  • I typed out a big long post and it disappeared. Dang!

Cindy-Very sorry to hear about your father. If you need anything, I'm sure we'll all help any way we can.

Yah, we had a good 4th. I would repeat it all but my fingers are tired. Maybe later when I have some energy.

I had lost 1.5 lbs last week and am up 1 lb. this week. I'm okay with that because it is my fault. I ate fast food 2 times last week and I didn't get enough exercise in. I know what needs to be done and I know I can do it, because i have before, I just need to quit with the self-sabotage and get 'er done.

    Chris
  • Chris - you can do it!! My posts keep disappearing also!!! Kepp it up - you know we are here for you.

Cindy - We are here for you. I understand, I am relieved that my Grandma isn't suffering anymore, eventhough I miss her. Your family is in my prayers.

Amanda - BACK!!!!! We've missed ya! Hope ya stay awhile!

me - blech! Up two pounds but will attribute that to having totally weaned my son. It's been a week and hormones are raging. I am still exercising & eating better. I took two days off from everything when I hit rock bottom but I am better now! Today is a new day.

    take care sahmmies.

  • The case of the disappearing posts. ...

How aggrevating???? Well we took the kids to the lake this afternoon to swim a bit and I just got home and am trying to figure out what to do for dinner. I'm thinking we may just have to eat breakfast for dinner because I don't feel like cooking and this mamma hasn't gotten to the store. I'll make some hashbrowns, pancakes, and eggs, and some turkey bacon for me and kelly. I'll probably only eat the eggs and turkey bacon and a little hashbrowns. I'm not a pancake fan, but the kids are.

Blasted little puppy! He just killed a roll of paper towels. Kelly saw him in a pet store and had to bring him home. No one bought him and he'd been in there for almost 4 months. We've had him for 3 weeks and now he has finally decided to be a terror. He's a miniature dachsund so he won't be much bigger than he is. His parents were only 11 lbs. He's about 5 in. shorter than our cats....LOL!

    Chris
  • Good moring! I went over my calorie limit again yesterday. I am SO angry with myself. I also didnt exercise yesterday, but that's because my sunburn hurt so bad that I couldnt bear the thought of strapping on a sports bra (or any other kind) Still hurts today, but bra or not I'm going to get some kind of exercise in So far I have eaten 300 cals this morning. I havent decided what lunch will be yet, but dinner is going to be hamburger helper and a salad. I also have a delicious juicy watermelon calling me from the fridge so that is what I'll have for snack today.

Chris, dont you just love puppies, LOL. My moms dachsund will chew anything, LOL. She's a doll, though.

Anywho, I have to get off here and get some laundry going before I try to do tae bo...which should be interesting, I havent done tae bo in over 2 months, LOL.

    have a great day!
  • Well our lovely little dachshund is getting an emergency trip to the vet. We thought he was feeling better but when I got home from work...(all I can say is YUCK!). Anyhow, he has major diarrhea and vomiting so he needs to go right away since he is a small breed puppy. They think he's going to get dehydrated. So here comes the vet bills....

I don't know what to do for the little guy. He curls his back up and walks like his tummy hurts and he lays down with his legs all drawn up to his belly and scrunched up on his side. So I guess I won't be going to exercise tonight because he'll be scared to death and I'll have to help get him to the vet.

    Chris
  • Chris, I'm sorry your puppy is sick. I hope it isnt anything serious...(he/she may just have worms...that can make them feel horrible) Hope it feels better soon.

I have gotten in 115minutes of exercise this week (YAY) a few minutes short of my weekly goal, but I'm still happy. Next week I am going to incorporate my tae bo boot camp back into my routine (probably only once per week for now, lol) and I am going to ad some strength exercises as well. TOM should be going away in a day or 2, so I should feel much better next week, and have an easier time staying away from those sweets, lol.

Hate to run but I've gotta go make sure the dog hasn't dumped out his watern again. Good luck on tomorrow's weigh in everyone!
  • Well mr. puppy dog came home today. They kept him overnight and gave him some meds to calm his tummy down. He has antibiotics he has to take because he got loaded with bacteria from the wonderful catbox episode. Was an expensive little visit since it was an after hours emergency. $326. OUCH!

Anyhow, so I didn't get any exercise in. I did stay in my points range though, so that was good. Even had enough left for a small cone at DQ. Just have to stick with this. I jumped on the scale this morning out of morbid curiosity and I am back to having the original 1.5 lb loss from last week. I feel better about that.

    Chris
  • Good evening ladies! I am still out of town and staying with my Mom, but I thought I'd check in anyway. I haven't gotten any exercise (it's 100 degrees here on a daily basis!) and I've not eaten that well, but I'll get back to it once I get home next week.

Chris: Sorry to hear about your puppy! But I'm glad he'll be okay. As far as litterboxes, I can't give you advice for such a small puppy. Usually it's a good idea to put a baby gate in the doorway to the room where the litterboxes are located, and raise it a little off the ground so the cats can crawl under but the dog can't. Obviously in your case that wouldn't work! But if your cats can climb over a baby gate, and your dog can't, maybe it would work anyway, without raising it. Covered boxes don't work; cats hate them and dogs get inside anyway. I used to have a Whippet that would stick his head inside and get stuck, then freak out and pull the top off and run away with the top around his neck!

Hi Amanda & Carafre! Glad to see you're still here and doing well (except Amanda's sunburn). Congrats on weaning, Carafre, I guess. I never bf'd so I have no idea how it works or what it's like. I stopped giving the Sir a bottle at 6 months and never looked back. Hope it's working out for you both!

    Talk to you ladies later!

    Cindy B.
  • Good Morning Ladies!
Chris, glad your pup will be ok. I dont know how to keep him away from the litterbox. My MIL is having the same problem w/ her pup, lol. If she figures anything out, I'll let you know.

Cindy, 100 degrees! Yuck, lol. We've been pretty lucky here this week. It has been in the mid to upper 80's and the humidity has been low, so it's been really nice.

Well, I am happy with my weigh in. I was 197.6 at the beginning of the week and I am now 196.6...WOOOHOOOO! One pound gone!

I hate to run but I've got to get Jason and the kids up so we can go hit some yard sales this morning. Have a great day!
  • Just a quick post to celebrate a small victory. I got up early and walked the neighborhood for about 20-30 minutes! It's so hot here that I can't walk during the day, so I wanted to get up early. But my son's portable crib is in the room where I sleep so it's hard to get up and dressed and not wake him, but I did it. Then I got outside and it started raining but I walked anyway!

Hopefully that will set the tone for the day and I'll make healthy eating choices.

Hope you all have a good day! Let me know what your weigh-ins are!

  • I got my litterboxes stuffed in my laundry room..Thank God its a big room.

You all would be so proud of me too. Last night I went to the track and walked around it 12 times. I'm not sure what the distance would really be but it felt good, with the exception of waking up this morning. My hips were killing me and I had to stumble around like a little old lady for a bit.

Well back to the housework. I have a killer headache and my sinuses are all stuffed. Gotta love allergy season. Gonna have to get my laptop in to get repaired soon too. I didn't use it for awhile and now it won't start back up. Well its starts but I have a black screen with an occasional flicker on the top. Its done it before so we'll see what happens. It's still under warranty and I have a 2 yr service contract.

  • Hi! I was looking for a SAHM thread. I think I found one. You gals mind if I hang out with ya? Everyone on the same plan or does it vary? I'm a very recent SAHM and very excited about it. Just quit my job offically 2 weeks ago. I have a 14 years old and the lil bug in my avatar is 4 months.
  • Hi Stevi, what a cutie-pie you have! Welcome to Slimmin' Sahmmies! And to 3FC, if you're new to it.

No, we're not all on the same plan. Speaking for myself I'm not currently on a plan, just trying to eat better and get rid of old bad habits. I've also recently gotten back into exercise after a few-month hiatus (although I'm currently out of town and not able to get on my treadmill.... excuses, excuses, right? :-)

I've got a little boy who is almost 2 and have been a SAHM since he was born. He's recently changed to one nap a day instead of two, and that is curtailing my exercise a little bit, but I'm happy to work around his schedule.

What sort of plan are you on? What exercise do you do most often? Most of us here weigh on Saturdays, but we're happy to hear your progress report no matter when you weigh. Good luck with your goals and hope to hear back from you soon!

    Cindy B.
  • Stevi- YOU DO HAVE A Cute LITTLE MAN THERE! Watch out, he's going to break some hearts when he gets older. Now myself, I have 3 daughters. Anyhow, Welcome to the group.

As far as plans go, I'm doing Weight Watchers at home. All this is such a struggle for me. I think maybe I make it harder than it needs to be on me. Who knows!

Gotta go, hubby is home for dinner. Check back later.

  • Thank you for the warm welcomes!
I have been on my journey since April, 24th. My total loss is 37lbs so far. Unfortunately I have stalled. I've been counting calories, fat and carbs. However, when I had lost enough to exercise comfortably (its been about a month) I increased my intake. I hoping my stall is inches lost but we will see. I Power-walk mostly but have recently been able to jog. My current PW distance is 3.3 miles in 50 minutes. I do a belly, butt, and thighs dvd 4x a week as well.
Thank you for the compliments on Logan. He is cute as a bugs ear!
