  • thats how we acquired one of our cats she was a stray and we felt sorry for her so mum fed her. She used to bite and scratch and was pure evil but within a year she was in in front of the fire and didn't leave for 12 years until she got run over by a car.
She also used to go round the neighbours every day because they gave her milk and we didn't.
My cousins cat regularly disappears for a week at a time too so probably has another home set up somewhere.
  • We had the most AMAZING thunderstorms last night and, as Moo says, the rain was absolutely torrential and lasted for ages - the dogs were racing around the garden, loving it. We decided to sit outside under the canopy and enjoy it (and a pre-dinner glass of wine). Then electricity went out and didn't come back on for another 4 hours.

What I hadn't thought about was the way it would turn my normally difficult scramble/climb/walk in to a complete mud-slide. OMG, it was difficult enough climbing up the slopes but it was lethal sliding down them. I came down the longest one on my

Mr Chav finally came back last night and Mrs C was all over him like a rash. In public. In their front garden. This morning she has a black eye and assorted other bruises! Why do some women put up with that
  • Sarah - RAWK = rock, you rock, but with an American accent

We went out to Giraffe last night, I had a super-healthy grilled chicken salad It really was called "super-healthy" too! It was yummy too!

The scales say I'm down 3lbs since Wednesday

I had a good kickboxing class yesterday, sweated buckets, got some valuable purple-belt feedback. I should be able to go for my belt test in a week or two. Then at the grading in September I should be able to do blue, then brown before Pregnant Girl comes back and there's not really a gap between brown and black since I am already teaching. I think if you were doing it "properly" they'd make you teach for a year after you got brown, then give you your black belt. Since I am "officially" a black belt (for insurance purposes) then I should get it straight away!

Oh and I bought some pretty shoes in New Look yesterday, and some long-ish shorts and a tankini top for Bournemouth! I am the only girl going! don't tell DF!!!!
  • OMG - I've got one of those somewhere - probably in this size - I remember buying it! I wonder what I did with it.....?
  • Nope - just found it - its a size 14. I doubt I'll fit it this summer.
  • Good morning to you all

Well I've not been up to much really working, moaning about the heat. You
would think that his heat would make me not want to eat but oh no
my appetite is the same as it ever was.I've not been to the gym but
    have walked most nights.

My weight which was ten stone 2 now seems to be a pound over that. It's
under control though. We were at a barbecue last night where I had a good
feed including choccy gateau and cream which I thoroughly enjoyed. I don't
beat myself up about things like that as all through this journey I've said to myself if you really want it then have it

A friend of a friend had found some pictures of me at my heaviest. Dear god
was I a big lump. I never want to be like that again.

Its great wandering around my garden in a bikini top and shorts. Although
my son has an absolute stroke when he finds me with his Nano tucked in my bra or bikini top listening to music. I said wherelse can I put it!!!

Today I'm going to sit in the garden for a while then I am going to have
a drink with my father. He seems to be very well thank god. He is going home
to Ireland for a week next month for the first time he has asked me to arrange
a wheelchair for him his mobility really isn't that good and there is no train to
the gate to Kerry ( Stansted Airport) and it is quite a walk for him. I shall
be looking after my mother for the week. She won't stay here but will come
for dinner and I will pop round in there each day. She will now get in the shower on her own but needs alot of prompting. I can't really remember a time
when she wasn't like this she has been ill for so long, but she is happy and
hasn't had any psychotic episodes for about eight years now. Bloody ****
don't I go off on one sometimes.

I have to make my own poached egg today Martin is helping my little fella
deliver leaflets. Eldest boy is in usual position on sofa watching WWF wrestling.

Have a lovely Sunday and an equally good week

    Michele
  • My run today was rubbish, I managed about 6 miles and then just ran out of steam and pretty much walked the last three miles back (I took a short cut which knocked 2 miles off the planned route). Still, I'm not going to let it get me too worked up, I've still got plenty of time toget some decent long runs in before Berlin.

I'm heading over to Warrington for the rugby now. I've decided to go on the train for a change, even though I'm not intending to drink too much, for a change, and to let me use the travelling time to read and do some Spanish revision rather than being stuck behind the wheel in the car. I've packed myself a lovely picnic - a big vegetable and feta salad with falafel, mixed strawberries and raspberries with yoghurt, some pittas stuffed with rocket, roast peppers and cherry tomatoes, some houmous to add into the pittas when I get round to eating them and some extra bits of pepper to dip into the houmous. I'm only expecting to get back at about 8, so that's pretty much my food for the day. I might chuck an apple in too, although I've probably got more than enough to keep me going!
  • Do you think its the humidity? I didn't feel particularly enthusiastic about walking much this morning.

I've got feta and spinach salad for lunch today, with one of those huge tomatoes sliced, with a few olives and chargrilled red pepper.

My dinner's a bit different from yours though - organic shoulder of lamb (got it at that farm last week) slowly braised in red wine with shallots, puy lentils, garlic, bay, thyme and rosemary, served with roasted carrots, cauliflower and broccoli (I use that butter Fry Light stuff - works great on veg) and runner beans. DH is having a baked sweet potato with his, I'm just having lots of veg.

Its gonna take a while to get used to not having a carb with my evening meal!
  • I went to the gym today... which was nice.
I didn't do much, just about 30-40 mins, but for my first day was ok.
  • Homersmummy - Well done! Did you enjoy it? Did you have your induction today as well?
  • Well done Homersmummy. Did you ever go swimming in the end?
  • Hi all. I've been away camping. I wore my shorts!!! More than a hundred people saw me in my shorts!!! I haven't worn shorts in 15 years! I had a great time, my legs are still white, but my arms are brown.

Cats are funny. When I lived in Oz, I had a great mate who died of HIV/AIDS, back in the day when homosexuality was still an offence in Tasmania. So he had no family to speak of, they had all disowned him. So he asked his estate to ask me to take the cat (after he died - because as the ensuing story proves- he wasn't convinced I would take it). The cat was called Trubs. This is short for Trouble. And the animal was nothing but. I adore cats, but Trubs was completely psychotic, neurotic and every otic you can think of.

The first day the cat moved into the kitchen. I couldn't cook dinner because it threatened to take my leg off. The thing was an enormous tortoiseshell with muscles like Frus on creatine. I rang for pizza, the pizza man was told to come to the back door (farthest from the kitchen) he came to the front, I'm yelling, the cat is mewing (kinda like a Siamese on speed), and eventually he got his money and I got the pizza.

The cat used to terrorise the neighbours. My now ex hubby and I watched out the window with great amusement whilst Trubs tried to bond with the neighbours over the road, and the man of the house turned the hose on it.

Then we didn't see Trubs for a while, she popped around occasionally, but then would take off again. Some different neighbours came round to see me "You know your tortoishell?" ...and I'm thinking the worst, like its broken into their house and eaten their Burmese or something....."Well, we think she's the most affectionate, beautiful cat we've ever seen, she sleeps on our bed every night, we love her to bits and we're moving 400 miles away. Would you mind awfully if we took her?"

Well I would have given them £50 to take the thing. So Trubs got a new family, and I got my life back! She never even let me pat her!
  • Quote: Homersmummy - Well done! Did you enjoy it? Did you have your induction today as well?
Yeah it was ok. But I've forgotten how to use the machines already.
It was my induction today but once he's shown you the machine you're let loose. I went on the cross trainer, bike thingy and tread mill... and this thing that you just wind up with your arms... dunno what it was called!

Might go on Thursday again, but if not definitely next Sunday.
  • Quote: Well done Homersmummy. Did you ever go swimming in the end?
Nooo. I am so embarrassed by my body. Smiler53(on here) is going in the gyms pool from next week, she asked me today if I am going to... but I'm not.
I desperately want to, but mheh.
  • cats are weird thats for sure.

Just take it one step at a time homersmummy if you go regularly you'll get confidence and can maybe consider swimming then.
