If my muscles hurt bad from using some news ones, or old ones in a new way, i give a day rest, then do cardio on the 2nd day, the pain pretty much goes away then... I use a video called Chalean Xtreme and she says to cardio with sore muscles. Pumps blood/oxygen to the area to relieve pain.

Everything still hurts from that chisel class on Thursday. I took it Thursday morning. I gave it a little more than 24 hours and went to zumba last night to loosen things up (and it worked out well because it was a fun, not overly challenging class). So I'm doing more zumba today and will see how it feels tomorrow.
I've also been drinking lots of water to try and decrease the soreness. I'm tempted to stop weight training because of this (hopefully temporary) weight gain but I know the muscle building is good for me and I think I'm going to stick with it.

Well, I am going to spring clean my bedroom today. It's going to be a big chore. I live with two roommates, so everything that is mine is in my room. I need to get rid of a lot of clothes that I NEVER wear, and go through all my papers and "junk" to see what I don't need. Two weeks ago I decide to clean up my lifestyle by joining WW, but now I need to clean up my environment! Hehe. It looks like a bomb went off in here...

Hello all!

Spooky- the soreness will go away and the weight gain should be temporary because the same thing happened to me when I first started resistance training! DO stick with the weight training- we need to keep whatever muscle we can as we lose weight because (if I recall correctly) every one lb loss is 75% fat and 25% muscle. Also, Jinksie is right about doing some cardio afterwards to relieve the soreness for the next day- something about lactic acid.

Jinksie- Sorry to hear about your car!

Jaedee- 2lbs is awesome!

Mercury- WTG on 1.5lbs! AND getting your ticker too!

, Joanie!

Kim- I agree, you may not be eating enough!

Phae- I need to do the same with my room, lol. Still some stuff I haven't unpacked as of yet since I first moved in October.

Hope everyone is having a great day and weekend so far!

Hello chickies!

I went to my meeting yesterday and had lost 1.4 pounds, so down to 176. I looked back at my weight tracker and that's exactly 50 pounds lighter than I was last year on this date. So, the weight is coming off slower but it is still coming off!

Tomorrow I will be getting up at 4:30 a.m. and heading into Atlanta to run the Georgia Half Marathon. I am a mixture of nerves and excitement and hope I can sleep tonight! I always feel this way the night before a race. Thankfully my husband will be getting up and going with me and will be there to cheer me on at the end, and a friend is running it with me, so I won't be going solo. I've had some minor but ongoing issues with knee pain, so really hoping I can run my best tomorrow.

Spooky, the water retention is definitely from the weight training (and the corned beef - same here on that front!). Definitely don't stop! The water retention will stop and the muscle building is so much better for your body, plus the muscle will continue to burn calories 'at rest' as opposed to fat, which just sits there.

I had to take this advice myself and have to keep remind myself of it whenever I think 'oh, I can skip it today, it's not as important as cardio'

Kimberly, do you usually eat all your weeklies and leave the APs? If so, try reversing it. Leave your weeklies alone, but eat your APs - just make sure the AP eating is nutritious food that is fueling your body and your workouts, not just junk calories.

LitChick - Great loss, congrats!

Weighed in this morning, lost 1.8 pounds, DH got his 50 pound loss award.

We have a contract to sell our house and buyers want a very early closing, like in 10 days. Have tons of stuff to throw out/pack. Worked on going through stuff and throwing it out today. Seems like a lot of activity. Wonder if I could count some as activity points and how much to count?

I'd say so. I'd count it as 'low intensity' and however much time you spend on it. Congratulations on the closing! And on your WI yesterday!

Well, for my second week, I am down 2.4lbs. Whoohoo! I managed to get through my TOM without any binging or going off plan.

I am proud of myself for sticking with it this long - usually by the end of the first week I am done! But I paid money to join WWO and I don't want to waste it, plus I keep thinking - if I can get this far, I can keep going! One day I WILL see the weight I want to see on the scale.

---

Today I have to do laundry, which is one of my least favourite chores. I also have to go and buy some scrapbooking supplies because I am going to teach my Brownies (Girl Guides) how to scrapbook tomorrow night! I really don't know how, but I'm sure I can figure out the basics... anyone got any tips?

Phae, i see you are in Ontario. If you are getting some items to do scrapbooking, make sure you check out your local dollar stores. They had some really awesome stuff in there for cheap that i had seen. Packages of scrapbooking papers, stickers and what not. I have seen the comparison of what that stuff costs and at crafts stores its sooo much more expensive!! I dont do scrapbooking, but i do other crafty stuff so i have seen it in passing.

scrapbooking isnt hard... i think (just an opinion) there's no real skill required. You put phots on a paper, with borders, cut outs of writing/pictures, in an appealing way - just be creative. You can also google scrapbooking and go to images, you'll see a bunch of stuff.

dbertan... there are videos. Im not sure where to find them (store wise) because i pretty much download everything :S But it is latin-style dancing. Salsa, mambo, etc.. some hip hop, alot of hips
