Hi ladies, this is my post to the buddy up forum. It's pretty much my little introduction, think I should have posted it here instead. Hope it's okay that I copied and pasted it :^: I'd like to join the race!
__________________________________________________ ______________

Hey everyone, I'm new here but certainly not new to "the battle". I'm hoping that this forum can help me get motivated and stay motivated. I have a mission to drop 80lbs. before my hubby returns home from his deployment (are there any other military wives here?). He'll be in Iraq for approximately 15 looong months. I'm a tough girl, but I can use all the support I can get.

Does anyone workout at home with videos? I have a ton of videos (well maybe not a ton) but no real workout schedule yet. I do have a gym membership, but....umm..well I haven't exactly made good use of it. I guess I'm just a little too self conscious to go right now, even though its women only. I thought I'd find the atmosphere non-intimidating....but mentally I'm not there yet. Anywho, I'd really like to be part of a buddy system to get on track. Some of the programs I own are: The Firm BSS2, Yoga Booty Ballet (don't laugh ), the NYC Ballet workout vol.2, quite a few belly dance videos (I've fallen in love with the dance), some kickboxing videos-ok I think you get the idea I'm open to other workout vids as well, I bore easily, so I really do need the variety. Anyway, just let me know.
Thanks
bejeweled*

Welcome to the race Bejeweled*. This is a great place for support and rambling. I have the WATP (Walk Away the Pounds) tape and really like it altho I don't do it often enough. It is not real exciting but a good way to at least get moving.

Annie

Hey Annie! Thanks so much for the welcome :) And congrats on your progress so far!! :goodvibes Keep Going! I used to have WATP, the very first set, and it was a great way for me to get started too, but I eventually gave it away to my mom. I get bored easily with workouts, which is why I have so many different videos(I'm 100% sure that I'll be purchasing more :o ). I guess it really is the spice of life for me :D Do you have any other workout videos?

Hope everyone had a great day.

Hello Everyone,
I've been struggling with not getting here so I decided that I will try to post in the mornings so that I can start the day off right.

I'm still dealing with the car issues. It will be what it is..that's what I keep telling myself.

I am wondering how many of you struggle with overeating in private. I know that when I binge I don't do it when anyone else is around. I had a little episode of that yesterday. I stopped before I did real damage but I still felt bad about myself afterwards.

Suzy: Congrats on the loss. Isn't it nice to be rewarded for all your hard work? and let's not kid ourselfs, this is work..it won't happen unless we make it happen.

Hello to everyone else. The office is filling up fast so I better get to work.
Have a great day everyone! I know I won't binge today; I brought my lunch so that I can't go home and eat in private!

suzy1965 08-17-2005 08:58 AM

Good Morning Ladies,
I lost 4 pounds this week. I am thrilled. It's funny but I don't feel like I deserve it because I wasn't "perfect" this week. I'll still take it though. It was fun to change my ladybug and see her move a little. I do feel encouraged to do better and stay the course.

Susie- I do most of my overeating/binging in private. I never, ever want anyone to see what or how much I can eat. My DH has even said that he doesn't know why I can't lose weight because he doesn't see me eating that much. If he only knew. I believe that is one my "outs" that needs to be addressed. No eating in private. Sounds like a good goal.

Debbie- We all have those so,so kind of days and when we do the best we can do is hang in there. You did just that. Today will be great. You can do it.

Holly- Water is the miracle cure! I drank a ton yesterday too. Good luck with WI. Tommy Lee was a riot!

I am encouraged to have a great day today and I send all of my positive vibes for today along to all of you. Have a great day everyone.
Sue

Good morning lovely ladies :flow2: Thank you all so much for the warm welcome, you guys are awesome! I think you all are just what I need to help me reach my goals. There is so much positivity and love here that it kinda tugs at my heart strings. Don't pay any mind to my being so emotional, I've just been through a lot with life and my weight and all without much support, so this is such a breath of fresh air for me. I'm thankful for this support group (I think I'm also a little hormonal LOL).

Susie, I totally understand where you're coming from, I too have a struggle with overeating in private. I've had this problem for years, it can be hard to over come, but I do believe it's possible....I know it's possible. Maybe you could try (if you haven't already) taking up a hobby that could take up some of that time that you spend alone. Something that doesn't take much of a financial investment, you know, like maybe reading, knitting, crochet, keeping a journal or even just having fun giving yourself a manicure or pedicure. I need to take my own advice, but unfortunately I'm quite stubborn  Please don't feel bad about you, YOU are beautiful, special, unique and precious. :queen:

Holly, that's a good idea. Now if I could just sit down and really write out some type of rotation for the many videos that I have  It's hard for me to be consistant with workouts too- motivation, time, energy....you know, the usual suspects. But I have a new opportunity now that all 3 of my children are in school. My baby started kindergarten this year, so I have no excuses now! :drill:

Congratulations on your 4 pound loss, Suzy!! Awesome!

GirlieKitty 08-17-2005 08:13 PM

Hi everyone! I just found this thread thanks to bejeweled! So i'll do my little intro here.
I've been overweight all my life. I have a major problem with binge eating!!! I love/hate food, dont we all!! ;)
I got under 200 pounds over a year ago, and i loved it. I'm hoping to be there again sometime soon. It would be really nice if i were there before x-mas. so i guess that will be another mini-goal for me!
I'm so glad i found this forum. everyone is so encouraging. and it's so nice to know that other people have similar issues.

Take care,
Kitty :dizzy:

ChatterKitty 08-17-2005 09:25 PM

Hi everyone
I'm new to this, but not new to the weight loss struggle. I've been overweight all my life and am currently in my second week of WW. I'm discouraged because in my first week I only had a .6 pound loss (point six).

I'm committed to doing this and making it work. I hope all of you can inspire me!

annie175 08-18-2005 09:07 AM

Welcome to the Race Girlie Kitty and Chatter Kitty. Two kitties in one day, shu wee!! You will love it here and the support is awesome!

Hello to everyone, still doing great with WW. Still also need to start moving in some way. I have great ideas, but don't do them.

Going to be very busy at work! Yikes. My brother just called and invited me to dinner at his house. Baked Cod and veggies, so on the program.

Have an excellent OP, on track day!

(((Hugs))) Annie

Hi Annie
I noticed GirlieKitty's post right before mine and was laughing about that. Maybe we need to find one more kitty and we can all be 3FatKitties! LOL!

Anyway thanks for the welcome. It's already 10:45 am here and I have only had a cup of coffee. I have such a hard time eating in the morning. I know I need to, but it's just not appealing. I have some of the WW smoothies I haven't tried yet. I need to get some FF Milk. :dizzy:

Have a good day everyone!

Mornin' Ladies

Welcome to the newbies!!!

With so much going on it is easy to lose me in the shuffle.

I was looking forward to a evening alone but DS woke up screaming and it took him 2 hours to settle. I ended up going to bed with him. Instead of resenting it I embraced it and enjoyed the extra rest. He has gone to a farmer’s market with his best friend&dad to sell a cow. Pretty exciting stuff. I was relieved to see him go. A much needed break. We have had some good dialogue the last couple of days so I am happy about that.
That will leave 7 kids here today. I have my helper coming. I am going to get my colour done. I will take the toddlers and leave the big kids with him.I cant wait to have my hair shampooed!!!
My weight has crept up a couple of lbs. I need to stop the icecream treats. It is getting more and more.
Last night I took the kids into town and we walked to deliver Avon books!! I will do the next 2 towns the same way. Great way to incorporate exercise!!
Doing lots of deep breathing and stretching.
SS meeting tonight at 7.
I am loving the cooler weather. Still getting up to 27C(84F) during the day but about 15C(60F) at night and morning. I love the 15C it is my favourite temp. I love to sit outside in the morning and at night.I have more energy too.
