Well done Homersmummy!

I've run home from work now. The traffic wasn't actually too bad in the end, but it was nice to stretch my legs a bit. I walked a fair bit of the way because I'm meant to be tapering and taking it easy, and it wasn't a training run as such (plus I had a rucksack), but I still covered the 5 miles in 57 minutes which is actually pretty decent.

I'm trying to decide whether to go out again later. I can actually hear it pretty clearly from my front garden (Orson are on at the moment), but it's a nice evening to wander down to the park and maybe have a bit of wine at the pub next to the park which will hopefully be slightly less packed by then once everyone's gone inside. I probably will, as it's gorgeous out there and it could be one of the last nice Friday evenings this year.

I don't want to post this below Ms Superfit YP.

I am soooooooooooo tired, for a week I have been taking stuff to the recycling bins and back once or twice a day I'm exhausted. It's only a 5 min walk to them. I'm fine on the way but on the return I can hardly walk. Backs are odd. My bad back is fine when I have tons of stuff on it but with an empty rucksack I'm in pain.

Good pics HM.

Now Michele have we seen your before and after pics?

Well, that was more drinking than exercising, with my stunning local knowledge I worked my way to a bit of un-fenced-off park behind the stage where I was about as close the the action as the people in front of the stage, but just couldn't see. On the plus side, there was room to move around, no queues for the loos, and you could bring your own booze (I knew I put that wine in my bag for a reason ). So I heard the whole thing live tonight, and I'll watch the tv version tomorrow to see what was going on on stage!

Now I just need to work out whether they'll let me run the same way tomorrow morning. I hope so!

I'm peeved off because they've had to postpone my blood test until Tuesday. There's a big (huge more like - 90,000 people are there!) Robbie Williams concert going on today and tomorrow in the park literally within 15 mins walk of my house (it's going on as we speak - I can hear it if I open the window). So when I went up to the docs for my blood test, the receptionist was like "erm yeh sorry it's cancelled - they are refusing to send any vans out to collect blood samples today because of the Robbie Williams concert."
Stupid if you ask me. Oh well nothing much I could do about it. Gotta wait until Tuesday

You must live really near me. That's the same concert I was talking about, and I could hear it from my house too (although I went down to the park in the end).

That's too funny that you both apparently live quite close by...hopefully you can get together and have a meet up...

I had a nice walk with hubs and the dogs this evening, last night I found a nice walk to do, without going down the same roads twice, so that'll be our doggy walk from now on, unless we go to the wooded park area I've also found up the road, but haven't checked it out as yet.

Went out for dinner tonight, had a baked lazy mans lobster dish, it was loverly! Absolutely delish and I ate every mouthful, there was lovely scallops in it as well as huge shrimp...will have it again if we go there for another time. I'm going to make the most of living on 'the cape', loads of sea food, and lovely places to walk, this weekend we can take the dogs on the beaches too, so that's a plan probably on SUnday.

Have a good weekend all...

PS. Sarah, try some mashed up cooked butternut aquash for something soft and mushy to eat, I ate a lot of yoghurts and jelly too, nice on the gums cos it's cool...

The best was the last time it happened - I was chatting to someone on a different message board and it became clear that not only did he live in the same area, he actually lived about 10 doors down from me on the same road!

I should be doing a 12 mile run today and then going over to Liverpool to meet up with some friends, but I seem to have lost all sign of my energy and just want to curl up somewhere before a long day tomorrow - Wigan aren't going to be relegated (confirmed last night) and tomorrow is PARTY TIME!!!

Had a good time in the gym last night! I've finally corrected my squat form, so I'll be loving them from now on! I hit a 10 on just about everthing I did! YAY

Then I tried out a rival kickboxing club. They are very weak at sparring. I beat most of their black belts However they do do a lot of combinations that are a bit wierd, like things with odd steps in them. And fakes. That's just wierd! Their side kick is warped! They want you to TURN YOUR BACK ON YOUR OPPONENT then kick them. Yes. Sounds like a GREAT idea! Espescially when you're fighting Ninja Jen who sees all your mistakes!

I had a tin of Rice Pudding when I got home - reallly just about the only thing in the house to eat!!!! I must go shopping! We've no eggs or anything! Let alone CC or fruit or veg

I'm off to kickboxing and ikea today. I'm figuring I can get some kickboxing practice in at IKEA!

I wish I didn't have any food in the house, then I wouldn't be able to eat it all...

Still haven't dragged myself out of the house for my run. Must do it soon.

My run didn't go according to plan It just didn't feel right at all, so rather than risking injury I only did 5.5 miles. After all, everything I've read says I can't do anything to improve my performance at this stage, so I'm not risking injuring something by finishing the run off. I do like my HRM though - I'd set a target zone on it, which meant that I could control my walk breaks in the second half of the run a lot better, if I walked for too long it started beeping like mad because my HR was too low and I had to start running again to shut it up! I might use it on that setting more often.

I think it was partly a bit uncomfortable because I ran last night and had less time between runs than usual, but this morning is the only time I could fit my weekend run in so I couldn't give it any longer really.

DH works for Ikea (not in one of the stores though) but he's store visiting today so don't kick anyone cos it might be him.

I like Robbie Williams' music (particularly the swing CD) but I think he's an idiot. Good looking though....

Thanks for the suggestions about what to eat (I found out about the gum cooling delights of sugar-free jelly a couple of days ago). I'm doing okay with soft foods during the day, its dinner thats causing problems - all my normal food seems to take a lot of chewing which is why we've been having stuff like Spag Bol, curry, that kind of thing - savoury and tasty but with not much in the way of chewing involved.

Woo Hoooooo - only a day or two we're going to have a few days away in a friend's cottage in Cornwall again. Its a beautiful cottage in a great location - we've been there before - right on the top of a cliff but only 4 minutes down a path to the beach, very isolated but the access road is pretty good so its easy to go places. The cottage is supposed to be haunted but - as usual - I've never seen or heard anything. Anyway, if anything weird was going on I'm sure the dogs would let us know.

I have a new cat

Mr Adolphous Tips Esquire (gotta be Tipsy for short!) came to live with me last night -he is unable to stay in his current home any longer. He is a striking Black and White tom cat with a black face a a mere hint of white above his upper lip (very Errol Flynn). My other 4 cats are bemused, but strangly enough no cat boxing, a few sweary bits other than that nowt! I'm sure there will be the mother of all cat boxing matches later.

and my birthday pressie from my mum came early (a week!!) 2 tickets to see The Levellers I'll just get my stringy dog .....

Hearing everyone talk about Cornwall is making me homesick ... I was born there and my mum is still there. Desparate to go home but I have 4 no errr 5 cats and no cat sitters My mum had to come up and cat sit when I was at Reading Festival.
