Hey chickies 196.8 no HCTZ yesterday but whoosh.

Yesterday planned 1121 / ate 1121 walked 13,381 steps
Today plan 1134

Went to doctor this am. Thought I had a UTI but it is probably related to a combination of my bladder prolapse + extra water during the day + residual HCTZ water loss + laying down*. FWIW I got up at least 5 times to pee. Eeeeek. But the urine was normal in every way at the doctors office.

*she explained as we get older our bodies are not as efficient at clearing the fluid from our bodies and it all settles when we go to bed which is part of why old folks have to get up and pee more than young folks. Well she took a blood test to rule out any other reasons and cut the HCTZ to "take it every day but 6.25 mg" which means I take the BP pills I was talking almost 70lbs ago and cut them in half for awhile. She also told me to back off from 100 oz a day. She said drink to thirst but I need to find a middle zone because the bowels need it with all the fiber I eat, and the diuretic in the am should help me clear it before I go to bed.

Nancy - Hope today brings another drop.
Emily - sounds like you are doing good.
Dallas - Water is odd stuff - Exercise definitely drives it into your tissues
Glory - Hi! So is that an approach or something you came up with? I am good with what I am doing but it does look interesting.

Hello all
149.2 this morning

GrannyNancy congrats you’re doing great. I love reading your posts. I am very close to my goal, I think another 5 will be ideal. I’ve been really trying this time to lose in a way that is sustainable, hopefully I got it right. It feels like it.

Diana

Nancy congrats on the drop

I have to sign off, I drifted off a couple times already

See you in the morning

Scales showed like a lb loss. Not super encouraging. But tried to make good decisions today. I got in a good walk to lunch and later with my little dog. Fitbit gave me almost 30 active minutes so that’s something. Long day and another one tomorrow. I’ll try to get a longer checkin tomorrow! Goodnight!
Quick yay to grannyn on your successes this week!

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Weekend!

I will be helping with some church projects today. One of them will be painting. Guess who has never painted?

Last night I did: Full Body Stretch (standing)
This Morning: Oxycise Commuter Workout

Calories for yesterday: 1540 +
Weigh In: 186.2
Down: .4

Have a Blessed day!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

January 27

Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

There is a gruesome children's story about a little girl who ate so much that she could no longer move. Then it began to rain, and she died of drowning. Sometimes we try to use terror tactics to get children to do what they should do and avoid things that are bad for them. By the time we're adults, we have forgotten the lessons we were taught as children. There is nothing of any lasting good to be gained from overeating. We need to turn away from what we know is bad, to something better. We need to take seriously the consequences of gluttony, and turn toward God, who will help us change our ways.

Today's thought: I must set my mind on more important things than food!

Dallasgirl celebrate that loss, you can’t lose ten pounds without losing one first

Diana have fun, great opportunity to learn something new. Don’t be surprised if you end up with some sore muscles, doing something you’ve never done might use some muscles that don’t usually get used.

Ciecie you’re awesome

Good morning all,
Had a weird drop this morning, I think maybe because I didn’t drink enough water yesterday, anyway...
146.9 this morning

It’s nice enough to go for a hike this morning so I am excited about that!

Did a little stretching this morning have to do the rest, I got them in yesterday which is unusual for the weekend. Not sure why I always fall off stretching and drinking water on the weekends. Having a big debate with myself about letting my hair grow or cutting it off. I said no haircut until I get to goal, now I have to decide what I want...

Hope everyone has a great weekend

Good morning. 197.0 Little bump but two days no HCTZ and this morning I started with half dose. BP was 112/76

Yesterday planned 1134 calories and ate 1232. Did not walk. Not sure what it was I added but...
Today is planned for 1069 calories and 12,000 steps doing two miles of 4:1 intervals, 15 minutes of yoga and my weight training.

Gratitude: My husband surprised me with a cast iron wok to replace the non stick one he bought earlier. I am not keen on non stick and the finish started flaking off. I will be using it every single day!

Kelijpa - Awesome you are so close. I know maintenance can require as much if not more vigilance than weight loss. Enjoy the hike today!

Dallas - I agree. Revel in the pound. Have something that weighs a pound you can pick up and go OMG. I have thought of buying one of these as a motivator. Celebrate good behavior more than worrying about the weight. I started where you were and sticking with it and this group has been very helpful and motivational.

One thing I did learn is that exercise is important for health and fitness but not so much for the weight loss, particularly if you "eat your calories" because the estimates of calorie burn are usually off

Diana - wow how did you get this far in life without having painted? Wear some ratty clothes! I am very good at cutting in callings and doors and never use tape. The secret there is to not aim for a perfect line but get just a little paint on the ceiling and have a steady hand.

Ciece - Steady as usual!

Nancy - where be you?

Just about to end my first 24hr fast at 10:30am .
My job is extremely physical , so I can't fast during the woor week.
So starting at lunch at work on Friday at 10:30 am I don't eat again until Saturday 10:30 am. Basically after the long work week it's easy to just sleep from 6:30 pm till the next morning, do some chores , writes some posts , watch a tv show. And it's over.

Then I have a weekend feeding window of 1,800 calories Starting at 10:30am Saturday until 6am Sunday, because 24hours later I go back to work.

Then the rest of the week I only eat meals of 600 calories as the average. Normal breakfast lunch and dinner.

Looks like this

FRIDAY 10:30 600cal salad.

Saturday 10:30 steak, and vegtables *note. I find it much easier to recover from a fast if I eat until I feel full. So I have lots to drink too. Green tea with lemon .

Sunday 6am omelet

Monday 6am potato , egg , cheese, blueberries
Mon 10:30am salad with nuts and berries
Mon 6pm salmon with broccoli , tomato, carrots ,onion.
Gym execise

Tuesday 6am protein drink, mult vitamin, oatmeal blue& strawberries
Tues lunch salad with nuts and berries.
6pm steak, potato soup,

Wedneday 6am omelet
Wed lunch salad with nuts and berries
Wed 6pm salmon with synergy foods
Gym exercise

Thursday protein energy shake , boiled egg, fruit pie
Thur 10:30am. Salad with nuts and berries
Thur 6pm Protein shake and salad
Gym exercise

Friday 6am protein shake and boiled egg, fruit pie
Friday 10:30 salad with nuts and berries , boiled egg.

This is what I aimed for and was able to keep near 600 calories on each feeding.

No wieght loss to report this week as I only fasted once last Sunday.

Synergy Tips

Blueberries and Walnuts
Blueberries contain phytochemicals known as anthocyanins that protect the brain from oxidative damage, and walnuts are a rich source of omega-3s that make you smarter. Research has shown that these compounds are even more powerful at sharpening memory and improving communication between brain cells when they work together.

Eggs and Cheese
The vitamin D found in egg yolks makes the calcium in dairy more available to your body — important not only for bones, but for heart health as well.

I add shrimp to a salad of blueberries & walnuts, egg & cheese strawberry tomato onion and carrot with skin.

I make an avocado dressing I got from this site , but I add tumeric but only enough to bring out the health benefits of the the pepper.
Simplyscratch.com/2014/04/creamy-avocado-salad-dressing.html

Creamy Avocado Dressing
A creamy and healthy avocado salad dressing!

YIELD: about a cup PREP TIME: 5 minutes COOK TIME: 0 minutes TOTAL TIME: 5 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
1 whole large avocado
1 clove garlic, peeled
1/2 tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice
3 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Water
DIRECTIONS:
In a mini food processor add the peeled clove of garlic, avocado, lime or lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Process until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides a few times. Thin the salad dressing out with a little bit of water (1/4 cup to 1/2 cup) until it reaches a desired consistency.

Keep in an airtight container for at least a week, but 3 to 4 days is best.

---------
This puts me at 4,000 calorie restriction weekly
Eat healthy seafood three days
Exercise 2 days
Fast two day.

I hope in the future to include jumprope on 4 non gym days two ten minute sessions. After eating last meal of the day.
Exercise 3 days
Fast 3 days
Seafood 3days
