The Bridal Bootcamp diet was developed by Cynthia Conde, Director of Fitness at Gold’s Gym. The Bridal Bootcamp uses the same training methods that the U.S. Army uses to train soldiers in boot camp. The Bridal Bootcamp promises to have you looking your best on your wedding day.

The Premise

Conde has adapted the training methods used by the U.S. Army into a fitness program that promises to get women in shape for their wedding days. The diet promises to help brides burn fat, build muscle, get toned and begin a healthy new lifestyle. The Bridal Bootcamp promises to target your problem areas to help you look as beautiful as possible in your wedding dress.

The Diet

The Bridal Bootcamp offers a number of different diet and fitness plans. You choose your specific plan depending on how much time you have left to prepare for your wedding. The Bridal Bootcamp offers six-month, three-month and four-week plans.

The bootcamp helps you determine how many calories you need to maintain a healthy weight. You’ll choose from 1300, 1500 and 1900 calorie a day plans. Conde advises dieters to eat carbohydrates, fats and proteins in a 50:30:20 ratio.

On the diet, you’ll eat five small meals per day to keep blood-sugar levels stable and reduce feelings of hunger, weakness and dizziness. Conde advises adding nutritional supplements, such as multivitamins or protein shakes, to this diet to avoid the risk of nutritional deficiency that can come with many low-calorie diets. Recommended foods include soy milk, eggs, peaches, pears, low-fat yogurt and milk, green leafy vegetables and lean meats like fish or poultry.

The Bridal Bootcamp Diet recommends a rigorous exercise regimen to help burn fat and shape muscle before the big day. You’ll perform an hour of military training four times a week, and you’ll also have the option of adding a more difficult two-hour training session twice a week. You should maintain this exercise schedule for at least six weeks. 

After six weeks, you’ll move on to a maintenance routine that requires one hour of military type training three times per week.

This diet is great for those women who want to lose weight and tone up in time for their weddings. The diet offers plenty of protein to reduce hunger cravings and help you build more muscle mass. You can customize this diet to meet your weight loss goals, tackle trouble spots and meet your individual nutritional needs. You can do these exercises at home or at the gym, and you can turn to an online community of other dieters for support.

Things to Consider

This diet doesn’t provide essential fatty acids and it doesn’t include a lot of vegetables and fruits, so you’ll need a multivitamin to avoid nutritional deficiency. The training regime may be too difficult for many.
