Apparently we reached the 3FC limit on # of replies on the last "Escaping the 140s" chain...so here is a fresh new place to root for each other and to post successes/complaints/annoyances/awesome recipes or whatever, for all of us in 140ish Land!
Thanks for starting the thread KoalaT. I was hoping to be out of here soon, but I seem to have slowed down, so I might as well settle back in to my rightful place in the 140's (for the moment)
I've been at 143 for 9 days now, and after a bit of a planned blip at the weekend i'm back to plan this week with a couple of batch-dishes of roast veggies and chicken stir-fry in the fridge (i'm too lazy to do anything but the minimum amount of cooking which means that if i'm making the effort, i'm making heaps of it to re-heat later!).

So to make a (very) long story short, I've got some new motivation for weight loss, and this is how it came about. When I moved north a few years back to marry my darling hubby, I left a lot of professional opportunities behind, including the dance collective I was dancing with. I really haven't had any opportunities to perform since I've been up here (maybe twice in three years, if that, lol), but I always figured that at some point I would start performing again. Well, it looks like that time has come rather sooner than expected--I've got two totally separate things that have cropped up, including one that should be long-term, and I'd love to be in my best possible shape now that it looks like I'll be performing regularly again. So excited!

Hi girls! Back from vacation (tropical destination by the way) and am looking forward to start again. Did the dreaded weigh-in this morning and didn't lose or gain during my week off so I am happy for now. Gonna start again today. Wish me luck!

Well, back on the wagon today--fell off it yesterday with a very unplanned 600 calorie chocolate milkshake. Hrmph. I'm peeved at myself; I don't mind having milkshakes but that was not in the goal for yesterday. But oh well, back to plan today.
Well done MelodicWarrior on emerging unscathed from your week away. That's a great feat for a tropical holiday! I'm away all next week on a work trip, so that'll be a challenge for me too.
The scale is being super nice to me this week though and i'm down to 141 the last two days

having a mega-whoosh week and down at 140 this morning (indulgent day ahead though so doubting it'll be the same story tomorrow). Also travelling with work for the next two weeks so plenty of challenges there and no weigh-ins. KoalaT - time to update your profile if you're only 1lb to go!
A whoosh for me too! I'm running lights for a theatre production this week and the theater provides dinner during rehearsals, so my eating has been very different from normal. I've been trying to make wise choices, but there's a limit to what's possible when meals aren't in my hands (case in point--Thursday's meal was hot dogs, hamburgers, chips/cheetos, and dessert). So I watched the scale climb up a pound and a half from all the sodium and I went, eh, it'll come down, but I didn't expect it so soon or so much! 145.8 this morning from 148.0 yesterday! Yaaaay!!!
Even better, it's a totally new low for me--I got as low as 146.2 last summer before I had to take some time off from weight loss and got back to 149/150ish. So new ground for the first time!!
same again for me this morning as yesterday, so to be precise I've seen 139.9 the last two days. i'm very happy with that but decided I don't qualify for the 130's thread til i'm properly 139!
Congrats girls! I fell off the bandwagon a little the last two days (poor.eating habits). But I am motivated to start again and join you in the 130s in a month. I know if I work at it I can do it!
Welcome, loveatfirstsight1! I'm 5'1" too, and my goal weight is somewhere around 115. We'll see when I get down there! I was just under 105 when I went to college (I was tiny, but totally skinny fat and didn't look tiny to myself) and have gained a lot of muscle mass and an adult body since then, so I think between 110-115 will probably be where I'll settle.
I've been doing pretty great eating on plan yesterday and today so pleased with that.
