To everyone else- Good luck! Have you all thought about what you are going to have for Thanksgiving? All my American friends are thinking about making a giant Thanksgiving dinner for all our Irish friends. I'll have to make a great vegetarian dish (but I'm also not eating dairy) or at least lots of veggies. Any suggestions?

Hi Tigger! I've told most of my family (Mom, Dad, sister, nephew, etc.). They've all been really supportive of my decision and I really wasn't expecting them to be.

I've even cooked black bean burgers for them and vegan banana muffins. They absolutely LOVED them and I come from a very blunt family, so it wasn't just them being nice.
I think another reason they've been so supportive is that my aunt was recently in the hospital with heart trouble.

She's 100 pounds over weight and eats very unhealthy. (Although she's even asked for some of my recipes.) I think they see how good this is for my body and are kind of interested in some occasional meat free meals themselves.
I wouldn't fear telling your family. There are so many good reasons to go veggie (cruelty, antibiotics in meat, etc.). Even though I'm from a traditional, southern family, they've been very supportive and interested. Best of luck when you tell your's.
