Hi I'm a blast from the past.

Just trying to establish a post

Fish + Broccoli
The Health Benefit: A delicious way to stifle cancer growth

Why It Works: Many fish, salmon, and mackerel are rich in the thyroid-protecting, cancer-fighting mineral selenium. When paired with broccoli, a veggie rich in sulforaphane, the compounds are 13 times more effective in slowing cancer cell growth than when eaten solo.

Try It! Avoid farmed salmon and opt for wild-caught Alaskan salmon to avoid parasites and contamination.

It might be a little awkward posting here as a man lol, but probably 90% of the time I google something related to weightloss this website pops up as the first result. So, I've decided to finally give it a try. Maybe getting more support and talking with others will help me keep on track?

My girlfriend, sister, and I all started Weight Watchers last Monday to try losing weight in a group effort. I've always thought it was a waste, but they both roped me into it. Seems easy so far and the program is very generous with how many "points" it gives, so I guess tomorrow weigh day will show how well it's going.

I'm not very good at losing weight, I went from a high of 300 pounds in May 2010 to 250 pounds in October and I've been stuck there ever since, so it would be nice to finally find something that I can stick with and not give up on in a month or two. I guess I'll report back tomorrow to share how it's going!

Good Morning, Everyone!

Last night I added on: Full Body Stretch (standing)
This Morning: Oxycise Commuter Workout

Calories for yesterday: 1395 +
Weigh In: 187
Down: 1.4 pounds! PRAISE!

Have a Blessed day and a great start to your week.

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

January 15

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

My grandfather always said to me, 'You plant your field, you have to harvest it.' We made ourselves overweight, and we either have to live with it or work to change it. It is foolishness to overindulge, but that doesn't stop us from doing it. Anyone who is overweight knows well that we have to pay for our foolishness. True wisdom comes from God. When we decide that enough is enough, that it is time to lose weight, we can know God will help us, especially through the toughest times. All we need do is ask. God is looking for ways to help us, but He always waits until His help is invited. Don't hesitate. Call upon the Lord, and He will hear you.

Today's thought: If we turn from our foolishness, God will bless us!

Good morning 201.6 new low but I took HCTZ + Losartan yesterday and BP was still up this morning - Not too happy about that. it was 136/88 so not crazy high but high enough to give me cause for concern about why it is going up when I am losing weight.

No time to check in with everyone but yesterday I planned 1144 and ate 1221 calories but Garmin says I burned a lot doing dog training. I only walked 12,191 steps but I guess the effort and varied terrain made up for it.

Today is only 985 calories because it is yoga night.

Will check back tomorrow and follow up with folks.

Thanks for the welcomes ciecie and Diana3271, and congratulations on your loss Diana.

I weighed this morning after I woke up and had actually lost two pounds, which isn't much for someone my size, but it was nice to see a lower number for the first time in a while after gaining about 10 pounds since Thanksgiving. So I'm pretty excited about that, especially considering I didn't really take watching what I eat very seriously most of this week and didn't track reliably. I'll have to do a better job this week and see how next Monday turns out. Have a good day you all and I'll be back tomorrow evening

Good morning to all!
Welcome ksguy

WI up 1.4.....I knew that loss would not stick LOL well I know it is only the sodium from the weekend and if I keep pushing water I hope it will be gone in a day or two. but am down from last Monday by 1.0 so starting the week at 169.0

I have my meals planned for today but have not totaled my sodium yet I will post that later.

The overacting nerves in my wrist are still present but not as sever as last week. I still need to take my b/p but I will do that tonight then send my Dr. an update. The good news is I am sleeping through the night so I am thinking all these symptoms were medication related.

Back later today

BTW congrats Granny on that low

Hello Everyone.

Good news: weigh in today 195 pounds.

Bad News: I have the flu. Left work early last night with a temp of 103. Yesterday I had chx noodle soup and today chx rice soup. Diluted pomegranate blueberry juice and diluted grape juice. Which probably account for the weight loss. Remember on The Devil Wears Prada where Emily says she is one flu away from her goal weight? Ugh. Doc started me on tamiflu.

I'll re-read posts and catch up as soon as this fog lifts.
