Fat Chick B Gone, I know what you mean. Sunday I had slept at my parents' house, so I had to use their scale. I was afraid it might weigh me 5-10 pounds higher, but it weighed me a pound lower than my lowest. I'm not at all sure that was accurate, but it was still fun to see --- and that was only 1 pound, so 19 pounds, wow Definitely a sign of your future!

This weekend's Thanksgiving dinner (we did it early because everyone here works on Thanksgiving) was a disaster. I decided to try a Celebration Roast...it was horrible. I absolutely HATE wheat meat. It's been decided. Basically, the only thing I had was two rolls that my mother left the butter off of, a baked potato topped with a little earth balance and Tofutti's Better Than cream Cheese (tastes more like sour cream by itself to me).

Ohhh well.

Sorry! Was that Celebration Roast a brand product or a recipe?

It's a brand product.

http://www.celebrationroast.com/

But honestly, I've tried several different prepared and homemade "wheat meats" and I've concluded that they're just awful. At least IMO.

And this may sound stereotypical but what is it with veg*ns and sage??? Most recipes I see call for sage. I HATE sage now. Eww. I'm going to have to start making my own things up...and just taking ideas from said recipes.

Thanks

I'm starting to realize I don't like alot of...prepackaged veg*n things. So I just tend to make everything myself...unless time doesn't allow. Then I usually just have nuts to keep me going until I can get home.

Sorry the food didn't go so well. I think some seitan products are definitely hit or miss.

Well, I posted some stuff on Craigslist, and I've been playing tag with the one person who's interested, and now I think she's blowing me off! So I called her, but she's not answering. I told her to call me and let me know if she's changed her mind. So frustrating. I should have tried to sell this stuff months ago, when people still had money...

Also, one of my dogs has a hot spot, which means another trip to the vet. I could vacation in Europe for what I spend on vet bills. I love my animals so much, but they are SO expensive!

So, I'm still cranky and not making the best food choices. I need to work out, but I'm still holding out hope that the girl will call me, so I don't want to miss that. Uch.

But on the happy side, I had 3 baby deer in my back yard this morning. They were so sweet. I put out corn for the deer, so I've seen the babies before, but this was their first time without any adults. Too cute.

Alright, I am going to straighten up and fly right! I'm going to make a salad for lunch and that's that!

Have a great day!

I'm sorry to hear about your dog

But good luck on getting yourself together! I'm doing the same!

You can do it!

Hello. I have decided to go vegetarian. I am in my first year of pagan ministry scool, and, as I learn about consciousness, our impact on others, and reverence for earth and it's creatures, I decided I can't go on eating meat. It's not my first time doing it, but, I'd really like it to stick.
My Dd lost her guinea pig yesterday, she found him dead. She said he'd refused to eat for a day or so, and that was it. We'd only had him a couple months, I was inconsolable, if I had known, I would have tried to get him to a vet. But then, sometimes there is death that's just random and senseless, mites or what have you.
I am cooking all of Thanksgiving dinner this year. None of my family cooks, and I refuse to spend another year at Hometown Buffet, this heat and serve cafeteria type place, where the food sits under lights, you know what I mean??
I will be making a turkey breast for them, plus my roast. Heather, I aggree, I'm probably in the minority but I think tofurkey roasts are awful! I found a recipe out of "Fat Free and Easy." You puree firm tofu and corn starch, scoop it into a loaf pan, and fill it with a stuffing mix and bake it. It has to be better than those predone roasts. Then, I'll make my vegan gravy, cranberry apple compote, and some kind of green bean caserole. All while jazzing out with Benny Goodman and my Persian cat, Princey. I'm really looking forward to that. I mean, the one thing I can really do very well, bessides sing, is cook.
Look forward to being on this thread often. Have a peaceful day, all.
Amie

I started at 161 pounds at five three. I'm now down to 153.5. Current weight 153.5, Christmas goal 143-145, goal weight 130. We can do this.

Hi jazzmegirl! Welcome to our challenge! Your roast sounds like a really good idea. Sorry to hear about your loss. Losing pets is so hard!

Haley - I just noticed the post about your biopsy results - scary stuff. Here's hoping everything is benign and surgery goes well.

Erinmagill - Mommy and me sounds like a neat class plus you're showing your child good habits early on!

Jazzmegirl - Welcome! Pagan Ministry School, I had no idea that existed. My mom studies paganism on her own and I think it's the one religion I identify most with. I'm very sorry to hear about the guinea pig, losing a family member is so rough.

Darby - Sorry about the pup. No kidding on the vet bills - I swear I need to go back to school and become one just to save myself money!

Okay girls weigh-in tomorrow! Let's all have a good OP day I have to go grocery shopping tonight and have a long list to try some new recipes - yea!

Good morning!

Well, Craigslist girl called and we're meeting today. So hopefully I'll make enough to pay for the vet !

jazzmegirl-welcome!!

erinmagill-I had heard that those baby and me classes are tough! Good job!

Heather-what new recipes are you trying?

Ok, you know how some people knit or do some sort of handiwork to keep from eating? Well, I found a website that keeps me busy, so I don't eat. It's a website for kids, called coolmath-games.com. It's all these fun games and I'm totally addicted! I got my husband addicted too.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to wean myself off it because I seriously spend too much time on it.

Have a great day, everyone!
