Hello Ladies,

Been reading posts trying to catch up. I need to hurry so I can get on treadmill before DH comes home for lunch.

Grayeyed Girl: You are doing fantastic, you motivate me.

Annie: Doesn't it feel great to feel jeans getting baggy, or any clothes for that matter. I just mailed off 8 pairs of capri's to my sister, (who has always been smaller than me my whole life) and bought myself 5 new pair. I am down 2 sizes. It was a great big burden lifted when I cleaned out the closet and got rid of clothes that are Too BIG.

Leg. Brunette: You didn't say if you like Harry Potter? My son reads them, he is at the lake this week, but we are going to get it on Sunday, unless he buys it when he is going to Minneapolis with his Aunt.

My choice: thinking about you girl. We can do this together.

Debbie: You are soooo motivating. Curves 3 x a week. You are doing so well, don't beat yourself up with the small stuff. You have done incredible. This is a life journey. Not a week, or day journey. Glad you are doing so well.

Dakota: You have had a great week, keep it up.

Holly: My DH and I own 2 businesses, he runs the body shop, and I manage the sign co. At times it can be stressful, as the sign co., is not a life dream only a fit for us. My love is teaching, although the pay is horrible. SO, I teach for 9 months, and run the sign co. I have a good staff, who take care of things when I am teaching, but it is hard when I have the summer off, and try to come in and see what is happening, and work on accounts, because at times, I think they wish I was "at school". My hubby is good to keep tabs on things too, but it can be stressful at times. I know that we need the Sign Co., and our town needs it too. We are doing signs for other towns also.

Gotta run, my treadmill is calling my name, really it is SHOUTING for me to jump on.

Missing my DS. He is at the lake with cousins for a week, he is 13, he called last night, wanting me to come for a few days, just have way to much on plate to go. He is having a great time, waterskiing, and jetskiing but is a bit homesick. He leaves tommorrow to go to the Cities, (Minneapolis/St. Paul) with his Aunt, until Sunday. So that is exciting for him. The seperation is good for him and us, and it is nice to be with DH with no distraction. We are enjoying the time alone.
Have a great day filled with sunrays, suntan lotion, and a cool glass of iced tea.

Sandi

Just found this thread. I want to get under 200 soooo bad!

MyChoice2bfit 07-26-2005 09:58 PM

Good evening ladies,
I kept wondering how I was going to get here..you know how I did it? I made the time! I told myself it's important because it's important for me.

I have had a much better frame of mind since I wrote my confession. I guess that's why it's good to journal...confession is good for the soul they say.

Ok..here's the lowdown on the food:
B=rice crispies w/milk, water
L=Grilled veggie sand at Damon's, 1/2 of the onion straws they brought with the sandwich, water, 1/2 of the sweet potato crisp w/ ice cream
D=1 cup macc and cheese, 1 cup green beans, water, 1 handful of animal cracker cookies
Exercise=35 min on the treadmill at 3.6 mph. Went 1.92 miles. Ab work

I had a small victory in the fact that at lunch I didn't eat the rolls that were brought out. Yeah, I had the dessert, but split it with a friend and there was a time (just last week) I would have eaten all the onion straws, the roll and the whole dessert.

I know some of you said you were looking for the Dr. Phil article I was talking about, it's in the August Issue of Oprah.

Maureen: Welcome to our group...I know you will love it hear!

Holly: Giving up ice cream is a HUGE victory! Great job.

Annie: You BIG loser! Doesn't it feel great to see that much weight drop from your body..that's a 5 lb bag of sugar...gone from your waist...looks good off you girl!

Sandi: Did you make it to the treadmill?

Dakato: Great job on the 2 lb loss. What is Yourself Fitness?

Ladies, thanks for being here everyday with your posts. They are a huge help.

I'm headed to bed.

Susie

I didn't make it the gym this morning :( But I was so frustrated! I got to work at 7am, and the doors were locked  turns out our manager "forgot" GRRRR!! But I did make a 2 mile walk this evening with hubby! I was very reluctant, but I did it!

Then to make it worse, I let hubby tempt me into going to a buffett for dinner :o I wasn't as bad as I usually am! (I had a big salad, about a serving of pasta, one slice of pizza, some corn chips and a serving of ice cream, with topping) But I feel pretty crummy about that! Hopefully it doesn't hurt my week to bad!! I only have to lose 2 pounds to hit my goal!!

Holly, Congrats on eating better!! It's so hard when you're tempted and/or bored!!

Annie, 5.4 pounds?!?!?! Congratulations!!! That is so amazing!! How'd you do it??

Dakota, I love LOVE LOVE Yourself! Fitness!!! I use it on days I don't make it to the gym, and it really REALLY kicks my butt! It's such a great program!

Sioux, I love Harry Potter  My 15 year old sister got me hooked on the books! I love to read though, and fantasy books (Chronicals of Narnia, Harry Potter and the like) are right up my alley!

Maureen, WOW! You've already lost almost 140 pounds!! Congratulations!! You're so close to 200 now!! Welcome to our cozy little thread!! We're here to cheer you on!

MyChoice, Good Job at lunch :) You're making great steps already!!

Hey everyone,
YEAH!! big cold front will have us in the 80's today.
I decided to play hookie, I haven't missed in several months. I think I must be nuts, to miss the coolest day. when you work outside you should miss a hot one.
I've been doing better with food and exercise.
I'll do personals later. DH and I are about to leave to goof-off all day.

Everyone have a GREAT day.

Hollyhock 07-27-2005 09:13 AM

Deb~ goofing off is required!!!
Maureen~ Wow, you are sooooo close!! What a sucess story!!
Susie~glad you are doing better.Feeling more focussed!! Nice victory at lunch!!
Hi LB,Sandi,Dakota!!

Dull Day!
I may be dull too. LOL!!

Not much out of the ordinary going on. It has rained non stop for 3 days. The yard and flowers and farmers are happy.I haven’t been out on my swing tho.
Spent most of the day on the phone yesterday for Avon.It is amazing how many orders I get for making follow up calls.
Another good order. All new people. I need to get everyone ordering every campaign. I need 25 orders every campaign to earn $200( every 3 weeks). That is my goal.
In really like running a business again. It is what I do best. it is a little stressful the day of the order. It will be better when the kids are back in school.
I ordered a dump truck full of topsoil for in front of the new porch and up the south side of the house. It all costs money tho. Causes some anxiety. We are intentionally going into some debt. Way less than the average young family but it is yucky. Life is expensive. FOOD is freakin expensive if you want to eat well.
I am hoping this is our last big expense til next year. We have the materials to finish the bathroom. After that is to refinish the upstairs floors, put in a beam and railing on the stairs and refinish the stairs.Next year??!!

Food yesterday was better again. Still not enough veg. I have been draggin my butt a bit and the veggies would give a boost!!
DH says I am tired cause I am 40 now. Gotta love the dear man.

Hidy Ho!

Much cooler morning today. 68, no humidity! Was actually a little chilly on the way to work, turned off the air and left the windows up. This bizarre Indiana weather never seems to amaze me.

Susie - great job on eating yesterday, one day at a time, now do it again today. You can do this!

Legally B - I joined Weight Watchers on 7/18. My first WI was down 5.4. Second WI is next week.

My bestest buddy had stomach by-pass surgery yesterday. She did great! Her losing weight that way is what inspired me to get going to WW and lose. We have been friends since 8th grade. We worked for the same company for 23 years too, she is still there.

Did great on food yesterday, I rocked! haha.

Everyone have a super, on track, wonderful day!

Annie

Hello…..

Doing well here….maybe not really a “good” diet, but doing okay…Yesterday I knew I was going out to dinner with a friend to a pasta bar…so I ate very sparingly during the day…..got there and had pasta with red, yellow, green peppers, black and green olives, tomatoes, shrimp and chicken with red sauce…..all in all, not REALLY that bad!!!!!

Did go buy a new pair of shoes yesterday too…walked yesterday afternoon, and ended up with ANOTHER blister and said enough is enough…..hopefully these will fit better! The last two pairs were medium width; these are wide, they felt a lot better! For 75 bucks they better be!!!!

Annie…I know what you mean about the weather….same here in Iowa…..very chilly yesterday…hope is warms up today!

Holly….sounds like you are going to town with the Avon….COOL!

Legally B…..buffets are tough…but gotta do the best we can….I figure buffets are a part of life so we need to deal with them…avoiding them just makes me eat more when I do go…and I hate to say no all the time…learning to eat is the way to go.

Susie…good for you…it is all about the small victories!

Everyone…you guys keep me honest and keep me going…thanks!!

After I totally blew my calorie intake yesterday I was VERY glad to see that I didn't gain weight on the scale this morning! Which encouraged me even moreso to go to the gym! So at 9am I went for an hour of cardio! 30 elliptical/30 treadmill!! It was so wonderful, and I feel so great after wards!

I then treated myself to a subway sandwhich for lunch! Still pretty healthy, and I'm working on planning tonights meal... hoping my hubby doesn't mind eating healthy stuff! I can't have him bringing chips around me anymore GRRRR!

Debbie, I totally don't blame you for taking a cooler day off work! Enjoy it for yourself, not suffer through it while working! What is it that you do that you're outdoors all day?

Holly, I love Avon! I've often thought about selling, but I had no idea you could do so decent with it!!

Annie, I love the weight watchers program! We don't have one around here, not a good one anyway... I tried going once to the one here and the ladies are unfriendly, and I just didn't feel welcome :(

Lilly, I quit beating myself up when I realized that if I don't allow myself to splurge once in a while, and keep it simple like I did last night, then I just won't stay on plan very long...

MyChoice2bfit 07-27-2005 09:47 PM

Good evening,
It was a pretty good day even though I'm so far behind at work. I don't know how it happens, but it seems to every day. I'm so puzzled by it because I'm usually a very organized and planned person. I did take the time to schedule my day tomorrow and I'm going to see maybe where I get off track.

Anyway, I'm working hard here at staying on track with the food. I didn't eat healthy today ie, no veggies really, but I didn't binge and I thought about stopping to buy a candy bar at lunch..you know..just one..but I didn't. I did have a peanut butter cookie at work, but only one...I was really wanting two. I thought, who would know...well...I WOULD!

Had a meeting with my boss today. We review goals every quarter. I had brought up about how much I had been working and how long I worked 2 territories when I was only hired for one and so forth and that I would like for him to consider giving me a raise (we are only suppossed to get them on our anniversary date). He told me that due to budgets being set for the year, he wasn't able to give me an increase, but he promised me a big one in December on my anniversary date, he did however give me an extra week of vacation for this year! This was great to hear! I only had one week, and I was used to having 3, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Here's the food for the day:
B=rice crispies w/milk, water
L=jr cheeseburger, small fries, water, 1 peanut butter cookie
D=grilled cheese sand. snack size pringle serving, handful of pretzals, handful of animal crackers, water
Exercise=None

Not a great day..but not a binge day eithier so I will keep moving forward. I think I'm going to be up tomorrow at my weigh-in. I will just accept it and move on...I have..I've confessed the game I was playing with the food..I've worked out a plan and I'm working that plan..that's the direction to look. Right?!

Holly: You are a natural at this Avon thing! I think you should start a company...I would come work for you. You see what you want and go for it. I know that approach is going to get you to the 199 goal as well.

Debbie: How was the goof off day?

Annie: We had cool weather in Ohio today also. It was very refreshing wasn't it? Did you "rock" on the food today?

Legally: Glad the scales were kind to you. An hour of cardio....what an accomplishment..pat yourself on the back!

Lilly: You are worth the $75 shoes...how did they work out?

Hollyhock 07-27-2005 10:21 PM

Oh susie~ I wish it was getting me there. I had an odd day food wise.
B~ shredded wheat and milk, plum, 2 glorious coffees
L~ scrambled egg and ww toast( meant to have a red pepper cut up but got busy)
D~ sausage on a bun ,corn on the cob
Then I ate some chips and dip. ARG!!!!!
I normally eat WAY more fruit and veg.I also drink at least 8 12 oz water every day, sometimes more.
I did take the kids out for icecream after hockey registration and I had a fruit smoothie!!

I did own a business for 6 years before I had my kids. I am an entrepeneur at heart.Or a rebel. One or the other. I definitely dont like being told what to do or when to do it!!

It is a beautiful 18C here!! (66F)!!
I am off to snuggle with a blankie on my porch swing!

lilybutt 07-27-2005 11:16 PM

Had a thought today…went walking outside (new shoes worked out great….still got the old blisters, but no new ones)…anyway…I was thinking about wanting to lose weight and having a goal. Now my long term, would be ecstatic to be there, goal is---190. I was up to 250 once, got as low as 130, but gained weight back and got as high as 320, then I lost 80 and have bounced up and down at the 240-235 range for months, okay actually well over a year. So I was thinking about goals and weight and diets and thought to myself “why am I settling for 190….seems that I could be down further…170? 150? 130?” ……then stopped myself cold and said to myself, in my head of course-I don’t talk to myself on my walks, only in the privacy of my home-hehehehe-“why are you thinking about a weight loss goal?….what I am doing now…eating 1500 calorie of healthy food, exercising as often as I can (trying for the 5 days a week), should be my goal…not losing weight”. So I though instead of going to bed every night ruminating about whether the scale will show a loss in the morning and waking up running to the scale…..I should go to bed every night proud of having made good eating choices, while at home or eating out, or sticking with my calories, or walking and lifting weights, or just feeling good about myself. And get up in the morning and make conscience decisions about how I am going to live that day to be healthier….just my musings!

LegallyBrunette 07-28-2005 01:21 PM

Yesterdays food was pretty good, I did have a short time (right about 6pm) where I felt starving, so I had a "Skinny Cow" ice cream sandwhich, and I was still hungry so I had a serving of pretzels... and then right before bed again I had a serving of pretzels and then helped myself to 3 handfuls of DH's chips! (Only about a serving though!) I think I may have stayed within my calorie goal, but I'm still pretty upset about giving in :( I wish I could break this nasty nasty habit!

MyChoice2bfit, I am amazed at your ability to pass up a candy bar!! I'm having serious issues doing that! I keep thinking "Well, ok, if I have the candy bar then I just have to cut back at dinner...not big deal.

Holly, your weather sounds gorgeous! I'm super jealous! We've stayed 100+*f every day this week!! Yesterday was 110, and ICK ICK ICK!

Lilly, what a great thought process, to be proud for making wise decisions! I wish I could convince my mind that that's what's more important...maybe someday I will finally convince my mind of that, but until then...

Annie, Congrats on staying OP! You are doing so wonderful!

luflic 07-28-2005 01:44 PM

Hope you don't mind me adding my two cents . I agree with you so much lilybutt! We can't be about the numbers we need to be about a healthy lifestyle. We should feel so proud of ourselves.
