Summer is heating up! Let's keep moving! The monthly exercise challenge thread begins with stating our goals for the month, and then continues with exercise logs as the month progresses.

State your exercise goals for the month of July here. They will be added to our goal list. When your goal is met, it gets turned RED in celebration! Track your progress all month long with a supportive and encouraging group to cheer you.

Hi there. This will be my first time posting in these threads and I'm really looking forward to it. I really want to make July strong with exercise so my goals for the month are going to be a bit more ambitious then normal for me.

July Goals:
30 Day Shred 6 days a week.
Bike 100 miles per week.
Do one additional workout dvd Monday-Friday.
Zumba on Saturdays.

Because I'm going to be moving, getting married, etc. this month, I can't promise any consistency in my exercise. So instead I'm going to promise myself that I will workout somehow for 30 minutes three times a week. If I can't manage at least that, it's because I'm not trying, not because life has gotten in the way.

How often do we report on here? Do we weigh in? I'm going to anyways every few days! I work at the airport and am constantly stepping across the scale to weigh luggage, so it's kinda hard not to look haha

July 2 - 20 minutes Olympic race walking.
July 3 - 20 minutes Olympic race walking; 40 minutes walking.
July 4 - 20 minutes Olympic race walking; 8 minutes walking.

Total so far: 138 minutes!

So far, I have completed 2/21 gym visits and 2/13 strength training sessions! Well, technically today wasn't a gym visit because it was closed for the 4th, but I still got my cardio and strength training in so I am counting it! I am right on track to complete my goals :-)

Hey All!! I would love to join this challenge! I really don't know what I am supposed to do though! :) Is there specific goals that I have to set for myself? Do I just do workouts, minutes, lbs lost... I have had a bad start to July so far, except my 5 k run on Saturday...but I guess that I can count that...Help!:D LOL

Today is the first time I didn't do my full planned workout. I was feeling off while I was doing the 30DS this morning, kind of dizy at the end. I decided to pull back a little. I've felt kind of blah the whole day so I don't know if I'm getting sick maybe or if I've been pushing the exercise too hard. I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow.

5/21 workouts done! Did 30 min elliptical, 10 min stairmaster, and 20 min biking. I'm kind of sad I can only do 10 min on the stairmaster and at a super slow speed, but I want to build up to 30 min and going fast!

Today I started with my kickboxing workout and about halfway through I got super fatigued again. I still don't know what's up exactly, but I figure the best thing to do is pull back a little. I'm going to only do one thing tomorrow and then Sunday is my rest day. I'll see how I'm feeling on Monday before I decide if I want to pick things back up again.

I have had a rough couple of days in the past week. My room mate needed someone to hold her hand in the hospital. We were there for freaking 7 hours just WAITING to go in. Once we got a room we were there for another 3 hours.
Today, my dogs nose was bleeding everywhere. Cat scratch. I had to take care of that and have been cleaning blood from carpets for a long time. I'm going to be up for a while, so might try to do the shred still... we'll see.

I've been taking it easy the last week haven't felt so great. Just found out I am preggers :) I'm not going to even attempt my strength goal or dog walks for the month after the miscarrage in the fall I don't want to take any chances. I've been really active the last 6-7months so hopefully the Dr will give me the okay to get in some activity. So I will be back next month I hope don't want to gain to trillion pounds like last time :lol:

How do you adjust your goals for each new month? I'm thinking about seeing how many minutes I end up doing by the end of July, then tacking on an additional 100 or more minutes to my goal for August.

Yay, bopbot! I'll post an exercise challenge thread for August on the last day of July so you will have some place to post your next month's goal. Adding a hundred minutes to what every you end up with in July is an excellent approach. And I'm only slightly prejudiced since that's how I did it!
