In a bowl, beat the eggs, cream and seasonings. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the meat mixture. Bake at 350º 35-40 minutes until set in the center and nicely browned. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Makes 6-8 servings
Can be frozen

Mars, I hope you hit your goal tomorrow! If anyone can, YOU WILL!
I am sure you will do great on vacation! Your meals are always interesting and healthy. I cant wait to see what you eat, if you share. Egyptian licorice tea! I'm so sheltered.
Will do on the TJ shopping trip. I admit that I am going for their organic virgin coconut oil as it seems to be the best quality for the price, locally. Hopefully if I eat before I go, I won't be throwing things in the cart willy nilly. On second thought, no cart for me.

Carol Sue, great idea to visit changing room mirrors once a week! Thanks for the new recipe!

Rennie, I am so happy (and envious) for you getting 9 hours sleep! No wonder with no off days in almost 4 weeks. You are Super Woman!!! Maybe it is true about good sleep and weight loss.

Jacqui, Woop Woop on 192!
on the talking out loud; so you have a fondness for dress blues, eh? Made me think of Officer and a Gentleman. I cry every time he carries her through the factory.
I wanna ticker too! *pout* And PMs of Jac's new hair doo. Only a few more days til I'm official.

bewildered Thanks! Good luck at TJs. Good idea to avoid the cart. A lot of their foods are full of sugar, things you wouldn't expect, like meatballs. I wear blinders in there, lol.
Yogi brand of herbal teas has many varieties. I get them at Vitacost.com, which may also has coconut oil, another option next time. Shipping is free over $49.

I can't wait to see the ticker you come up with

Thanks Mars for the tips about the sugar. I have been craving meatballs so good to know about the sugar. I'm a big Amazon fan (prime member) and have used Vitacost in the past, too (they loved me when I was vitamin crazy and they shipped from right over in FL). I was very friendly with UPS and FEDEX when I had a house... Now that I'm in the REAL world, I have more options without always having to ship. I'm like a newly legal kid in a liquor store.
As far as the ticker, I like butterflies, too. But, I'll have to see what Ticker Factory has going on. I always liked the rollerblading girl, but it would never work for some reason.

I forgot to say, have a great day everyone! I got sidetracked with the Windows 10 update. New operating systems are as close as I get to a kid at Christmas these days.

Default Brownie Low Carb

OK, I don't want to cause any trouble or be an enabler by posting this. But these are heavenly and low carb. One thing, I used agave (because I can't stand artificial sweeteners) and I would use less next time. But these are moist because of the coconut oil, and I used ground almonds.

These go in the freezer and are only eaten when I need something other than my healthy meals. DH loved them.

Ground almonds, coconut oil, eggs, cocoa powder, sea salt and I think that was it.

Just for the record, this picture was taken on my counter in my kitchen so it is for real. And I did not eat this one, it went back in the pan. (hand on Bible, honest)

Thanks Mars I did YAY for the low 160's GO YOU ... humm I wonder what the next topic will be

Thanks Jacqui, I hope so too .... I'M SEEING 191 IN THE MORNING :goodvibe:

Bewildered, it could be that unaware calorie cycling on the lower end. It shook things up for the moment. You didn't mean to do but it worked, Good JOB Bewildered if you are like me, I start out with a hand basket and then end up going to get the cart to put the hand basket in it, smh I am a true believer that 8 hours of sleep does help with weight loss but I'd have to go to bed at 5:30pm in order to do that. I'd feel like I had absolutely no life especially when my kids go back to school. Our time together will be very limited Bewildered, you were a 3FCer before? I asked because you mentioned the rollerblading mover thingee

Carol Sue, thanks for the recipe, I'm gonna try it without the mushrooms and the celery I will probably add the pepperoni, ... yum it sounds mouth watering. Have you made it yet?

ok I've gotta go to bed, but Chicky that looked like cake, yum

good night all hoping for great numbers in my early a.m.

Those brownies look DELISH! I wish I could keep a pan in the freezer but I think you have a little more willpower.

Today I decided to get up and take my kids to the Houston Zoo...we walked about 3.5 miles within the zoo. I'm up to 12k steps right now. I drank 69 oz of water just in the zoo AND STILL COULD NOT PEE! That's how hot it was. I have had 108 oz of water today and to be honest I am wanting more because that's how hot it was.

Today:
Down 4 lbs from start weight.
Food wise On plan
Exercise: 12k steps
waterL 108 oz plus
avoided all artificial sweeteners (except stevia) to see if this is hindering my weight loss.

There is a new gorilla habitat at the zoo and they were eating full heads of romaine and celery bunches. I know in Dallas I saw them eating lettuce and bell peppers. Oh my gosh I feel bad for them being that big only eating lettuce and celery all day LOL! Surely there is some more high calorie chow in there, right??

Mars, the low 160's would be awesome! I hope you make it!

Carol Sue, yum! Thanks for posting that recipe! That looks wonderful!

Bewildered, yay on the great loss! And oh yes, I love Marines. I grew up in a Marine Corps family, I was born on a Marine Corps base, and I love the Few, the Proud, the Marines, especially in dress blues! Lol! Just let me know when you get to PM and I'll be happy to send you the pic!

Oh Chickadeee, those brownies are fabulous! Oh my goodness! You'll have to post that recipe, step-by-step, in your brownie thread, so we'll have it readily available! I'd love to make that on a Carb Day! It'd probably be 'allowed" on a regular day, but not for me, not with my chocolate tooth! Yesterday, when DH and I went to the casino buffet, he got a brownie, and that was tough for me. The problem was I could smell it, that distinct brownie smell, and of course my hubby asked, "You want just a little bite?" NO! He's always generous with his treats like that (and he eats a lot of treats). I have an all-or-nothing personality, but somehow he still doesn't get it! Lol! No bites!

Rennie, oh, how I wish! I'll be lucky and thrilled if I can lose another half lb! But thank you for the good thoughts!

Mary, what a wonderful day! Yay on being down 4 lbs and on 12k steps! If the gorillas are anything like my big dogs, they don't eat as much in the hot weather. I have no doubt the zoo has their diets perfected. I wouldn't worry. The big cats and gorillas are absolutely my favorite animals at the zoo!

No, Rennie, I haven't tried that recipe yet. I just copied it off another thread this morning. I get a lot of recipes but never make them, since I would be the only one making them. I think I would eat the whole thing with this recipe, and also the brownies.
