The balance between sleep and exercise has always been hard. We know we should get enough sleep and we know we should get the right amount of exercise, but life is busy and it does get in the way. With some determination and planning, sufficient amounts of both sleep and exercise can be balanced in anyone’s daily routine, and they will reap the benefits of both.
1. Make a Schedule
Planning and making a schedule is a great way to book yourself for both exercise and sleep. By writing down the time to do each of these activities and sticking to the schedule, most people are more likely to get both done. Pick a set bedtime each night and live by it. Give yourself enough time to get the proper amount of sleep and time for exercise in the morning. Some people are not morning people, but scheduling a time to exercise in the morning is a good idea. By doing this, you will get your blood flowing, you will wake yourself up and you will not have to think about this task anymore until tomorrow.
2. Know Your Body
The average person needs 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. Some people will require more, some less. By knowing what the right amount is for you, you will be able to get yourself on a schedule to get the proper amount of sleep each night. When working out, know what types of exercises you and your body can tolerate and handle. With knowing this, you will be more likely to incorporate this into your schedule and to stick it.
The balance of life and getting the right amounts of sleep and exercise will be a constant struggle. By changing up your schedule just a bit, you will be able to get in enough time for both exercise and sleep, and still be able to accomplish what is needed in the day.
