I just got back from taking Christian to the dr. I have to take him to have an MRI done on his brain next tuesday, and then I have to take him to a pediatric neurologist wednesday... She said they wanted to rule out "temporal lobe seizures"...And most shocking, the dr revealed that the school social worker thinks that my mother in law has mentally abused Christian!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost fell out of the chair...Dont get me wrong, I cant stand the woman, but i KNOW that she has never done anything to Christian. I guess this means i had better make sure my house is spotless, just in case they decide to start an investigation......I really dont need all this right now....I just pray that the MRI shows a normal 6year old's brain..........

Cynthia- You think you blew it, LOL. I ate 5 slices of pizza w/ pepperoni and extra cheese yesterday(not all at once, lol)...w/ regular full calorie soda...YIKES!
I'm not off to a good start today either, I had a hamburger kids meal from mcd's for lunch w/ fries and a coke...didnt have breakfast, as i didnt have time to eat before I had to run out the door to take Christian to the dr. tomorrow will be better...I promise, lol.

Carafre: If you're at the hotel and have found a computer to use, then hello! Hope you're doing well, we miss you already! I don't think anyone has come up with a challenge yet, so we'll all be ready for yours next week.
Alisha: Good for you for cleaning the house. Isn't that a great feeling when it's all done? And you do get great exercise. Believe it or not, that's one thing I really miss while living in this hotel. I love cleaning! (Thankfully, since I have so many cats and now a toddler!)
Amanda: That's just amazing about the social worker. Where in the world did she get such an idea? Are you going to tell your mother-in-law about it? How horrible, this is really getting out of hand. Please be strong and pm or email me if you need a shoulder to lean on. And don't worry about the pizza and hamburger. That happens sometimes and it will always happen once in awhile. The important thing is you're not eating that way all the time and can bounce right back to eating healthy stuff.

I will be going home to Tennessee tomorrow morning. Just me, leaving my hubby and the Sir to spend the weekend together. So I will be without computer access until Sunday evening. I hope you all have a great weekend. We've got some people that have looked at our house 3 times, and are coming back one more time this weekend and then they will make a decision. And I've asked this before, but I'm asking one more time: Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, murmur an incantation, whatever it is you do... I would really appreciate the help!

I dont know whether to tell my MIL about what the counselor suspects. She has some pretty severe depression issues, and I don't know what that kind of news would do to her... I'll leave it up to my hubby. All this just makes me so mad...Why dont they go investigate all the meth addicts who are neglecting/abusing their kids (and there is LOTS of that going on in this area right now). Hopefully we will find something that is causing Christian's behavior at school, SOON, before i have to deal w/ the idiots at CPS. I cant stand how these people seem to always find a way to blame a childs every problem on the parents/grandparents etc.. Ok...that's enough of that, I can feel my blood pressure rising, lol.
I managed to keep the 1lb loss up this week, despite my disasterous eating over the last few days. I will definitely be more careful about what goes in my mouth this week. Hopefully I can get all this crap at school straightened out soon so that life can go back to normal.

Hello everyone! I was a member of a really great group here, but we seem to have all vanished all of a sudden. No one checks in there but me these days I am a SAHM with 2 children: Tyler will be 2 day after Christmas, and Allie is 3.5. I really need the support and you guys seem like a very warm group, so I am hoping I can be adopted I love challenges and I am an excellent cheerleader, so hopefully you have room for one more.

After staying the same for the last 3 weeks, I'm up a pound this week. I'm not upset because I've really been eating badly and have gotten virtually no intentional exercise. Hubby and I took our son to the mall today and we walked around a lot. Also went to IKEA. So we both got our exercise today and then some.

Welcome to Slimmin' Sahmmies, Theresa! Yes, there's plenty of room here, and we can use all the cheerleaders we can get. What sort of eating plan are you following? And what sort of exercise do you do? I'm not following any plan currently. As far as exercise, I usually do the treadmill and walk my son in his stroller (he's about 15 months old), and I have a Bowflex. We've been trying to have a weekly challenge on this thread but we didn't come up with anything this week. I think the problem is we all have good ideas but no one wants to speak up and start the next challenge! But we're a great group here and you'll like us. Good luck with your goals!

Amanda: Congrats to you, too, on your one pound loss! That's awesome especially with everything you're going through right now. I agree about the social workers needing to figure out their priorities. Don't get me wrong, I think there's a time and place for social workers and psychologists, etc. But sometimes I wonder if they look for "problems" just to justify their own existence, especially in the schools. Everything w/ Christian just keeps getting worse, and I have to try and figure out how I am supposed to fix it all....Fortunately, losing weight should not be a problem as my nerves have me so sick that eating is near impossible....

I have 2 little girls with Tuberous Sclerosis. Jana my 2 year old is developmentally delayed and has uncontrolled seizures. Jamie seems to be developing just fine.
I seem to be stuck at my current weight, I hope that this forum will help me move passed it.

Hello, hope everyone is having a good eating and exercising day. I have eaten very well all day, but no exercise. Hubby's out of town until tomorrow, so I think I'll take the little guy shopping and we'll probably eat out. But I promise to try and make good food choices!
Julie: Welcome to 3FC! I think you'll really like it here, there is so much information all over this website. Getting stuck at a certain weight is no fun, is it? But keep at it and it will definitely come off. What sort of eating plan are you doing? And exercise? I think many of us here are challenged to fit in exercise when we have the little ones running around at home. Mine is still young enough to nap twice a day, but I have a feeling that won't last long! Good luck with your weight loss goals and please check in to our thread often!

I exercise about 3 times a week 20-40 mintues. It's a start, I used to do 60 minutes 6 times a week, but got out of the habit when life hit a stressful spot.
Diet is not on a specific plan. Try to cut out white flour and sugars. Cook with brown rice and whole grain pasta. Eat lean foods as much as I can, without starving myself, or going hungry. I'm basically trying to adapt my eating so that it's a lifestyle change, and not a diet. I've tried enough diets that I'm pretty sure I understand how to eat healthy, I just have to do it.
I'm trying to give up soda and that's hard, I love love love Diet Dr. Pepper. If I give up soda I eventually start to love water, and I need to get myself back to that point.

Hi Julie! That sounds like a great eating plan. That's what I've been trying, too. More veggies, less meat, less bread. I've been making a lot of brown rice, too. Have you tried cooking it in chicken stock? That adds a lot of flavor. I also like to add a few toasted slivered almonds for taste and protein. I've also cut way down on junk like chocolate and chips. For awhile there, I wasn't eating any of that stuff and was losing pretty regularly, but lately I've been slipping and the weight isn't coming off. And you're right about switching from soda to water. I'm to the point now where I don't want to drink anything except water.
