Aah Gale - that what you said about TOM would explain how when I am on I actually lose weight - which everyone else thinks is weird! I thought it was down to my feeling so blah I don't even want to eat much...

A very good evening to you all.

You girlies are very synchronised with your periods!!! Glad to hear your all ok though.

Work wasn't too busy today and I didn't eat any biscuits. I am shortly off to the gym. My house is very quiet my boys are out with their father so I am making the most of the peace until they come back.

Very sad about Steve Irwin my Conor loves him and I had to call him out of bed this morning to tell him. The four of use stood around the tv in the kitchen all gormless listening to the news.

I've had my haircut it feels too short for me but my friends say I look young which is always nice to hear, and even nicer than that was being called tiny!!

There is a new "Life begins at 40" starting tonight you know the programme with Caroline Quentin in. It is filmed in St Albans I've seen them often on their shoots.

Take care everyone

Michele

I got a new trainee to play with today, she seems OK but didn't choose our department so I don't know how she'll cope with it if it's not what she wants to do. We'll see.

I can't have run far enough yesterday, I can walk relatively easily today. Either that or the training is actually working I suppose! A mere 5 miles tomorrow, and for a change I actually feel like doing the full distance on a Tuesday.

My sister is arriving tomorrow, I'm not sure she'll be impressed with my fridge full of healthy veggie stuff. Still, at least she has no expectations of being fed - she tends to stop at the supermarket on the way here and load up on junk and meat. The problem is when she leaves it in the house when she goes back to Spain and it sits there tempting me to eat it. I probably won't see too much of her, she's getting here lateish tomorrow, staying til Thursday then disappearing until Sunday I think, but I'm in London on Sunday so probably won't see her, then she goes back to Spain on Monday. Then I get two weeks off before my mum comes back.

I'm definitely not doing the parachute jump. I was still wavering (I knew that logically I shouldn't do it, but part of me wanted to), but then they moved it to the day of the marathon, so I guess that's jumping effectively ruled out!

Probably another early night tonight. I fell asleep at 9pm last night, but I feel so much better now. I just need to make a quick trip to the supermarket first.

Hello everyone. Sorry everyone is having such a cr@p time. My weight loss isn't happening at the moment. I waver around 11 st 2lbs, or go up whatever I do. I have been leading a very active life recently as well. The weekend before last (I can't believe it is that long since I've been on here - evil internet connection) I was breaking up a concrete slab with a sledgehammer and then digging foundations (my sister was amazed, when she came home with her BF and saw me her mouth literally dropped open and she kept calling me an Amazon! - I was strangely very pleased) and then it was my first ever 5K race in London on Sunday - and I did it! It was fantastic. A race consisting of 20,000 women is going to be busy and chaotic. I put myself near the back of the "running under 35 minutes" section (the section in front of the walkers) and I guess a lot of them hadn't read the signs as there were a lot of walkers in front of me. People also hadn't listened to the instructions to go to the right hand side of the course if we needed to walk, so a lot of us runners had to spend our time dodging the walkers. Due to the crowds at the beginning, I also had to take much shorter strides than I find comfortable. There were also a couple of pretty sharp switchbacks at the beginning and the congestion meant that we all completely ground to a halt and I ended up jogging on the spot a couple of times because I really wanted to run the whole way. So it was a very slow start, the first 2k took over 16 minutes to get through. However it did get a lot better, and I was fine running up the hill towards the end (benefits of practice! ) and even managed a sprint finish! I finished in just over 37 minutes and I with everything that happened I am very proud of that.

Lou1978 - did you manage to go in the end?

Anyway, I hope everyone has a better week this week. I'll try to come back and chat again!

Well done Pachyderm, you did really well.

I'm having a bad day already. My sister has arrived from Spain and was meant to be hiring a car, but didn't have a credit card on her for the deposit (because it's at my house - she lost her old one and hasn't been back to pick her new one up yet, and my mum didn't think to take it back for her) so she's having to get the train to Leeds to pick it up, and then back to Manchester Airport to get the car. I was out for a run the first time she called so I could't just read the number over the phone. Hopefully I'll be able to meet her at the station on my way to work.

My run today was good, for the first time I was actually able to back up from a long run with a 5 miler without resorting to walking. I almost wish I had a couple more weeks of training to get some extra long runs in now my body's a bit more able to cope with them (mind you, I think on Saturady morning i'll be glad it's only 12 miles not 20!)

Anyway, must go, I'm running late as it is.

G'morning, Ladies!

I've got yet another dentist appointment this afternoon - this one is going to be the worst of the lot - the front 8. I think the stress of it is getting to me, I've got a cracking headache (3 days now!) and DH and I have argued for the first time in the 10 years we've known each other I just want it to be over and get my new gnashers.

I must admit that I haven't been keeping to my diet - I haven't thought about counting calories or nutrition for this last week, ever since Dr Death told me the front 8 were coming out today - but, strange, my clothes feel a little looser.

Good morning to you all

Lovely to hear from you again Patchy and well done.

Sarah it will soon be over I would be crapping myself I've not been to the dentist in twenty years. Like you I have the worst phobia I understand fully where your coming from. It's horrible rowing but thats all it was just cross words because your feeling so stressed. Get on the scales I bet you've lost you little minx.

I am still nine stone 13 and a bit and stuck.

Grey old day here I have loads of stuff to do around the house but brekkie first me thinks!!

Have a good day everyone

Well my TOM is finally over, so I stepped on the scales this morning, and I'm down 3lbs from the last time I weighed myself.
That means I've officially lost my first 5lbs!
Woohooo!

I've been to the docs about my rash and it's what I thought it was http://www.aafp.org/afp/20040101/87.html

I'm eating too much, for my 10am "meal" I had about 250ml oat milk, 2.5 scoops of PP, a banana and some pecans! But I have only got chicken and veggies for lunch and a sweet potato with cottage cheese for afternoon tea!

My bike saddle arrived yesterday I fitted it all by myself so tomorrow I am going to cycle to work! I just have to find a nice easy route!

Last night at kickboxing only Lee and his son turned up. Harry's only 3, but he did the class. We did 20 minutes and Lee was cracking up, which of course cracked me up! Harry will be a superstar blackbelt in no time!

For everyone! Well done on the running Pachyderm, Lou hope you feel better soon, Sarah hope you are better too, Xena well done with the weight, Helen you're a superstar! Anyone else I've missed - you're great too!

I think my sister has sorted herself out, or at least she's been back home and she's not here now so I assume she's out in a car somewhere. What's more shocking is that she hasn't filled the fridge with yet. Only a matter of time I suspect...

Shock news of the trainee is that my trainee is a WAG! Only a lower division WAG, but she's still going out with a professional footballer (even if it's not anyone I've heard of. Come to think of it, that doesn't mean he's no good, I haven't heard of half the England team...) She's still going to obey my every order for the next 6 months though

And I forgot to say last week, I think my little sister's about to get engaged. That makes me feel really old and spinsterish. They're trying to get hold of a ring while they're over here (they want something with a bit of family history to re-set the stone, so they're going to pester grandparents for something). I'll have to find something stunning to wear!

Oh, and another person completely didn't recognise me today. I love it when I'm sitting next to my boss and someone asks me whether I'm coming to the meeting, then I have to point out I'm already there. It happens less often now, but it's still fun watching their faces when it does.
