Or if they do, they haven't found the eggs yet. Dad is very lazy with shutting the ducks in and they've lost 3 or 4 now. I'm glad they don't have chickens because it'd probably be carnage!

Anyhoo!

Had a fairly nice weekend. Ate too much because I was VERY tired yesterday. We went walking down Finchley Road to look in estate agents windows. Seems we will be able to get somewhere for our cash, but it will be small. I'm not too bothered if we downsize because if the location is closer to town then that's fine by me. Also we will be able to save a little bit if we opt for somewhere really cheap and DH reckons we'd only be there for a year since we talked about buying a place. I am going to look into how much mortgage we can get

Had a good nap yesterday afternoon and watched a French wearwolf film

Hello!

Sarah - the pasta was really nice. I had the leftovers as pasta salad yesterday, and I may well be making it again if I get some more broad beans.

Yesterday was a long day. I started at 9am in Denshaw (on Saddleworth Moor), walked from there down to Marsden. I was going to run it but realised I was facing into a howling gale, and it was hiller and more off road than I expected. I thought it would be footpaths like the off road I stuff do down here, but it was very much just moorland. I also got slightly lost a couple of times so probably ended up doing about 7 miles. I ran the last couple once I got back onto the road and the wind dropped a bit.

Then I got the bus from Marsden to Huddersfield, stopped for a coffee and reading the paper in Huddersfield. Then the bus from Huddersfield to Bradford. I had some sandwiches then met up with everyone else. We walked round the pitch in the pre-match parade, collected some money then set off back to Denshaw.

Believe me, starting a 21 mile walk at 3.30 in the afternoon is asking for trouble! The pace wasn't too slow, but even so it just seemed to take hours. It was baking at the start, but got colder and colder and colder. By the end we were walking down the side of the road across Saddleworth Moor in the dark with no streetlights and no footpath - scary!

I reckon I did about 27 miles in the end. I dropped out just before the end because their B&B was about a mile further along than where I'd parked the car, so given the time and the temperature I really didn't fancy walking to the end with them and then walking back for the car.

Some piccies here

My legs are fine this morning, I've just been for a swim to sort them out

I almost wish I was doing the whole distance with them rather than working, but I realised I'd get grumpy about food. Yesterday I was OK because I took my own food with me (and then got teased for thinking their food wasn't good enough/not sharing) but the truth is that I know what sort of fuel I need to do 27 miles in a day, and I'm not going to leave it to chance. I'm also not going to carry enough for everyone for 27 miles! If I was going further obviously I wouldn't be able to do that, and I'd hate not being able to plan what I was eating. Not least because the meal they had waiting for them at the B&B last night seemed to be entirely meat based so I'd have gone hungry if I had been relying on eating it.

Anyway, that's enough rambling on. I now need to see how my legs feel this evening before I decide whether to go to running club tonight or run in tomorrow instead.

OMG - Helen, Saddleworth Moor is SO creepy! You are much braver than me - no way I'd go there in the dark.

Morning girls.

Well I may have to put the AC on today. Last night was brutal trying to sleep.

Did a dorm run yesterday. When did she get so much stuff? So will go back Wednesday and get the last of it.

Frus hope you're able to get a place of your own. Good luck with the mortgage.

What a fun day I have had in the office (not!). First we had been waiting for 2 freezers (under bench jobbies) to be delivered and the ones without alarms on taken back. So I was told to wait until they phone. 'They' didn't. I rang down to the porter warning him 'they' will be coming in with 2 freezers and dropping two off to our lab. Well of course 'they' had dropped them off with the porter and scarpered without the return ones. So I then have to hoik them down myself with the little trolley as our porter had to relive the other one for lunch and I had no idea when 'they' would be back again.

Then the boss wanted me to go to the TNT place in Vauxhall to deliver a lap top (it is then sent on to IBM). I had to fin Nine Elms Lane/Road/whatever. Well ok I knew Vauxhall Bridge Road as I used to be a commutant on the buses there, however, I got off too soon and had to walk and took ages finding the blasted place - in all that heat! I had a quick look at the very brown Thames and came back again at 4.45! What with that and trying to sort out 2 lots of freezers- I have not done much today - so rewarded myself on the way back with an orange calippo. Very needed as it is quite hot out (well it was where I was trudging the mean street of Vauxhall!

Sarah Ann - are you near the Dales? I only ask cos I was watching the DVD collection of the Beiderbeck Affair/tapes/connection and the Jill and |Trevor characters were skiving off school (they are teachers!!!) and the scenery there was gorgeous! I loved those programmes and my mum has them on audio tape as well.

2frus - I hope the prices in the Estate agents windows were not too off putting. They keep saying the bubble will burst soon but in the meantime it is rising again. Ah well.

I've decided not to run tonight. My legs are a bit sore, but could cope with a run, but I'm just so tired I think it's better to rest tonight so that I have more energy for running when I get back to it. I'm just so sick of all this training at the moment, I'm so glad I've only got a week to go before I get to taper. Most of the eating and less of the running, yay!

Hello everyone

Oh Merciful Jesus Veggie are you ok? What happened? Hope you have a good night sleep.

Well I've lost two posts since Saturday morning. I've done that thing that Sarah suggested maybe things will improve. I've been a busy girl since the row with the hubby which is more or less forgotten now. I didn't buy him a Toblerone but bought him back a plastic pen from the National Gallery when I when to see the Renoir exhibition on Saturday. Himself and the boys were hugely impressed with them!!! Girlies and I had a lovely day in London. Had the most crap meal though. In some Italian restaurant in Leicester Sqaure we should have known better really but we were starved. The menu was bolloxs and I am a girl who normally loves Italian food. Anyway I ordered a pizza it arrived looking like an Asda smartprice pizza you could hardly see the cheese and I swear the muchrooms were dried from some little jar. However the pudding was nice I had some choccy mousse thingy and a glass of Rose which was ok too although quite pricey. We wandered around London and found a little Catholic church in Leicester Square that I had been meaning to pop into for ages. I lit a few candles and said some prayers and felt very emotional so emotional in fact didn't I get up and go to mass the next morning and I havent been in ages. Girlies and I got home about midnight knackered but happy.

Sunday morning I rang my father and said I intended going to mass and said do you want to come too he no girl. So I said you should come with me he said girl there are lots of things I should do but I don't so I left it at that. Anway Sunday afternoon I met him for a drink he was on his second pint of guiness when I got there. He is a bit down since his eldest sister has cancer again. What a medical history one side of my family get cancer the other side go bonkers!!

I've eaten loads today but gymmed this evening.

Please god this post is saved.

Take good care my friends and especially you veggie

Michele
