You have to be a member for 20 days and have 20 posts. Once you have both, you use the "User CP" menu and click on "edit Signature."

I don't know if this applies to you, but maybe you could just walk given you are starting your journey now. I've lost more than 40 lbs so far and i still can't run because my knees hurt a lot and they were never that good, even when i was thinner. Perhaps it would be more motivating for you to walk greater lenghts than run, because there's a smaller chance you feel pain. Pain always discourages me when it comes to exercise.

Have a nice wednesday, everybody!

Cheyenneb4u, i had a childhood that looks a lot like your son's. Since you've asked for help, i'm gonna say that i was very very protected and it helped in many situations, but i wish someone had taken the time to teach me how to deal with real world people. I had very little chances to learn how to stand for myself and be less naive in some areas of my life and it was tough becoming an adult. The good news is there is light at the end of the tunnel and since i'm a major nerd i did just fine in my academic life and other areas in which most people i know strugle a lot. One thing you can definitly do is to help your son strengthen the good friendships he may already have. I had 2 true friends and my mum helped me stay in touch with those kids more often, which was great. Good luck!

Marina Brasil... that is great advice. I totally want to make sure he knows how to cope in the "real world" with all kinds of people. I will have to definitely make it a point to make time for him to spend quality time with his few good friends! =)

Hi Everyone - I have just been catching up, have been so busy the last few days, but it has been a good few days for me.

Hiddenstar - Good job on the loss this week! It can be really hard with high sodium intake -(I am a salt junkie), but if you can cut back on sodium and increase your water, you usually see a significant loss.

Cheyenne - My heart is aching for your son and all children that are subjected to bullying. Hopefully your son will not be permanently damaged by this stupid, senseless behaviour. I know how much it hurts to see your child hurting.

Fightbbrave - To help with my food management, I pre-plan as much as I can, and I write down EVERYTHING I eat. That way I can see when I lose or not, what works and what doesn't. I have heard that a good brisk walk is as good or better than running, especially if you are having pain.

Have you looked at the military diet plan? It only last 3 days, but it's a great way to kick start some weight loss and get some motivation. And if you stick with a similar type of meal plan afterwards.. that's good too.. You can do the 3 day plan one a week!

Military Diet Plan
3 Day Diet Menu Plan
The Military Diet, or the 3 day diet plan, is a short term diet where you can lose up to 10 pounds a week. The actual diet plan for the Military Diet is detailed below. Here’s a menu plan to help you plan your 4 days OFF the diet: 1500 calorie diet plan.
Drinks:
Water is the best thing you can drink on the Military Diet. So drink as much as you can! Artificial sweeteners aren’t good for you, so try to avoid them. Read more about artificial sweeteners. You can also drink no caffeine herbal teas or use Stevia as a sweetener.
For coffee addicts: I really love (need) coffee too, so I understand why everyone writes me about coffee! Caffeine withdrawal is no fun either, especially when you’re on a low calorie diet. So here’s some good news… Black coffee has less than 10 calories per cup, so if you need to sneak in a cup here and there, just cut out the equivalent calories elsewhere. Do not add cream and sugar. You can add Stevia if you like. You’re welcome…

DAY 1:
Breakfast
Military Diet Plan Breakfast Day 1
1/2 Grapefruit
1 Slice of Toast
2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter
1 cup Coffee or Tea (with caffeine)

Lunch
Military Diet Plan Day 1 Lunch

MMM Tuna. Hot dogs huh? That seems weird to be on a diet plan... but what do I know. It's just a 3 day deal huh? Is it from the military, did a marine create it? Just curious.

So, I'm getting married next year. Aaaaaaaand, just booked a winery for my venue.
Going to go all wine themed! Wine and champagne color theme, wine barels to hold the cake and the sign in, Wine bottles to be the center pieces with the numbers on the bottle, a cork board to hold the "Union of" sign, and still thinking of other ideas. Pinterest is coming! So excited.
Working on my LAST CPA exam. Once it's taken, I'll be FREE to focus on just weight loss and my wedding.

That is SUCH a great idea!!! I LOVE wine and champagne.. and they happen to be beautiful colors too!!! How awesome. I JUST finished the 3 day military diet a few days ago and I lost 3 lbs!!! I'm going to do another round of it starting tomorrow!!! I felt comfortable with my food intake.. a could tell when it was time to eat I was ready.. but I wasn't soo hungry that I hurt or felt gross. I ate nice and slow.. and spaced my meals out so they lasted nice and long... another thing I did.. I warmed up my apple on the dinner day 1 and ate it WITH my ice cream... I can't believe I lost weight eating such yummyness... BUT.. the diet is specifically designed so the each food chemically reacts to the food eaten with it to increase it's metabolizing rate.

The diet was designed by a military man who used it as his own personal diet but shared it with the members of his church congregation! anyways! I'm so pleasantly surprised and happy with the 3 lbs drop.
