I think berries are a vastly overlooked food. They're yummy and sweet and not very calorific. Thanks Buddha!

Hey Karla! A pound is great!

Morning everyone. Just a quick hi. Susan, I love berries. I made the best strawberry smoothie yesterday for a snack. The berries are frozen from my garden. It was to die for. Yummy!!!!!

I'm at work today so I better get back at it. Talk to you later.

We had supper out tonight since we had to be in town for 6:30. I was careful today because I wanted ice cream! I actually left food on my plate. The numbers turned out good. I still have a calorie defict (a small one) but I didn't over do it.
Now, I have to go to bed because I'd really like a snack

Hi eveyone. I hope it's ok if I join in here even though I won't be 40 until May. I hope to be "fit & fabulous" by that time, if I can just stick with it. I tend to lose weight in a weird way, 3-5 lbs in a week and then little or nothing at all for 2 -3 weeks so I get discouraged during those times. I've lost 12 lbs just in the past 6 weeks though so I am on track, it's just all pyschological.

12 pounds in 6 weeks is two pounds a week ... fabulous work!
And of course you're welcome!

I actually turned on Alex Trebek and did 25 minutes of upper body weights today! Whew, I've been a slacker!

Hi All
Just a fast midweek check-in. Food is pretty good. Water is great. Exercize still struggling. My hubby is becoming my motivator in the exercize department. ( he is tired of listening to me wine) In fact he is getting down right pushy. But that's ok. I need that in this area, he realy holds me to task.

Welcome Carol. Look forward to getting to know you. Congrads on the 12 pounds.

I had to break down and buy some berries, had a strawberry smoothy one day and a raspberry smoothy another day for breakfast. I put my tablespoon of yogurt and my exta fiber in it 1 cup of berries and ice & a sprinkle of splenda. It was a yummy treat in the morning. Thanks for the great idea buddha belly. The pumpkin is very interesting. I think I may need to exsplore that further. I was thinking about trying to make a low fat / low cal eggnog. Anyone have any idea's how to tone down the sugar & fat in eggnog?
Well off the exercize
Karla

Karla, I did the pumpkin smoothies because he suggests you have 1/2 cup 5 - 7 days a week, and I didn't want to go the pie route and couldn't think of anything else. Alternatives to pumpkin are: carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and organge bell peppers. The smoothies were easier for me cause I could have those for dinner and not have to cook, less time consuming than planning an actual meal, lol.

Welcome, Mrs Moby - is that Moby like Dick or like the singer, lol.

Good going on your weight routine Susan.

I did pretty well today (except for that breakfast burrito, lol). Did 75 minutes at the gym, cause I had trouble getting to stay on a machine for my whole time.

Thanks for the encouragement SusanB and kjkas10.

buddha belly - that's Moby as in Dick, LOL - my hubby's nick name growing up. There's so many people that he's known for years that still don't know his real name, :-)

Well, I'm having a crummy day. I woke up around 1:00 am with a terrible sore throat and the sniffles. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. So no excercise today, and I really hate it when my plans get side-tracked like this. I'm popping vitamin c like crazy in hopes of cutting this cold short. I think I'll go brew a pot of tea and curl up and watch a movie and try to get out of my grump.

Hope everyone else is having a good day!

Welcome Carol! Hope you feel better soon. WTG on your weight lost. Your average of 2 pounds a week is fab!!

Karla, happy to hear your hubby is your motivator. Since my husband and I started working out, it's really helped me stay focused (at least on the exercise part).

Buddha Belly I don't know how you can do "75" minutes of exercise. I'm lucky if do "60" minutes.

Haven't been around due to a product launch. Very hectic. Unfortunately, this week has been bad with the food. Last week I did manage to loose a pound. We'll see what happens on Monday.

Take care Ladies,
Sandra

Ya know my rant from the other day? Well, my registration is in progress (wrapped up tightly in the red tape portion of progress no doubt) and I had great hopes that it would be resolved so that I could work this weekend ... however ... I've got about an hour. If my notification on the website does not change in the next little bit, I'm SOL for the weekend. Again!

I hate to think I'm so easily influenced but this has really taken the wind out of my sails today. I don't even want to go and do the errands I was gonna run this afternoon.
For a few days there, it was kinda like a holiday. I could do whatever I wanted! But now I'm starting to feel oppressed, trod on.

I've been awake since waaaay too early this morning. But I really feel that if I can make a plan for today and stick to it ... I'll be less inclined to wallow in self pity.
Just shortly, I'm gonna get cleaned up ... run some errands ... grocery shop ... finish our taxes ... eat clean (1400 cals or less) ... do some cardio and do some weights. I seriously need to remember that I do have control over a few things and I need to stop wallowing in despair over the things I cannot control ... Like the College of Nurses

Good to hear from you again, Sandra. Don't be such a stranger.

Well it sounds like you will have a productive day, Susan. Looks like things should be back to normal for you real soon, with the licensure and all.

Again, I have been doing pretty well with the gym, but the food does not come as easy. Haven't been really bad, but I wish I could stick with the healthy foods a bit better. I am feeling a bit thinner anyway. This morning when I stretched in front of the mirror my buddha belly looked almost normal. Now if only I could walk around all day, all stretched, lol.

Have a good weekend.

Thanks Buddha! I can just see you stretching like those ladies on the Dove soap commercials
I started just putting one foot infront of the other this morning and it's comin' along good. I got all that done and cleaned out the chicken house.
I feel definitely sturdier than I did last night!
Now if I could just figure out how to skip the simpering idiot phase altogether and get right to the strong capable woman thing without a hitch ....

Morning all, just a quick note to say hello. I'm having the same problem as you buddhabelly, the exercise is coming easy but sticking with eating healthy is a problem. I haven't figured out how to resolve it other than keep trying.

Susan, I hope you get your licensure issue resolved soon. What a pain that must be. Good luck.

Good Monday morning!

My licence thing has been at 'wait and see' all weekend. I'm pretty optimistic about a new week tho'. I'm enjoying being at home but I'm missing my paycheque!

MMarie? Can we help with the food thing?

How did everyone do over the weekend? Come and post your victories!
