Only three more days until I leave for Europe…can’t wait! As promised, I finally got around to posting pictures in the mini-goal forum. The pics were taken by me with my blackberry, so they’re a little fuzzy, but they’ll have to do. My daughter is an amateur photographer, and I’ll get her to take some better pictures when I’m in Italy and the U.K. I’m so excited to see her again! As for my weight, I’m moving in the wrong direction this morning… hopefully that will reverse shortly:
SW (A31): 147.75
S1: 148.00 (+0.25)
S2: 148.00 (0.00)
S3: 146.75 (-1.25)
S4: 146.75 (0.00)
S5: 147.75 (+1.00)
GW (S30): 144.00
Turtle: Glad to see you’re almost back to your SW. I’m really looking forward to my trip. I know we’ll do lots of walking, and I hope that will compensate for the few extra calories I might consume upon occasion.
Jacqui: I hope you get back to 195 soon. As for height, I was 5’ 7” in high school. I measured myself a few months ago, only to discover I’d shrunk, all the way down to 5’ 5”.
Stay Puft: Great month so far…keep up the good work!
Joy: Along with the aunts, uncles, grandparents and all those “once removed”…
cheeriloos: 2 lbs so far this month…great progress!
Pixi: Thanks for asking about my trip. I can’t wait to see my daughter and her fiancé again. Just a few more days!
Leah: Yes, it’s amazing how much water affects our weight.
Tray: Your numbers will be going down once again very soon.
Sum: You’re doing really well this month…way to get back on track!
chunkie: Another loss…that’s terrific. I’m very happy for you.
seaurchin: Maintaining through the holidays is better than gaining.
Emme: It always takes me a few days to get over the hunger associated with cutting calories, but it’s not too bad once those initial few days pass. These days, whenever I feel hungry but know I shouldn’t eat, I grab my water and drink instead, which helps to keep my tummy happy.
Tavvy: 4 lbs down already…that’s wonderful!
Rheko: Instead of thinking “If I hadn’t stopped, I would have been”, it’s much more fun to think: “If I keep going, I soon will be….”
Angelique: If your scale is fluctuating, it might need new batteries. In addition, when you weigh daily, you’re going to find that some days you lose and some days you gain. The gains are just fluctuations in water weight. Our body retains water for all sorts of different reasons…here are some examples: (1) eating foods high in sodium (which would include low calorie things such as soup); (2) beginning a new exercise program that makes us feel sore…the body retains water to help repair our muscles; (3) it’s humid outside, which will also cause water retention; (4) not drinking enough fluids, which will cause our body to retain water to compensate; (5) hormones and/or your menstrual cycle, which can cause large fluctuations in water retention; and, (6) all sorts of other reasons! So, if you’re going to weigh daily, you need to ignore the daily fluctuations and concentrate on the overall trends. So far, in only two days, you have lost a half pound, and that’s great!
mjmelwel: Welcome and good luck with your September goal!
nitrus: Welcome and good luck reaching ONEderland!
