Thanks for the welcome Susan and Marie.

In my mid-twenties to mid-thirties, I was fit and made it a point to exercise all the time. I never diet because I didn't have to. My husband and I were blessed with a son in my late thirties. I stopped exercising and caring for myself and concentrated my efforts on our little guy. I thought the weight I gained when I was pregnant would come off, it never did. I finally went on a diet last year and lost 20 pounds. It was great! Unfortunately, I gained it back and then some. I learned that when you're in your forties, it's not so easy to keep it off. Worse yet, this year, when I got my blood results back, I learned that I was borderline high cholestrol. So here I am. I'm doing it again but this time with support and exercise. My husband is very supportive of this. We usually work out together and my son joins us about three times a week. It's so motivating. I started to document everything I eat and count calories. I only want to loose between 1 to 2 pds a week. Just started two weeks ago. I'm on my third week and weigh in on Mondays.

Enough about me. I'll look forward to going through this adventure with all of you.

Always believe,
Sandra

And another calorie counter! I love calorie counting. Have I mentioned that lately?

Okay, Susan, you're nuts. You love calorie counting. My favorite diet is the see food diet. I see it and I eat it.

Sandra, congrats on the baby in the late thirties. That's pretty cool. I'm going to be a first time grandma anyday. Today is the due date for DS and his GF. I am very excited. While they finish school, they are living with us so I get to play with a baby for a while. Should be awesome.

Well, time to exercise. TTYL.

Hi All

Welcome Sandra -Could we be neighbor's? I live in near the DuPage River well not that close (<1 mile) but its a good point of referance. On the Bbrook side.

Marie - I am so excited for you. Please post as soon as you can on the baby watch.

Wow I wish I could have boarderline labs. My last lab was 360. (thats down) I have been on lipitor for well over a year. I am hoping to get down to 300 this year.

Well today was my b-day 46. I gave myself a break and had some anglefood cake with strawberrys. What a yummy treat. Had orange chicken and rice for dinner. Not the best choice but thats ok one in a while. I didnt over eat. Just had some of my favorites as a treat. I know Ill be crying on Monday when I dont loose anything. My hubby got the pedometer I have been wanting. I want to try this program called 10,000 steps a day to better health. The just of the program is taking 10,000 steps every day and you are considered to have and active life style and able to lose weight easier.

Did anyone read any of the anouncements that McDonalds made today? Since McDonalds and all fast food places have to list the nutritional value of food, McDonald anounced that they underestimated the transfatty in there food by approximatly 33%. That pretty scary when you look at the values to begin with and then add 33%.

All the kids have checked in today, thats been nice. All safe and sound.

Hope you all have a safe evening.
Karla

Karla, happy birthday a day late. I bet 1960 was a great year - I believe I was conceived then. In other words I'm a 1961 baby.

I go up early today and did my walking. I'm just cruising on this WATP video. I don't like to exercise in the morning but DS's GF doesn't have classes on Fridays and I tend to mis exercising since we are usually gabbing. Last week I made her sit and chat while I exercised but she said it made her feel guilty. 9 months preggers is a good enough reason to not exercise in my humble opinion.

I'm at work and have lots of fun stuff planned. Yeah, actually I wasn't joking. I'm our school district's webmaster and I'm going to redesign the front page. That will be fun. So it's Friday and work will be good. Not bad at all.

TTYL.

Hi All
Fast hi, 1960 was a great year. Its strange, when I was younge I always thought someone in there 40's was so old. I dont feel old. I dont feel like I did in my 20's, thank god, but I dont feel that old. I feel more mature or something, when people meet my kids they cant believe that I have a kid that will be 29. (What happened to that cute little thing I brought home from the hospital) 29 is about how old I feel. Yes I am on another one of my wild statement things.

Marie I think if you can move of your own free will when you are 9 months pregnant thats concidered exercize. For getting eating under control start off with getting your water intake up to about 80 oz a day and it helps alot. I think it helps to cleanse your body and prepares your body for weight loose.

Welcome back Betty K

Hope you all have a good evening.

Peri-menopausal women of the world unite! Who else has been awake since 3:46? OI!

I personally think a perimenopausal woman invented the internet and cable TV. She needed something to do while all the rest of the world was sleeping.

Hi everyone, It's weekend!!! Yeah. Today DH and I took our 3 doggies to the vet for their annual checkup and vaccines. There went another $300 bucks. Oh well, I love the dogs. It is quite a circus bringing 3 dogs in at once, but I get a 10% discount for the multiple pets. So we do it once a year.

My cold is getting worse, but since it's weekend, I get to rest and recover. That sounds good.

Hots, I think eating is good but I suck at being good. So I know what you mean.

I'm going to knit today, but I think I'm going to take a nap first. I hate having colds.

Well, chat with you later.

I can't believe how many of us are the same age!
Who said something about the "see food diet"? So far today I've seen donuts and pizza!
