Good Morning, Everyone!

Calories for yesterday: 1540 +

Have a Blessed day!

Copied from Crosswalk Devotions for Dieters

January 23

2 Samuel 22:21
The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

Don't expect God to make you thin. You have to do the hard part for yourself. Do know this, however: God will bless you beyond your wildest hopes if you will put forth your best effort and not give up. When we show Him that we really are serious about being better people, He is pleased beyond measure, and He will do all kinds of wonderful things to help us along. When we refuse to give into the temptations, to dirty our hands, then God will reward us and lift us up. All He asks is that we give it our very best effort. If we do that, we will succeed.

Today's thought: God is pleased by my best effort to lose weight.

Good morning - 199.8 - ONEDERLAND but I took 12.5mg HCTZ yesterday so I am a bit hesitant to own this until it sticks. BP 125/83 so going back down.

I think I figured out why BP and fluid issues went up. In early December, I switched from taking a natural B vitamin supplement to a multivitamin with synthetic B vitamins. That is when my numbers started climbing and weight loss stalled. More importantly, the Super B had very high levels of the B vitamins but they are still well below the upper tolerable limits and the multi was closer to the RDA. Strong diuretic there so the question is the working out the pros and cons of HCTZ vs the B vitamins. FWIW, excess B vitamins are naturally diuretic. To me, any vitamins are drugs and drugs are not natural but neither is 1000 calories a day. Also the natural B vitamis did not cause reflux like the multi does even though much higher. Synthetic B vitamins have always caused reflux for me.

Today I am switching back to the B supplement. Not taking the HCTZ. Seeing how it plays out. The BP is not so high that I can't afford to play. Will continue on the losartan 25mg because that is one that slowly reaches a level in the body. The HCTZ does its thing then clears out.

Dog bite. Court date is Feb 23rd [she got a ticket]. I intend to go. Assume she will just pay the fine but if she does not, I want to be there. She did not give rabies certificate to DHEC and told me they did not ask for it but will look at the dog in 10 days. She says the dog is immunized but will not let me see it because I was being "rude" to her. Whatever. I told her if they don't have the chance to inspect the dog in 10 days I will have to get the shots and it will cost money and I will take her to court over the costs. If my dog bit someone, I would be doing backflips to never have something like that happen again and make sure the other person was ok.

Yesterday I planned to eat 956 but ate 931.7.
Today I plan to eat 1088 calories
Yesterday I walked 14,149 steps and did one hour of yoga,
Today I plan to walk 12,000 steps and do 15 minutes of yoga

Ciece - I hope you can figure out how to keep your dad's oxygen in place. I know it is so uncomfortable!
Nancy - I noticed your statement. You WILL succeed. Agree with all on the beer.
Emily - In the scope of things, I would personally put sleep ahead of the exercise. Deep sleep is when the body does all the repair work needed for weight loss. The comment on OTC diuretics got me thinking. My true goal with the HCTZ was BP control. I figure that is important but if the kidneys are working properly, a good diet should eliminate the water naturally. Hence, part of the consideration for B vitamins and levels.

Gratitude - nice conversation with my boss in the presence of the RIFs that we know are coming.

Way to go grannynancy! That's awesome! Even if it doesn't stick quite yet you're just about right there. Congrats, and hopefully the dog bite situation goes okay. I'm guilty of being the "He wouldn't hurt anyone" kind of owner in the past only to find out my dogs weren't always so sweet to strangers too, hopefully this is a learning experience for the owner to be more cautious.

Forgot to check in yesterday on weigh day, but I've lost another 2-3 pounds (the scale couldn't decide between 255-257 so I'm just rounding). I think it would have been higher even, but I had a bad eating day with some chocolate cake this week haha. I'm a sucker for sweets and need to work on that, but at least weight watchers allows for some mess ups throughout the week. The other people I'm doing it with have been better at staying on plan, my girlfriend has lost about 7 pounds compared to my 4, but I'm pretty happy with myself so far. At least I'm counting the food I'm eating now instead of just blindly eating everything.

Have a good week you all, be back in a couple of days

Hi!
I didn't work out last night. Only 2nd full week and going for every other day as I build up.

I've struggled with high blood pressure this past year and have doc appts in March I'd love to show real progress for.

Had a little ice cream last night. I'm a fan of Fiona the hippo at Cincincinnati Zoo and the local ice cream company created a special Chunky Chunky hippo ice cream in her honor. This is her first birthday week. I moved to this area a few years ago. Not a good excuse but one of those things I'll need to learn to say no to more often.

Today has had a fig bar and coffee. 300
Naan/hummus/turkey/yellow pepper for lunch 600
Still working on my first 32 ounces of water.
