Funny story. We went to the casino buffet again today. DH doesn't read the signs that say what things are. They had breaded fried calimari, but he thought they were onion rings and piled a bunch of them on his plate. Part of me wanted to just let him eat them, but I couldn't do that to him, so I told him what they were. LOL He didn't eat them!! You should have seen his face when I told him what they were. That was almost as funny as the time he was headed into the ladies room but I stopped him and redirected him. I so wish I had let him go in.

You guys are doing good!

GO MARS GO

I have decided that I want to be 20lbs down by 12/31 and then 20 more lbs down by my 50th birthday in April to be at goal at 50 would be the ultimate birthday present because I did it myself. I think that's doable ... or I hope I can come close to it. Hope I can get'er done

Really scale? Oh well, lol! Hopefully next week it will start going down! The good news is today is Carb Day! The cookies are baked, the candy is on the kitchen table. I had a slice of toast for breakfast, so I'm holding off on the treats till later. I'm pretty proud of myself for not diving into them right away, lol! I ran out of yogurt, so I missed that this morning. I'll have to get to the store today. I also have to be sure to make the limited hours at the gym. I can't believe it's already noon!

Week 14: High 194, Low 192
8/2--193.5
8/3--194
8/4--193
8/5--193
8/6--193.5
8/7--192
8/8--193 Carb Day

Today's Meals:
Breakfast:
2 fried eggs
2 slices of bacon
1 slice of whole wheat toast
Mio water

Lunch:
Large field greens and veggies salad, with turkey, walnuts, and ranch dressing
A piece of GS Thin Mints candy
Mio water
A few sips of Cranberry-Ginger Kombucha

Snack:
A mint chocolate cookie

Dinner:
A large slice of Little Caesar's pizza
A piece of GS Thin Mints candy
Mio water
A few sips of Cranberry-Ginger Kombucha

Today's Exercise:
3-mile walk around the track, 20 minutes HIIT elliptical (straight through, usually I break it up into two 10-minute workouts), 3 sets of 12 reps each on 8 arm and chest machines and 3 waist and back machines (I'm going to try to do the waist and back machines each time, whether I'm exercising the upper or lower body and see how ot goes. I've been told it's okay to do these each day.)

Mars, woohoo! A new low! You're doing things right! Keep it up!

Carol Sue, I agree with Rennie! You are a good wife! I'm afraid I would have had to let my DH take a bite too, lol! I bet it was so funny when you told him what he had just piled up on his plate, lol!

Rennie, I love your new goals! Yay on the scale moving back down! It looks like you may have found what works for you! Great job!

Bewildered, I actually googled how to make cottage cheese taste better and the only no calorie thing is cinnamon. I scooped out one spoon and added a bit of cinnamon. It doesn't taste bad but it is gonna take me forever to eat the other spoons that make up this cup

2nd spoon 12:34
3rd spoon 12:35
4th spoon 12:35
tried to get my daughter eat a spoon, she said what is it!? Cottage cheese??? you're mean
OMGoodness, this stuff is never ending, I think I have 4 spoons left (YUCK)
5th spoon 12:42 w/ sf gelatin powder
6th spoon 12:44 " " " "

I have about two spoons left. I am done. I can't eat anymore. I think I did good. ... I'm still chewing

Sorry I have no life ...

My sons weight stayed the same. Thank goodness he worked out yesterday or his, pasta, cake, rice and what ever else he ate would have showed up on the scale. Now he's making a cake ... why is he torturing me. This will be my test to get through all of the stuff that these people in my house eat, ARGH

7th spoon 1:22 w/ sf gelatin powder
8th spoon 1:25 " " " "

figured I'd better finish it or I'll be hungry before dinner.

Reenie, I don't know if grapes are allowed on your diet, but I learned to like cottage cheese (and I really do like it now) by eating it with seedless grapes mixed in. A diet called the Metabolism Diet, which I did back in my mid-20's (when I had no business being on a diet at all), had me eating it like that. I still like it best that way! I've heard some people really like it with pineapple also.

Thanks Jacqui , I knew you wouldn't dive into the cookies and the candy How are you feeling today without the yogurt? I had a slice of toast today for breakfast also. I like this way of eating. Thanks for the link. I downloaded an app on my phone, that gives me the 3 day plan but your link gives me what to eat the next four days and I get to choose. I'm hoping I can stick this out. I really like competing with someone and Mars is out of the equation because I am never gonna catch YOU

Jacqui, I think I'm supposed to follow plan for the first 3 days and I am trying trying trying to use self control. As I said before I have never gone pass day one because in my mind this was never enough food. And once again my Momma Hen helped me out and found the calorie counts for this eating plan. I had entered it on MFP but my numbers are a little different but not by much. Today I did get hungry about 1 hour 15 minutes before my lunch time. I think it's because of all the energy and calories we use/burn at work. Now that you've mentioned grapes I really want grapes now. Oh but what I was gonna say is your link gives meal options for the next 4 days. So after tomorrow this is gonna be interesting. Ok gotta figure out what to do with the carrots. I don't like carrots unless they are cooked in a stew or soup. It doesn't say but I think I am supposed to eat them raw. That will not happen

OH son update ... he has decided to go carb free for three days. I said, you just made a cake. He said, but I don't have to eat it!! (smart-alic) OHHHH it smells so good in here

~"~"~"~"~"~"~

Menu
Breakfast
1 slice NO 40 cal bread w/ tsp marg
1 boiled egg w/ 1tbsp whipped salad dressing
1/2 banana

Lunch
1 cup cottage cheese
1 boiled egg w/ 1tbsp whipped salad dressing
5 saltine crackers

Dinner
2 hot dogs --- substituting turkey & a little shredded cheddar, I think I've got me a salad
1/2 cup carrots --- substituting beets, yum
1 cup broccoli --- substituting spinach
1/2 banana
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

Daily Check In and RANT
Finally received some scale love today so IT will live to see another weigh in and not be thrown from the fifth floor window. I know I put the poor thing through a bunch because it hasn't been able to stay in the same spot every day in months and it is getting older... Anyway ONE WHOLE POUND down today but I purposely didn't eat after 3pm ysd just to see if I could see a new trend. I won't do that today so we will see if I have a gain.

I am still 5 lbs lower than I was on July 4th (when I quit weighing for a few days and definitely gained during the holiday); 2.6 lower than my un-pause high 3 weeks ago. So although my average had an uptick last week, there is a tiny bit of progress. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the thought that I might not be holding water weight any longer and have actually gained 15 REAL pounds since January. I don’t see how that is possible because I don’t remember having even one day over 3500 calories much less 3500 more than I burned TIMES 15. Either way, I’ll pretend the water is gone and suck it up that my normal is not normal. And quit over-analyzing it. AT LEAST I will try.

I’m saving y’all from my rant after reading too much keto stuff about how higher calories (too much cheese, nuts, etc) will keep us from losing after the water loss, but WE WILL MAINTAIN. Huh???

Week 1 - High 238.6 - Low 234.0 - Avg Daily 236.0
Week 2 - High 237.0 - Low 232.6 - Avg Daily 234.6
Week 3 - High 237.0 - Low 233.6 - Avg Daily 235.0

Week 4
08/08 - 236.0

Exercise bike 6.27 miles

Good thing I can't smell y'alls cookies and cake. But, I can still smell bacon and pork chops.

Rennie, YOU CAN DO IT! I can only imagine how hard it is to be facing all these temptations in your own house, but I have faith in you!
I have enjoyed the updates on your son’s eating. You mean some kids DON”T torture us??? I sit back and snicker at these people that eat like that and don’t realize...but then he is male, young, and NOT me so he might just lose faster than we think.
Thanks for the cottage cheese eating help. It has been so long since I tried it that I might like it now. I just have to get over the look/texture of it, maybe. I’m always open to trying new/old things but IDK. I might try it again one day when I’m feeling froggie or don’t have so many other new things to explore.

Jacqui, I’m sure you will do fantastic on your Carb Day! You always do!!!
I like that we both think our scales are actually human, at times, and can be talked to.

Carol Sue, I think that we all agree that you are the least mischievous amongst us regarding your husband and not letting him eat the calamari. I don’t know that I have ever tried it before, but may have (on a buffet) and just don’t remember it. IF it is fried, it might be like oysters and I could stomach it. Not fried, probably not going to try it because it reminds me of oysters for some reason. Isn’t it gray and slimey? Ew! And that is from someone that sucks crawfish heads and eats them like they are going out of style every chance I get. I’m not always the delicate flower that I pretend to be.

Mars, look at those lovely new numbers! Enjoy your day and breakfast with your friend!

Have a fabulous day y'all!

Thanks Bewildered and great job on the pound and on the exercise bike, GO YOU Oh my goodness, lol, you're killing me with the bacon I would eat bacon over cake and cookies any day, trust me Bewildered, the look of the cottage cheese doesn't bother me, but the texture. That's why I must have the large curd. But even with the gelatin you see how long it took me to eat it. ... He had better not lose these four pounds before me. But I want to see him not eat a carb!!! I will pay the other 3 kids to text me with a photo of him eating . I know him he is his Mother's/Father's son ... I can resist a ton of carbs talking to myself (lol) and/or coming on 3FC. As long as I'm on here I'm good. I have had texting accountability partners on here over the years but every one of them seem to dwindle off and I'm all alone again fending for myself. So either I get on their nerves and run them away or ??? IDK, but I'll just stick to coming on here and hopefully you all and Jacqui won't leave me again LOL Bewildered, you so remind me of me with your food descriptions My husband is a junk food-a-holic, cookies, soda, chips, ice cream but he's skinny (with a Pepsi gut) So let's see if my son can do this for 3 days.

I don't know what I want to eat for dinner. I knew I didn't want hot dogs because I gain every time I eat them late. I have drank almost 3 bottles of water since eating the cottage cheese and I am full. The link says that if you are going to substitute what is required it should be the same amount of calories. Well I can't hold 600+ calories right now. My dinner time is set for 4:30 but I don't have to be at work till 5 so I can sleep a little longer which means I'll hang out with my daughter watching some Disney something before bed My son is supposed to fry chicken. I love his fried chicken so that will help, then I'll have

I started off doing well this morn eating more leftover roast turkey and a slice of bakery sourdough with real butter. Then lunch was calling so more roast turkey and sourdough but I added fried zucchini chips with homemade buttermilk dipping sauce. . . .I couldn't help myself ....I had a double serving of turkey and zukes. The good news is I'm not anywhere near getting hungry, so tonight's meal will be water with a side of water.
