This is fun! I've been at this for a while, so for my challenge I'm going step out of my comfort zone, try some new things, and BE BOLD! Today I did more upper arm stuff---went for 30 minutes instead of my usual 20 minutes. It's a start!

Lightbulb Yo!

Hear ye, hear ye ... eeeny, meenie, chile beanie, the spirits are about to speak, er, ANNOUNCEMENT:

The esoteric and unnamed officials of this contest have notified Amarantha that the requirement of checking in twice a week in order to be eligible for the fab nonvirtual prize that will be mailed to the first person completing 21 consecutive days of their challenge be a tad taxing on the challengers. So everyone will be eligible for the prize (except Amarantha) who posts at all!!! Huzzah! That is all! Now a word from our sponsor ...

I'm still alive but have been away from my computer , busy visiting with my son and daughter inlaw. Its so nice to have them home and spend some time together. Yesterday wasn't totally awful I was smart enough to weigh in before going to the airport and reached my little goal I had set for myself. Thank God for small favors. But of course I wasn't perfect by any means for the day. Billy loves chicken wings and in Seattle they don't make them like here in New York so they are always his favorite when he comes home. So of course we ordered pizza and wings for dinner last night.

2 coffee's, scrambled eggs with broc, onions, 1 slice sour dough toast
salad, with romaine, cheese, ham , few croutons, onion, vinegar, olive oil
1 large piece of pizza, 5 fried chicken wings with lots of hot sauce
1 brownie
24oz. water, 16 oz. favored water
Today's another day I guess it could of been worse????????????
Gotta go to work now and I will try to encourage myself to be better today! Or at least attempt to be!
Skyfirefly Big weekend out of town coming up , seafood, grilled ribs ohhhhh , sooo , good!

Default Day 1 (sigh)

Y'know, this is a bit predictable. All I wanted was a couple of days to myself to regroup and pay some attention to me for once. DH had me frantically helping him get ready for a trip. He left, and grandson arrived for an overnighter. My mother guilted me into going to help her trivia team, then a party for my brother the next day. And then a non-stop heavy duty work week. Prediction: Good intentions will crash and burn when I realize I can just let it go. Yup. And then felt, also predictably, worse. In a cruddy mood. Nevertheless, I'm going to try again. I'll come back to say how I did.

Default Hopping on the wagon

First off congratulations to all of the people in this challenge- it looks like many of you have already had significant successes!

I have been half-heartedly playing around at making some changes but it seems like I only stay with it as long as it is convenient for me to do so. I would like to join your challenge by committing to keeping a food journal- I have never maintained this for longer than a week at a time- it seems I eat something I don't want to put down on paper and that's the end of that. If I can't be honest with myself and be accountable than I see myself stuck at the starting line of weight loss. This 21 day challenge seems like a good place to start.

Anyway wishing all the participants a great day
Thanks
Jen

Talking Day 5 - It's my birthday!!!

Whoa. I'm on Day 5 on my birthday!! 5 is my lucky number - I was born on the 25th day of the 5th month in the year 75. As you can see, if you take the two numbers of 5/25/75 which are NOT fives and subtract one from the other: 7-2=5. All right it's a stretch, but FIVE'S MY LUCKY NUMBER ANYWAY. OK????

Welcome, Nova Jen! Wow, Amarantha/Arabella. You two have started something good here! We've got a wonderful number of ladies who want to improve their lives in 21-day increments. Huzzah!!

I poked around online and discovered that I'm eating way more than 5 servings per day of fruits and veggies the way that most people measure portion sizes. Sigh - trust me to overdo the portion sizes, but this time it's a good thing. I'm going to pretend I never read about portion sizes and continue to eat enormous bowls of salad, etc. I ain't cutting down!

Nova Jen, I hear you loud and clear about only making lasting change if it immediately suits me. Self-discipline is not one of my strong points, though I wish it were. How does one acquire it, I wonder?

To the rest of you, you're doing beautifully!! I'm so glad that you're here and I'm here and ... everything.

Love to all!!

Unhappy Day 1 (again)

Hello Fellow 21 Day Challengers,

I did well Day 1, Day 2, & Day 3, but Day 4 turned out to be a challenge and those Frozen Thin Mint Cookies, DH was eating called my name so I am back where I started. Of course starting this PMS/Munchie week was probably not my brightest idea .

So as of today Day 1: NO MORE AFTER DINNER SNACKING!!!!

Happy B-day Cerise

Amarantha - I see nothing wrong with making people check in at least once a week on the challenge. But then, if I don't check in I don't stick with it.

Wildfire - Yup that's me.

Have a great day everyone.

First, Happy B'day Cerise and Eydie!!!

Cerise, I also find it amazing how small an official vege serving really is, seems like there's no excuse for me not to have them!

Congratulations on restarting, TechAlum! I think that's the hardest part of the 21-day challenge! It really takes some doing to get it going, but after a week or so, it'll be easy ...

AT LEAST I HOPE SO, BECAUSE I'M ALREADY DEAD IN THE WATER HERE!!!

Tomorrow is Day 1, AGAIN!

I don't wanna talk about it!

I'm not giving up!!!!
