Nancy - that is soooooo funny!!! At least you can laugh about your wrong way whooosh. The toe sounds so painful, hope your management of it works :-)
Your poor mum! I would be so annoyed to miss out on my planned birthday meal! Make sure whatever you get her to eat instead is amazing!
Teri - I can't believe your class for cancelled! (Well, obviously I can but that just sucks). Lately I've been watching loads of YouTube vids by 'veg village food'. It's an elderly lady who cooks food on an outside fire in huge quantities and at the end it all gets handed out to local children. It is sooooo lovely to watch, I can recommend. It's not remotely the same as a cooking class, but it is lovely and pretty incredible to see what she achieves with a giant mental pan and a flame.
Diana - for what it's worth from your updated February just seemed like you had to get through it, then catering for a huge event like feeding 35 strangers dinner AND breakfast, you're going to be mentally and emotionally frazzled. I don't know if you are an extrovert or introvert but personally I'd need a week in bed after that. Me + socialising =
So, anyway, it's not like it's odd for you to feel this way, if anything it is expected so I hope you give yourself a break (not a food break lol, just a break break)
Have been too busy to get online, but overall doing OK in terms of diet. Weight fluctuated up and down since last post, but no extremes. I am sitting at 86.6kg this morning, but is on the downward trend over the past few days.
I am going to start 5K Pro on Monday (I think it's basically the same thing as Couch to 5K app). I am also going to start arm exercises to tone up my arms a little.
Saturday 14 March 2020 Weight: 86.6kg (+0.4 since 7/3) Exercise: 1 hour light walking Calories: 1,047 in Food: Breakfast: GF weetbix (cinnamon & coconut) + 1/2 cup milk (206cal) Lunch: Optifast shake (strawberry) (209cal) Dinner: Thai Red Curry soup & glass coke zero (approx. 417 cal) Snacks: Baked pea crisps, Cob's popcorn (305cal)
nancy, you are too too funny, girl . You make me laugh
Yangzter, Joe how are you doing? You seem kind of quiet.
Went to Walmart yesterday; all the toilet paper gone. Good grief! Apparently someone stole a BUNCH right off a pallet before it got into the store. Crazy. Nancy, any ideas on what to use for TP?
Yesterday I took in 1120 on the NS Plan. Will try to exercise more today.
Jaimsy I AM A HUGE INTROVERT! I do the best I can, but it's tough. I am doing better, though. At least I don't feel like hurling while I am on my way to church now. Don't get me started on the little aliens (aka kids). I am not a kid person, either, but I volunteer in children's church and try to help there.
Last night: Basic stretches
This morning: Oxycise
No comment on calories and no weigh in.
Have a Blessed day and a great start to your weekend!
Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters
March 14
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Will the diet ever end? That question gets asked an awful lot. What starts out as a good idea soon becomes torture. Giving up seems to be such a good idea. It's at those times that we need the most strength. We need something to pull us through the really tough times. The love of God is just what we need. God will give us strength and courage and will help us fight off the temptation to quit. Call upon the Lord, and He will uphold you, He will strengthen you, He will stay with you, no matter how tough the diet gets.
Today's thought: If I can make it through the tough times, I can make it through anything!
Good morning to all!
Well the www went away so yeah for that bit of news
WO will be none formally, although I am braving the element at the mall. Yes I am going with my sister and our plan is super simple....stay 6' away from everyone, bring sanitizing wipes and wash my hands at every opportunity. We won't be there long and looking for one specific item so all is good.
Well my dear mom decided what meal she would like to have brought to her tomorrow. Seems I will be buying two! one for tomorrow and one for Monday (actual birthday) I have to love it.
Diana I think you are recovering very well, I think by Monday you should be back to normal Teri I hate it when that has happened to me Rachel.....hmmm what to do when the TP is gone, ya know I have actually given this some thought. There is tissue in a box, I think there are products that are moist toweletts to use. Or and this is not so appealing. soap and water on a cloth that goes into the wash on the hottest water we got. (not my idea of a good time but ya doo what ya got to doo--pun intended)
To the rest of my lovely chickies I am thinking of you today
oh btw I got some lambs wool for wrapping this toe. So far it is almost comfortable with a shoe on but after my trip with my sis I am sure I will be removing my shoe at the first opportunity
Yesterday, a corona case was reported south of me and today 2 cases were reported locally. I am not sure how close it is... My other social event was canceled. I went to the grocery stores to pick up a few things. Aldi's had nearly bare shelves for dairy, produce, meat, frozen meats and veggies...They told me that they were extremely busy yesterday. The public schools are closed for at least 2 weeks. I guess they are trying to get on line teaching set up. I was pretty "good" shopping. I put back the pizza, the meatloaf, the meatballs at one grocery store. I did buy fudgecicles and splurged on a couple of quinoa chicken bowls...I had part of one tonight. It was pretty good. Maybe, I will try making this from scratch.... I am thinking that a lot of people will be eating more at home...and maybe there will be more shortages at the grocery store. Weaknesses included a couple of almond chocolates, some jellybeans, a jr. frosty, and a fudgicicle. No exercise today. I really need to get on the bike.
Rachel, Nancy: The net has been advertising bidet attachments for $60. I know they squirt water. I don't know if they blow hot air...I knew people who came back from Europe who were gaga about them. I guess a new toilet with attachments is $$$$$$. Anyway, I am optimistic that the shelves will be restocked...Maybe you have heard something else? ...When I was a girl scout, we used leaves...
Nancy: Do you use some kind of ointment on your toe? Maybe your doctor or a pharmacist could give you advice on OTCs. I used to get athletes foot from swimming and not drying off my toes after a shower. It would clear up just by drying it, or using a powder. But I had had antibacterial creams and antifungial creams in the cabinet. Recently I used diaper cream on my toes for some redness and it cleared it right up...I figured if it was safe for babies...Sometimes older family members can be really helpful giving advice with these type of problems..Oh, I have used Epsom salts, too... ...I should probably read on line about this stuff...
Hi all! Yesterday was a wild ride. Things have been changing by the hour. But work seems finally to be settling down in terms of major decisions made, and it looks like I might be paid for some things after all. So that's good!
Today:
Breakfast: oatmeal, muffin
Lunch: lentil pasta w/ marinara sauce, peas, 2 mandarin oranges, 2 pk fruit snacks
Dinner: 1/2 veggie quesadilla, grapes, veggie straws, 3 squares chocolate, ice cream (birthday party!)
Exercise: no exercise, per se, but several hours of heavy cleaning
Ugh, I'm usually a pretty active individual who likes sweets, but this week has been so extreme in both directions. I realized I miscalculated and it was 25 miles Mon through Wed, not 21. Wow! Eating is slowly returning to normal though. I haven't had time to do much cooking, for obvious reasons, and once I do that it'll be a lot easier since I'll have healthy snacks ready to hand. Right now it's just been about getting through the days. I'm trying to be gentle with myself and reminding myself that a lot is changing and it's okay to not manage everything perfectly.
Jaimsy, yup, you did see deep dish pizza! You know... I hate to say it, but I actually didn't like it all that much. It was nice to get so many veggies in (seriously, the slice was PACKED) but I think I prefer regular pizza. Rachel, that's such an adorable story! How is your back feeling today? I've done the back pain bit before... it's so hard and I thoroughly sympathize. Dunno if you've already tried it, but I've found tennis ball massage to be the only way I can manage mine. :/ Diana, that sounds like a delicious breakfast! It sure has been stressful, but I hope you're able to find peace. <3 Teri, I'm in that state west of you, and while it does seem high, looking at the stats and charts and numbers makes it look more reasonable. I think now that there's more testing being done, we'll see the confirmed cases start to skyrocket (Sunday there were none, then 2, then 3, then 5, then yesterday 13, today 26... up up we go). Nancy, that all sounds really stressful. I hope your foot heals quickly, and that you and your mom stay safe. ciecie, you are really rocking it! Mikayla, congrats on the downward trend!!
So I learned tonight they have canx all the weight watcher meetings until after April 4th. They are going to do some virtual stuff so we will see, I am just bummed I can't have an official weigh in for 4 weeks.
But at the mall it was so empty which was good for us. The only people in there were the oldies like us who did not have panic in their eyes. We even ate out at a mom and pop place to support local business. We were careful with hand washing, changed clothes when we got home etc. doing all that we can to be healthy
Tomorrow we do have to brave the grocery store to stock up on some essentials and thankfully we have toilet paper since there is not a roll to be found....who is stockpiling this stuff? And Why? I am just going to pick up some canned goods and fresh veggies
stay healthy and safe all.....Another thought to ponder, why take all the tp, sanitizing wipes, alcohol but leave the soap???? really shaking my head.
