Hi, Keika! Welcome!

Well... my WI is tomorrow, and of course that falls on what I think will be the first day of my period. I just want a good WI, and now I probably won't because of the period!!!!

And of course I weighed in at 160.... UGH! It's a huge 6-pound drop from last week, but I want an accurate WI! I can't wait for my period to stop messing with me so I can get one!

Hey girls,

Just some thoughts today. I don't know if I've said this on here or not, but I'm pretty new to this overweight thing. 2015 was the first year where I was even near this big (high 150's), in years past 145 was the big "omg I'm so fat" when I really was just borderline overweight. Now I am for real overweight :/. It's been a beautiful last 2 days in Michigan in the 70's. I'm loving the weather don't get me wrong...but I am shocked at how warm I am and how easily my armpits sweat. Yesterday, and today I got a little bit of a body odor stank (sorry tmi) under my arms that I like never had when I was thinner using the same deodorant. I am remembering now that I had the same problem last summer when I was this big.

I miss my days of being bone dry and being able to not just stand the heat but love it. I guess it's just another reason why I want to do this. Maybe it's because I've been focusing on weight so much lately, but I'm starting to realize how much this weight gain has changed me inside and out.

I'm finally OUT at 159.6!!!!! YAAAAAY!
I haven't seen the 150s since 2015!
I will be moving on to the 150s thread, as I am pretty confident I will stay in the 150s considering I am currently sporting some pre-period water weight.
Thanks so much for all of the support, everyone! Happy Tuesday, and good luck!

Thumbs down Adventures in Scale Accuracy

I have a weird feeling about my scale. It does this thing where it gives me like 4 different readings, and then when I try to re-calibrate it get's stuck on a number that doesn't make much sense. It's a taylor scale from probably 10 years ago. It's a very cheap model ($15) and has seen some abuse from all the comings and goings of moving out of college dorms and apartments. It's technically my brothers, he forgot it at the house when he moved out. It measures in 0.2'.

Today I thought I'd experiment with the two scales in the house, the other is also a Taylor my mom has, it's about 15 years old but built much nicer. She swears by it, it's heavy as ****. It measures in 0.5's only.

Weight straight from work with clothes on:
Cheaper but Younger Taylor: 170.0, Nicer but Older Taylor: 169.0

Weight after eating a small dinner with water w/ clothes on:
Cheaper but Younger Taylor: 171.6, Nicer but Older Taylor: 170.0

Weight after eating dinner w/ water with NO clothes (nekked):
Cheaper but Younger Taylor: 168.6, Nicer but Older Taylor: 168.0

I guess the takeaway on this is nothing except that at least one scale in probably not that accurate. The differences on the cheap taylor are extreme to the point where I wonder if my clothes really weigh 3 lbs, or if it's even possible to eat/drink 1.6 lbs of food for a 600 calorie meal and a cup of water. I've decided to buy a new scale called eat smart on amazon. I figure I probably owe it to myself to buy a new one.

Scale is supposed to come Wednesday!

Hope everyone had a great Easter! My eatsmart scale came early, I haven't used it enough to really know if I love it, but I have a good feeling. Even though I'm not excited by the post-easter celebrations weight, I think the scale is probably accurate...hoping to reach my goal this week which is 164 lbs even.

Default it's been slooooow

@bloominbutterflies - You can catch up. Just keep at it.

I'm the same too. First 2 weeks was a lot. and then it kind of stalled. I'm now on my 6th week. My goal was to be 160 by end of April. Hopefully I can still do it. Need to be strict with the diet and less going out.

Thing is I'm kind of stuck with cooking dinner everyday and being around food doesn't help. You have to cook and taste these dishes to see if ok. That still adds calories.

Anyway, no need to beat myself up over it nor make excuses. I just need to man up and be diligent at working out and sticking to the food plan. I'm regular with the working out. It's the eating that's slowing me down. Sigh.

Butterflies: It always seems to be that different scales have different ideas about how much we weigh. Just another piece of evidence to prove my personal philosophy: all scales are dirty rotten liars. Best of luck on your catch-up time, and we look forward to seeing you again when you're ready to come back!

Reboot: on reaching your sixth week!! That's a big milestone! I figure the first six weeks or so of starting a new lifestyle are the hardest, so sticking with it for so long is a big achievement! It's only up (or perhaps down?) from here! Good luck on your goal to reach 160 by the end of April; I'm rooting for you!

As for me, I'm still around, and still at 169. Shrug. It's not because I've been bad, either; I'm still eating right and exercising, but for a couple of weeks now, I was stalled at 170, and even (frustratingly) bounced up towards 172 once. I don't know what it was... right now, I'm tentatively thinking that it was a combination of my cycle and the stress of performing on the last couple of weekends. Now that those are over, though, I've seen a very encouraging decline. Here's hoping that decline continues, and I can log in at 168 in the next couple of days! ;D

"Official" weigh-in today put me at 167.9! Huzzah! And now I'm going back to only stepping on the scale on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I've been saying that for a while now, and I just can't seem to stop myself from checking every morning. That's an indication I need to "scale" back, I think.

Congratulations Keika!

I'm kinda bummed. I haven't been binge eating but i haven't been strict with what i ate the last week. It's just the cravings were overwhelmingly strong. It's that time of the month. So I weighed myself this morning to find myself at 168. I seriously need to double down. I hope it's just period weight/bloat.

I think I need to weigh myself every morning again. Lately I decided to weigh myself once a week. And I find that I lose slower because sometimes I think I'm doing well, but I guess I wasnt.

Anyway, going to hit the treadmill in a bit. Thanks for listening to me moan.
