Hello SAHMmies! I see I am not the only one who hasnt been online for a few days

Stevi I am 26 and have 2 dear children, Christian 6 (the one in my avatar) and Haleigh, 5. Currently I am a SAHM/WAHM, although it looks like I'll be hitting the streets hunting a job this week...(DH's hours are being cut at work ) I have been working at this weight loss since last october, although i kind of went on a several month hiatus

My weigh in today was so-so. I am at 195.2 (which is great, but during the week I was down to 193.5!)

Hope you are all doing well, I hate to run but DH needs the pc for a while!

Hey ladies...

Slow thread. Must all be busy. We went camping over the weekend and then I worked on monday and had to take my oldest to the doctor yesterday. It appears she has scoliosis but her curvature isn't large enough to do anything about. Don't know if I should be relieved or worried. Glad that she doesn't need a brace for now. I do have to take her back in 3 months for some follow up x-rays and stuff.

How's the weight loss battle going? I'm working on it. Camping didn't help. I think I gained some but looking at the scale, at least I'm back down to the pre-camping weight again. I went to the gym Mon and Tues night with my sis. We're hoping to go again tonight.

Gonna boogie for now. I have so much stuff to do. Laundry, housework, looking up the cheapest textbooks on line so that I can get that stuff ordered and ready for the school year. Woo hoo....(sarcasm)))

Hi Everyone!

Cara: glad to see you back! I hope you are doing ok

Chris: I had a friend in high school that had scoliosis, but hers was really bad. Plus she was over 100lbs overweight on top of it.

I dont even want to think about school starting, LOL. I took the kids wednesday to get school clothes laid away. Here school starts on August 23, so I only have a month left to get everything
Thursday, I spent the day putting in job applications...hopefully I will hear from someone near the beginning of the week, DH's hours have been cut at work, and we were barely making ends meet when he was getting overtime.
On the brightside, I have about $50 coming in from Avon this week, plus I cashed in some points on the survey sites and will be getting some $10 checks from that. Unfortunately, this was my last avon campaign of getting the guaranteed 50% earnings, so from now on I will probably get only between 20%-30% (based on my sales levels so far) OH well, at least when Christmas rolls around I can get some of my shopping done at a discount

OK, Weigh in time: I am 194.0 this week. Another pound gone! Here's to hoping i can land a waitress job so I can get lots of walking in everyday, LOL...When I worked at sonic last year I lost nearly 15lbs in 2 months from all the walking!

Anywho, I have to get off here, my new kitten is trying to eat my hubby's shoe strings, lol.

Hope you all have a great weekend, I'll check in tomorrow. However I wont be online much during the week since I have to keep the phone lines clear so that *hopefully* some prospective employers can call me

Amanda, school starts here on the 23rd too... I haven't even started shopping. I just cringe thinking about it. Stuff is so expensive anymore and the girls don't have anything left from last year. They have literally outgrown everything and worn the rest out. Tiana's jeans all look like she's expecting a flood.

Not much else happening around here. I've got a headache again this morning. Allergy season here is just the worst for me right now. Plus we have a bunch of wildfires burning in our area and the smoke makes it all just that much worse.

I've thought about selling Avon again but I have 2 aunts selling it and I just don't have many people I could pick on. I'd probably get in trouble with it and be the one spending all the money buying products instead of selling.

I better check my other threads and finish getting ready for the day. I have to run down to my dad's house and take care of his kitties while they're out burning the skin off their bodies fishing. It's supposed to be almost 100 today.

Chris, have you noticed that boys clothes are MUCH cheaper than girls??? Makes me so mad! A pair of jeans for Christian costs about $10 but a pair for Haleigh is closer to $15-$20 even shoes are more expensive for girls I paid $6.97 for Christian's shoes and Haleighs were $14.97 and both were just simple lace up sneakers...Oh well, what can you do? i did get lucky w/ Haleigh because she can still wear most of her jeans from last year, and I got her 2 new pairs off the clearance rack for $9 each, and almost all of their shirts were $5 or less on clearance...

Good luck with the school shopping Oh, It is VERY hard for me to keep my avon spending under control, LOL. I bought a $20 bottle of perfume out of the Mark book last campaign, and thats not all, LOL. (oh, and it did come with a free $10 matching lotion) But I figure that I can get some of my Christmas shopping done w/ Avon... If I start now I could have most of the adults in my family done by Christmas...

anywho, i gotta get off here and feed the kitty...Talk to ya later

Amanda-I know what you mean! It just gets me how expensive girls' clothes are. I've also noticed that their stuff costs just as much as an adult. Now, come on! There is a heck of alot less material there. It should be cheaper. I'm still dreading the school shopping thing but I'll have to mentally get myself there. Hubby gets paid in 2 weeks and then I'll be forced to do it.

I used to buy alot of my christmas gifts from avon. I just love their stuff.

How is everyone doing this week?? So far i'm doing ok. I have been fighting the urge to eat everything in site... With Jason's hours cut, there is no way we can pay everything and have grocery $ left over. I did go for an interview at our local Wendy's today, but i still dont know if I have a job or not, the lady "said" that they would call me in a day or 2, so til then i am in limbo i guess. I really hope they call, I know that being a crewmember at a fastfood joint isnt an ideal career, but right now we just really need to get some money coming in to supplement what Jason is bringing home. I am just so tired of always having to worry about having enough $ to take care of everything. Sorry for the pity party, I'm just really frustrated right now.

Chris: you're right, kids clothes do cost as much as adults. I do as much of my shopping as i can from clearance racks. If i catch Old Navy at a good time I can get shirts for as little as $1-$2 each and jeans from $5, but you practically have to stop by and check for markdowns every couple of days or the deals are gone before you get there.

Anywho, I'm going to get off here and try to get some sleep. Along with the financial b.s. my dog, Bear, died monday...he was 16 years old I've had him since I was in 5th grade... SOOO needless to say I havent slept well in a couple of days.

I'll check in tomorrow, hopefully with a new job, LOL.

Amanda, I think the money woes are making the rounds. We have enough to pay our bills but not enough to cover my hubby's business expenses. Don't know how to get money for that. I was going to pay off some of his bill for his customer's parts when I get my student loans but looks like that's not going to be as much as I thought. Since I switched majors, they gave me financial aid at the freshmen level, instead of the sophomore. So what I get after my tuition and books is alot lower than I thought. I'm trying to get them to reconsider..but that looks almost fruitless.

Hope you hear from Wendy's! I know fast food isn't the best job in the world but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. My sister was in the same situation. Her husband lost his job, then hurt his back on his new one...so he was missing alot of pay. They got a foreclosure notice on their house and were way behind on just about everything so she got a job delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut. She works 4 nights a week and gets $40 a night in tips plus $1 for each pizza she delivers plus her hourly wage. It's helping them out alot.

Things just get more and more expensive and wages just don't change. That stinks! Chin up and love ya. I'm rooting for you....

Chris, thanks for the support sweetie I never heard anything back from wendy's, but I called McD's about my application and the manager asked me to come in for an interview this afternoon. It wasnt an interview at all really, LOL. I went in and she handed me a huge stack of forms to fill out for my employee file... Gotta Love McDonalds hiring process, LOL. Anywho, I start tomorrow at 8am I feel SOOO much better already, just knowing that i'll have some more money coming in. And if I'm lucky, I can pick up a few more Avon customers at work, I have a big sticker on my back window with all my Avon info on it, so they'll have no doubt that i'm an avon lady, LOL

Good luck with your financial aid, I know that dealing with that kind of thing is difficult (they make sure of it, lol)

If any of the rest of you are lurking out there, WE MISS YOU!!! Hope you are taking good care of yourselves.

I'll check in as soon as I have some more free time. I have to get the kids in bed and then get myself in bed. have a great day!

WTG Amanda! Congrats on your new job. Yah, you gotta love McD's and their hiring. That's what happened to my sister and Pizza Hut. She went in and filled out her app. The next day she had an interview which was more like a "we need your driver's license, run a background check, and get your uniform sizes" meeting. I've worked for my dad for so long, I don't even know how to conduct myself in an interview. Oh well. I wish there was a way I could get Avon from you but I have no idea how that would even work. I love that stuff though....

Well I was super bad yesterdsay so today I HAVE to behave. I don't know what's on the agenda for the day. It's supposed to be 102 degrees. OH YUCK!

Hello I finally got a free minute to post. This week I am down to 193.5lbs WOOHOOO!! Working takes up all the time I would normally sit and snack, LOL. although eating mcd's food everyday is NOT good but I'm not eating much at work, and I havent had much of an appetite after work...I have had to force myself to eat some dinner the last couple of nights. I should adjust soon and get back into the flow of things.

Chris: dont beat yourself up over a bad day...We all have them, unfortunately And make sure you stay hydrated during this heat wave!

Everyone else, I hope you are all doing well. I hope tosee you back on here soon!

Well, I have to go wash some dishes and straighten the living room before I crash for the night. I'll check in again asap. Have a great week!

Amanda, You're doing awesome, girlie! I'm trying...maybe not as hard as I could but I'm thinking on some stuff. I did make a small chart for my points journel for the max and min points I will allow myself for meals and snacks. That way I'm not going too low or above what I should. Hopefully that helps by giving me a visual so I don't get "overdrawn" and start "bouncing"...kind of like a checkbook....

How's McD's???? Stay away from the egg mcmuffins..big macs...etc.

Hi ladies! I am new to this tread, but I know Chris from a different one.

I am a SAHM with three little ones. DS 6yo and in first grade this year, DD1 4yo will be doing preschool at home, and DD2 3yo also will be doing some preschool at home. I do work part-time, but only two days a week, and DH is home to watch the kiddies. DH works for UPS, so he has a somewhat weird schedule, and that is sometimes stressfull. But all in all things go smoothly.

We have both been trying to lose weight, and this year have joined a gym. We bith really like it and the child center is great with the kids.

CHris-sorry it took me so long, I got into a lurking phase, and wasn't posting too much at all. Great to see you again!!!

Ellen...you lurker! How's it going sunshine? Not bad here. Trying to get things more organized around here so that the school year will run smoother. Wouldn't that be nice?

I'm making slowe progress with this weight loss stuff but I am firmly set on 204 and haven't gone up at all in 4 days. Not even a 1/2 lb so I'm happier about taht.

Well gotta go. Things to do and not much time for any of it. Check back in a bit.
