Hello!!! I'm back!!! And I'm prolonging the holiday vibe by sitting in the garden in a bikini drinking red wine and making the most of wireless internet. I feel surprisingly awake considering my flight home was at 1am, I landed at Manchester at 5 and then got the train to Leeds, went straight into work then lugged my case home on the bus at the end of the day.

Not sure how awake I'll feel at 5.30 tomorrow though when I attempt a 5 mile run.... I ran twice while I was away in the end which I was quite pleased with. They weren't long runs, and I didn't go out often, but I did something other than swimming, and it's quite hard to run there with the heat and the wind (really strong winds in my mum's town - it's a big centre for windsurfing) and the locals doing the Spanish version of the passegiata. I had to develop a fantastic sidestep to get round some of the old biddies out for their evening constitutional!

But the big news of the holiday is... I went for another round of sales shopping and I bought some trousers. I wore them to travel back in last night and they are... SIZE 10!!! I haven't been on the scales since I got back, and I don't intend to for a few days, but even though I expect to be up a little I suspect that it won't be too bad as I was relatively good, for a holiday at least.

That might change after this bottle of wine though, it's very drinkable and it's very pleasant sitting here getting a bit more sun.

Welcome back YP, sounds like you had a nice time and congrats on those tens.... that's wonderful.

Hope you're all surviving the HOT weather over there, my Mum said she's keeping her curtains closed and her fans on and she feels cooler that way, I'll have to tell her about the loft door though, thanks for that tip Sarah.

It's HOT here too, and humid as we're in monsoon season, we actually had a smattering of rain drops tonight, it was lovely for the ten minutes it lasted, then it just felt horrible and more humid, I've cooled down now with a late night swim in the pool....let me see if I can put a pic in for you all to look at and it may help you cool down....

That's the advantage of going for a run in Spain - I went out for my 5 miles this morning and it felt cool!!! I'm glad I've got that out of the way and I'm back into routine, only 2 months til Berlin now!

Must remember to throw my dad's chocolate digestives out of the house on my way to work. He bought a pack, ate three and then left them here. Last night they caught my eye and I ate too many so they're going in the bin to stop that happening again. I can go for months or years without buying them and without missing them, but once they're in the house I'm addicted.

Argh chocolate digestives are the food! Welcome back, well done on your 10s skinny minny

Well I missed kickboxing to "look after" DF and guess what - he worked late. I'm so MAD again! MEN! UGH! I was getting a bit heatstrokey though. Never mind.

Missed my early morning run, not coping too well with this heat. Have quite a big headache brewing, drank about 11L water yesterday, went to sleep at half 9, woke at 4am, then when the alarm went off at 10 to 6 I wasn't feeling too bright at all. It's the heat. I just can't cope I need to lie in a darkened room.

to everyone 'Down South' - its hot here but the radio is saying that you will be getting it even hotter.

My friend went to pick up her kids from school and as she stood chatting to the other mums she didn't realise that the pavement was so hot that it had slightly melted the underside of her flipflops. When she took a step forward, her flipflops didn't and she toppled over. Actually, flipflops are blummin dangerous - I fell going up the stairs in mine the other day - they seem to almost grip the carpet.

I've given up with cooking - its TOO hot. Even BBQ-ing was a misery last night, so tonight we're going out for dinner - just me and 'im. I've booked a table at a (cheap) pub which is by a river where we can sit under a canopy and, best of all, they specialise in cooking fish spectacularly well. Yum!

Choc Digestives - yuck! Now... give me a plain digestive with a nice piece of Gorgonzola and I'm your girl!

Size 10!!!! Brilliant! Helen, what size were you when you started your new way of life?

Frus - being hot is miserable.

I don't feel particularly hot and sweaty, but it's gone to my head! I don't like stupid headaches! I don't feel too hot sitting here, but my head is pounding! I even took an antihistamine since I thought I might have hayfever, since I have a permanently runny nose and I'm very very thirsty, but it doesn't seem to have helped

You think I'd notice in this heat?

No but I have had a cold recently (last Tuesday was off work with it) I'm thinking the sniffles are from me getting over that, but TBH I am always snuffly and blowing my nose and sniffy I think it's biking, temperature changes and exercise that brings it out the worst.

And I am drinking a helluva lot recently, but I've noticed that when I exercise I sweat more too... Probably the heat!

Just take it easy - don't work out too hard in this heat. How about going swimming rather than going to the gym?

It's great - the gym is the coolest place! I'm quite glad I missed kickboxing - we don't get drink breaks much on Tuesdays. Something I am breaking away from in my classes, however none of the kids move enough to warrant them drinking at the moment!

There's no pool nearby and I couldn't do the getting dry thing in time to get back after lunch! I really love to swim and got fairly decent at a half mile but I hate getting changed afterwards!

I my air conditioned gym!
